A Person walk into the room, his face was cover and he had all dark clothes on. The only thing that stood out was his long black sword. it was the longest and the blackest sword that anyone ever seen. Of couse it was rare to hear of a black sword, otherless seeing one so close.

Too early . . . Judging by the distance the missiles had to go, the fourth happened far too early. From his semi-bunker, Magni realizes that his weapon failed with a frown. Pulling up his final secret, his mind is assaulted by several perspectives for a moment until his cybernetic eye reconstructs the field as a 3D model. This one move saves him as he is suddenly quite aware of where Mirouni went. Looking up, he sees a blast being formed and launched downward. "Slag!"

In a split second he is faced with two possibilities. Try to run, or counter. Without a reload of his static field, deflecting the beam is out of the question. The idea comes up of trying to split the beam, but no guarantees come up of where the split beam will go. Instead, he has no real choice. Engaging his thrusters, Magni makes another dash out of the way. Rather than go far, he just barely moves out of the way leaving his blaster behind. While not intentional his weapon still serves a purpose. Caught in that beam the weapon quickly overloads adding a concussive force to backwash into the beam and give a sensation of impact.

Meanwhile, Magni flies up the side of the beam straight to it's source. He had not intended to leave the blaster- it fell from his side while he grabbed his other weapon, the beam saber. Powered by his upward thrust at full-burn the tech-warrior goes for an upercut with that sword while Mirouni is distracted forming the very beam that nearly leveled Magni.

"Shoryu~~~~~~~~~ken!!!" Magni lets out a warcry as he blasts upward for a strike- only to land on his bum in the simulator. Everything is gone, including his tech, weapons, and even the landscape. Left in a blank simulator, only the word 'Winner' flashes above him. Confused, he stands in his normal clothes and with a grumpy voice wonders aloud.

"Clarify: Why the hell did I win?!" Before him, Magni sees the details become a ticker beneath the winner moniker. Words scroll detailing battle stats, but most importantly is the word 'forfeiture.' Grumbling loudly about winning through non-satisfying means, Magni leaves the system to be sure he doesn't hog it all.

"dammit . . . . NEXT!"

Stranger look down at them both turn his head to side to side to make sure he side them both up as the sand and dust fell from his clothes.
That missle attack was something else, it feel so real and look at me, cover in nothing but sand and dust and I wasn't even into the fight. Real or unreal, the pain is real and so is the attack. There is something more to this area then what they said about it. Like a close book I may not be able to read you but I'm also like a close book. You can read me. With that the stranger turn around and walk out, waiting for the next fight.

Panpear finally removed herself from her corner. She had watched the fight from her corner, but mostly had been watching the others in the room. It was disappointing when it ended, but there were obvious reasons why it did.

However, now it was her turn. How in the world did Articx-Frost convince her to fight against him? Not that it mattered, at any rate; it was merely holograms. However, from seeing the other fights, she knew it was still feel... real.

Maybe that's what she needed anyway. A little chance to let go of her inner frustrations, do some things she never would do in the first place.

Of course, she never actually fought before. She attempted to reassure herself that it would come naturally.

Nodding to those recently arrived, and those leaving the holographic controls, Panpear stepped inside. It hummed gentle, asking for outfit input.

Indeed, what would she fight with? Panpear thought for a moment, but nothing particular exciting came to mind. Her current clothes, though ragged from years of wear and tear, seemed to be stable enough for a fight. She uploaded her current appearance, 'zombieness' and all to the system. It locked the avatar in place, and with a short few commands, she was there...

In a canyon. Panpear blinked, not remembering that she selected that. And then belated remembered that it was random, as to which zone they were placed in, since nothing was specified.

The canyon was a red-orange-brown, with crumbly rock sides, and a long stretch of muddy river, which seemed to be barely moving. Looking both ways, Panpear saw it meander off into the distance. There was a good 50-60 feet from each side, with a large swatch of land not covered by the low river. Panpear, the pitchfork-wielding zombie, stood on one side of the river, with the cliff face close to her back. She waited for her opponent to appear; she assumed at the other side of the river, with the noon sun beating down on them both.

The stranger return. His face still cover with a huge cape. at the bottom of his cape, there are a pare of black, old shoes and a very long black sworld.
For sure this stranger had show himself before, watching the fight that was going on. He seen to enjoy it. not seeing people suffer in their own pain but to watch then, to learn what they was thinking to get out of the mix they was in. Anyway the people that fight here, cause their own pain, even if it not with their own hand but if they walk in thinking of hurting somebody or thinking of them having one day the title "Winner!" flash above their head as if it mean something. A single word doesn't mean nothing. When you got it in your mind faceing the foe. You already lost long ago, before the match even begain. It close your mind to thinking.
Your body, soul and also your weapons become weak.

The strange look down at the new face and open his mouth. You down there holding that weapon. Do you have it what it take?
Tell me, No! He turn his head to side to side before looking down at him.Yell it no me, Scream what you have on your mind to me, tell me what you thinking when You came here. Tell me if you here to see the word "winner" or you here to show that you are the best, not to me or the people that around here but to the whole world. I seen to many people came in here with the poison of winning in their mind and lost, are you the next?

Articx keyed in the final details before hitting enter. "Combat preferences ready. Prepare for battle." A bit different to normal but let's see how it goes. The machine hummed softly, then faded into a muddy, dusty brown landscape.

A rugged slope lay above and below the ledge that he stood on. The harsh sun shone down from the cloudless sky directly into the canyon that he was in. At the bottom was a slow mud river with a near flat bank on each side. Don't want to get caught in that. Maybe 15-20 meters from the 'wall' to the mud on each side. A lone figure stood on the other side. Panpear.

"I hope you haven't been waiting long." Articx shouted out as he slid down the rock face before jumping the last few meters to the ground. It was dusty at the bottom and his feet slid slightly as he shifted his weight. "A ball and chain? Sure you're going to be able to move with that on?" Of course she can. Why else would she still be wearing it.
"You ready?"
Dashing forward he aimed for a stab with the lance to her chest followed by a swipe at her legs with the scythe.

(( Suppose I should count. This would be 3 / 20 ))

"Of course I'm re-" was her reply, cut short by Articx's swift attack. It seemed he was at her in a second.

"Maybe this was a bad idea..." she thought to herself. But reflexes took over. It was the lance that Panpear saw first, aiming for her chest. She sidestepped, leaning back at the same time, to avoid it, which she barely did, as it caught some of her mummy wraps, pulling one or two aside. Thank goodness they were in layers, or otherwise it might have gotten embarrassing!

It was during this maneuver that Panpear noticed the scythe coming in for her feet. With her momentum already pulling her back, Panpear decided to roll with it. Or in this case, backflip. An extra push with her legs gave them the vertical height they needed to avoid the scythe. The ball and chain followed them gracefully up (such strength, these zombies have), and if she had been faster, it would have missed the scythe too. However, she was too busy concentrating on actually flipping and not landing on her back to notice the effect the scythe had on the ball and chain (or vis versa).

Articx-Frost
((Post 4/20))

The first strike was probably never going to hit and it didn't really. A bit faster and it would have been messy but it only got a few layers of bandages. The second move however was the one that had more potential to do damage. But Panpear wasn't someone that was normally in situations like this and that made her unpredictable.
As Panpear flipped backwards over the blade, the tip of the sythe caught on the chain. Got you. Smiling Articx pulled it sideways and launching the ball towards the wall of the canyon. As Panpear was connected to the chain this meant that she was tugged along with it. Unhooking the boomerang from his belt loops Articx threw it in a curved flight after her. "A bit better than that. Come on, I was expecting more."
Settling into a more defensive stance Articx waited on her to try something rather than making it a one sided fight. Your move.

The stranger slowly lower himself until he was kneesing down on his right leg, looking down at them fight. Thinking to himself: Humm. it look like this one could be a good fight after all but will she forget what I said to her? Also this guy waste no time going for his attack on her. Maybe he seen the chain and that steel ball that join to her leg as her weakness and tried to finish her off first or just maybe, she put that on herself to make it an even fight because she have something or know something we don't? Only time wiull tell before this match really get started but as long as this match kept on going like this, she wasn't going to last for long but I believe she got a few tricks or two.

Panpear

PostPosted: Tue Oct 13, 2009 5:31 pm

(( I would say try to space out comments on the fight after every two posts in the fight, if you're going to be posting that often, so we can keep track of who did what a little better. I know you (and others!) are allowed to post during the fight, but in most of the previous cases the commentators only posted in short bursts when the fight was taking longer, and in between fights. ))

(( 5/20 ))

Mentally congratulating herself on such a complicated backflip, Panpear was unprepared for the events that followed. But even she realized something was horribly wrong when she felt a tug on her ankle, that quickly turned into a full yank. It didn't take her long to realize what had happened, and that the next few seconds would be quite painful.

In retrospect, hitting the cliff wall didn't hurt that much, it was just more of a shock. The ball had slowed down from moving her weight about, but it was still going fast enough to bury itself in the cliff face, with a slight Panpear indentation next to it, where she tarried for a moment.

It was because of this pause that she was spared being ravaged by Articx's boomerang; her pitchfork, which happened to be sticking out on the correct side, caught the brunt of it. Of course the force of it sent her tumbling out of the cliff face, covering her with little bits of rock. She felt a slight bruise from where the pitchfork-boomerang combo hit her head.

Quickly she stood up, expecting her opponent to be at her. But he was still on the other side, apparently waiting for her attack. Panpear shrugged, realigned herself and her gear, giving herself a little brush to get the dirt off.

And then she picked up the ball, from the ball and chain, and gave it a mighty throw directly at Articx-Frost. Away she sped, deadly ball first, with an equally deadly and much more maneuverable pitchfork, aimed for stabbing or a possible throw. (Such an attack is, of course, difficult to imagine, with it being impossible considering real physics; however, this is Gaia, and with zombies you just never quite can tell).
