Definately ok, as the majority of the characters have fur that can be used to remain appropriate. I have a character that will soon be dressed just like Sonic out of necessity.

I never understood the 'standard sonic' outfit. No clothes at all, yet they take the time to put on socks, gloves, and shoes. Why? Pants are a bit more important

No. Shoes protect the feet from becoming blistered from the speed at which Sonic runs. Tails is mimicking Sonic, and the rest just sort of followed suit as they appeared in the games. Pants only keep you warm. Does very little good when you have fur.

I'm JOKING! Pants just seem slightly more important than gloves. I don't care how much fur you have. Pants > gloves.
