Fa made no comment on liking water. She actually did have a fondness for water and baths especially but it had to be ridiculously hot for it not to chill her.

"I am from a farming tribe. My people do not appreciate fire." she said dryly, Understatement of the century. "And I'm only steaming because the use of my powers elevates my body temperature more than it's already elevated state. It should be safe to touch me soon." And then I can get my clothes on without having to worry about turning them to ashes.

"What of you? You mentioned "lotus flowers". I have not heard of these."

"Well, kiddo, we're going back to tell your chief what happened. Then you'll hopefully join me. As for why they don't like me, I happen to enjoy the finer things in life, especially women." The arrived at the Sing tribe. "Why don't you go talk to your master. I'll go talk to your chieftain."

"You want me to join you?" Shu asked Nu Sou, bewildered. "I'd love to, though it would be a good idea to talk to my master," she told him, smiling. "Good luck with the Chieftain, I'll see you in a bit," and she dashed off to find her master to tell him everything that had happened. His humor may have been lewd, but she couldn't see Nu Sou being any other way.

"Truly? I can see how that would be frowned upon, the fire and the growth. But even my tribe recognizes the vitality of the flame and it's neccesity in the world. I am glad I know of your normal state however, I would worry if you were unconcious wit a fever that wouldn' leave." Yue smiled lightly again before continuing. "But a lotus is a very beautiful flower that grows from a very ugly place." She dunked her dress in the water then, happy when small blossoms of pink appeared in the dark water instead of that horrible brown. "A bit like that you see, but a lotus has the most amazing scent and feeling to it. Almost like magic."

Sing Shu ran all the way to her master's tent, which she jumped in. "Master! I'm back!" She yelled, excited. Her master was sitting on the ground, petting Won Ton, the cream colored cat she liked to feed.

"I see, what did you do?" Her master asked her. She walked up to him and sat across from him.

"I went with Nu Sou, and Ka Shu Fa, we ambushed the camp of the bandits who have been attacking our tribe. I finally got to use my powers to their fullest, and it felt great," she told him.

"Well, it seems to me you don't need any more training, especially from me," he told her, smiling slightly.

She nodded,"Nu Sou wants me to join them," she said.

"I think that would be best for you, Sing Shu."

"I think so too," they both stood up.

"It's been great mentoring you, there's no need for you to come back and visit, I have new company," he said to her, nodding at the purring feline.

Shu laughed,"Alright, be sure to take care of Won Ton for me then," and she hugged him and left, looking for Nu Sou, so she could tell him the good news.

((I'm still sleepy... Need... coffee...))

Fa peered into the water, spotting the pink blossoms almost immediately. They were a start contrast to the muddy river.

"If they can survive the currents of a river and turn the mud to beauty... then they are very much like Nu Sou." She said absent mindedly as she finished her bath and began to dress again. She was used to having to bath and dress quickly lest she either be ambushed by the enemy or caught by a male ally.

"they're actually the most beautiful in the most horrid of places." Yue swished her dress once more before whipping it out of the river andflinging it into a twist with a very small movement. Perfectly dry. "He emntioned a son...have you met him?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 14, 2009 10:56 pm

"Who? Ling? Yes. Only a few times but he seemed like a decent boy. Though," she began with a slightly exasperated tone, "he is still a boy and -- if he continues the way he is going -- he's going to be a boy in some very deep trouble."

She grimaced as she put on her coat again, And if Sou doesn't let his son face a bit of danger to break that illusion of invincibility soon, the Ling is going to be in for some very cold and deadly awakenings.

"A boy...?" Yue hung her head ever so slightly, hardly noticable. "wait, trouble? What sort?" Hopefully not the kind that would turn her tribe into warriors. And even if he was a chid then he needn't be facing danger.

She slid her arms back into the gossamer silk and redid her wide belt, wrapping it around both her torso and her waist. "If there's anymore fighting I'll have to rip the bottom off," she laughed sadly. it was her favorite robe.

"Well, I see trouble for him on many fronts. First, is the kind all-- well, most sixteen year old boys get into; acquainting oneself with the opposite sex and all the rule that come with it being a male of the Nu court. In his case, his troubles come in the form of Cao Mai, one of Nu Sou's concubines. Second, is his disdain for his siblings. I do not know enough about court behaviors to know if this will cause trouble but it does not sit right with me; shunning a creature for something they are not responsible for. And, of course, third, his hot headed temperament mixed with his believe that he is invincible. Luckly, I have faith that Sou will set the boy straight before he must take his father's place." Fa said confidently, adding in her own mind, And if he doesn't, I will.

Eying Yue's garment, Fa gave a slight nod to herself, "I am good with needle and thread. I might be able to repair some of the damage. Or at least find a tailor to fit you with new clothes. Though I cannot promise that they will be of that style or quality."

"Distatse based on ones birth..." Yue shook her head as she whispered, feeling for his siblings all too well. Listening to the third reason she scoffed. As if stealing your father concubine wasn't enough. "I wouldn't worry overly much," yue waved a hand. "I can send for more and wear Jens until they arrive." She hated Jens clothing. it was too bright, blood reds and bright blues. she felt like a bird in them.

Ka Shu Fa eyed Yue for a moment before speaking, "You seem a descent sort. Why are you being sent to deal with Nu Sou?" With his reputation with women, most sent males to deal with him, lest their daughter/sister/wife ended up being charmed into an... overly diplomatic situation. Nu Sou usually had some sense in these matters but he was still Nu Sou.

"Strictly speaking we should already be allies," Yue grit out. "My cousin Jen has always been a bit of a troublemaker for me. She's my mother's cousins child, and a true blood heir to the clan. However, she's lazy, useless, and can't stand the sight of blood." Yue took a deep breath as she stared her companion in the eye. "I was born out of wedlock to the original heir, and Jen has always disliked that I was chosen instead of her to take over. Indeed I should be thankful my beloved cousin sings my praises so highly after her nightly excersizes." Yue let out a small growl. All because of something so stupid she had many of her tribe hating her, how could one sleep around and not expect to get pregnant? And then to choose death... "Those praises brought me here for a reason unknown. I only hope that I might return as a white lotus."

Fa's back straightened. She knew the type all too well.

"Do not fear, Jin Lian Yue, as a friend of Ka Shu Fa, you will be sure to return as you came." She said with a resolute nod, her unwavering voice leaving no room for argument or doubt on the matter.

Trying to lighten the mood a little she added, "I seem to be turning into quite the socialite; two allies in one day." She was not sure if she succeeded in a tone of voice that would allude to her joke; speaking to persons in a non-official capacity was not her strong suit.

"Would you tell me more of you cousin. If she intends to bring Nu Sou into this, I must know everything I can about her." She said, turning serious again. Unlike Sou, Fa was unable to maintain jovial airs for long.

((Sorry for the digital death. Life has gotten hectic.))

Nu Sou was sitting by a fire. The sun was midday, and he and some others had gourds they were sharing. Nu Sou and the chieftain were bright red in the face. Most of the men around the fire were laughing and speaking loudly, each taking turn boasting about his deeds. As each told a deed, the entire group drank out of their gourd.

Nu Sou stood, stumbling a little. The chieftain held onto him so he didn't fall into the fire. Nu Sou smiled at the man, "Thank you, good sir. I wish to tell of my greatest conquest! There was a woman by a river." The men cheered. "She was standing just right so that the sun's reflection lit her face. She looked at me and stared. I was a powerful man's son, and I was staring, and I've always been a little boisterous." The men laughed. "Please, please, this is quiet for me. But I took her into my arms...." He looked about him, the men moving closer to him to hear what he did next, anticipating. "And she slapped me good!" The men drank again and laughed. "She's the wife of my son, Nu Ling. He has risen brilliantly from the sky, and may I never see his setting!"

Nu Sou stumbled a little more, squinting at Sing Shu, "Ah, you there! Are you joining me?"
