Atticus stood ready for an attack and watched as the man moved cautiously. Atticus smirked as he removed his hand from the pommel of his sword. He removed his gauntlet and walked forward. "Pardon my rudeness, friend. My journey is one of great importance to me. My banishment was unfair, but revenge is not what I am after. If you wish to help you are welcome to." He then reached his uncovered hand out in greeting. "The name is Atticus, and I am the Knight of the Black Dragon. Please just call me Atticus." He said to the cloaked man.

Freya smirked, enjoying this new companion. Aye, I like this girl. She tells it how it is with no if, ands, or butts, she mused as she pulled out her sword. "Ye see, she tells the truth. Many a pirate have been sent in to do exactly what I'm doing now, take down the king, but all have failed because they weren't skilled or strong enough, savvy? This is why we need a crew. We can get through this bloody forest and the desert after it if we head in together," Freya explained, scanning her eyes over her crew. She rested the blade of her sword over her shoulder, just for show, and continued on with her statement. "Ye land lubbers gotta have skills in swordsmanship, stealth, hand-to-hand combat, poisons, and surviving... without it, you'll surely be sent to Davey Jone's Locker without hesitation."
She paused, took a breath, and stared into the eyes of everyone. "So, what are your skills matey? Will you be able to contribute to the crew?"

 Markus smirked. Yes, he believed he could trust this man. Markus stood back up, standing at full height now. He noted he was as tall as Atticus. Markus knocked back his hood, revealing his young face. He reached out with his own hand, taking his.
"Markus Madavarius. Ex-Grand Knight. Just call me Markus."

 Ashe lowered her arm and sighed. "School is one thing, the woods are another." She pulled out her knife and started to twirl it in her hands, listening to the pirate's speech. She smiled at the mention of Davey Jone's Locker. "Forget the Locker. You'll wind up in some creatures gullet if you can't fend for yourselves."
She sheathed her knife and placed her hands behind her head. "I got my bow and my knife. I've got my eyes, ears, and nose. I can track food and places to camp for the night. Just don't expect me to walk on the ground, I'll take safety in the trees."

She stared intently into the forest, seeming not to be listening to the others. She continued staying silent throughout most of it, until...
"I guess the only thing I have on my back is my lack of fear of the Black Woods," She looked over at Leo, "I'm willing to leave now, if you are."

She calmly followed, taking Liona with her, keeping an eye on the younger girl.

"Aye! Don't rush in like a bull in a china closet ye ol' brute!" Freya exclaimed as she rushed after the boy. These new comers will have to learn what it's like first hand, she thought, thinking of a plan to show them what it would be like deeper in the forest.
Shadows consumed their figures as they ventured on under the cover of the trees, and before she completely lost sight of Bejeweled Bay, she turned to observe that strange man in the cloak and his new companion. Good Riddance! she spat before turning her head back around to view where she was heading. Although, it looked like he summoned up a good partner to travel with him through the woods, she continued on with her musings. Damn, I should have asked them both to be in my crew, even if the cloaked man and I weren't on good terms, she cursed as a scowl overcame her features.
Just as she was going to part her lips to speak to her crew, she felt a web hit her smack in the face, partially blinding her in the only eye that she used. "Bloody Hell!" she cursed as she tried to pick off the sticky web. She got off as much as she could manage and drew her sword, knowing that there was a pack of spiders nearby.
"Aye, crew, ye best be on your guard. There's creatures lurking in the shadows," she warned as she tried to find where the bloody things were.

She held up a strange looking staff that wasn't noticed before. She turned around to make sure that Freya was alright. She looked closely at her eye, making sure it was alright. Satisfied that it was, she nodded and turned back around.
"We'll be fine."
