"I couldn't find you for three years Relic. I was so scared." She walked with him and had her arm around his waist. "I'm so sorry Relic, I'm really sorry." She looked up at him and made him stop when they were a very good distense away from the cave. "I love you, I can't lose you again." She pulled him down and kissed him softly.

He kissed her back, as if savoring the ability to do so.. then let his head fall to her shoulder, saying in a muffled sigh. " Then dont leave me. i cant go back into that.." but he didnt know how to go back to his old life, either. he was terrified that this was just another dream, that he would wake up and be chained again.. and Aeryn would be another wraith to haunt him. His eyes were amber again, dark with pain as he wraped both arms around her waist.. trying to pull his mind back together. in a ragged, dead voice he asked quietly. " If this is a dream.. be kind to me. kill me before i wake."

Aeryn held Relic tightly and cried softly. "If this is a dream then I won't let you wake up. I will have you stay here and never go back to that god forsaken hole." She ran her fingers through his hair gently and hummed to him to sooth him. "Where do you want to go? I will take you where ever you want to go and I will stay with you all the way."

Relaxing slowly he tried to think of where he had been.. slowly latching on to the clearest one. lifting his hand he pointed down the road.. saying in a bit stronger tone. " That way.. not far, near a old oak.." where he had found her, that first night.. she had been humming and reading a book, two nights before he had saved her.. her promise calmed him as nothing else could.. for some reason he accepted that she could keep him here, and relaxed enough to show her that trust.

She grabbed his hand firmly and started to walk down the road, still humming an old tune her mother taught her to keep her calm when she was a child. "Why this way Relic?" She looked up at him with a small smile on her face as they walked.

he hesitated until they reached the old wall, the oak tree's branchs reaching up like a hand to shelter it from a rainy day. he looked around slowly, then pointed to a tall tree across the road. " I sat up there, waiting for a shipment.. " he turned to look at the wall again, his eyes narrowing as he pulled on the memory. " you were under the branchs on the wall, reading a book and smiling even though you still had tears in your eyes. i wanted to know how you could smile like that when you were sad.." he shook his head slowly, his tone changing to anger as he continued. " you were not here the next night, but the night after that.. i came late, wasnt in time to stop him from hurting you. i picked you up and you asked me not to hurt you.." It was his only memory.. at least, the only one that came to him often. the others were hidden, even now. thoughtfully he turned to look at her, asking curiously. " why did you cry that night, Aeryn..?"

Aeryn had to think about it for a while before she remembered that night. "Two days before my axident, I was beaten with a belt and then later a bottle. I was in pain, but I was smiling because I had a plan to get out of it all and the book was already there so I picked it up. I'm glad I didn't go through my plan though, or I would have never been saved by my night in shining armor." She looked at the wall and touched it with her free hand. "Why did you come the night you found me? I don't think you had a shipment then."

" I did.. it was just not here." the other Jackel had been ticked off about it.. Asa.. that was his name.. shakeing the thoughts away he added simply. " I do not know why i came back, all i can remember is a feeling of peace when i heard you talk. you were soothing to listen too.. even if you were talking to yourself, and not me." shaking his head he spread his arms slightly, his tone half heartedly teaseing as he murmered. " My armor seems to have dulled.. good thing i dont need it now." because he would defend her with everything.. and nothing as simple as armor or weapons would stop him from doing it.

" I cant allow that." lifting his hand he placed it on her upper arm, forcing her away gently. when he looked down at her his eyes were teal, amber leaking around the pupils as he said in a flat tone. " I will not be accepted in that pack again, Aeryn... and i will not let you die because we are lone jackels. The Alpha, Asa, is a protector.. im a killer. "

Aeryn looked up at Relic and her eyes started to shimmer with an idea. "Then lets make our own pack. We can build it and make it grow with others. We will be a darker side of the Idolians if you will." She started to smiled and nod. "Yes, you and I can lead it, be the Alphas." She chuckled and continued to nod.

For a long time he didnt move, his body still as stone.. then he slowly brought her hand to rest over his heart, covering it with one of his own as he answered in a admiring tone. " You will lead us, my love, and i will destroy anything that stands in your way." A alliance, they could form with the other Idolians.. That would protect them from battling with themselves and keep Asa's crew out of their buisness.. the idea was perfect.

" you tell someone what to do.. and if they refuse i beat them down. obediance is nothing to worry about, sweet Aeryn." beause he would kill anyone who attempted to disobey her. pulling her under the protection of his arm he bent his head, whispering softly. " Lets go home."
