That's what I thought and also George and Rispah don't get their love of the Rogue from Beka. If they were descended from Rosto as well that would make sense to me. I'd have had an earlier input but the internet I've been borrowing is bad today.

Yes but Tammy did say not to get our hopes up for that pairing. I really hope she's just trying to throw us off the scent.

I'm sad to say I just don't care anymore. Sometimes I think Beka shouldn't be with Rosto, because she is annoying me right now. -_- It's not good if you dislike the main character...but I really loved her in Terrier. Why did she have to change? gonk

She's growing up. You change when you grow up.
She's coming out of her shell.

....Yeah, she's growing into Tammy's biggest Mary-sue. *sigh*
Here's what I think: Beka and Rosto will be together once, maybe a few times *hehe*. But Beka will marry someone else. Just cause Rosto is very determined. rofl wink

Do you really think Beka is Mary-Sue?
I was thinking maybe but I didn't want to get ahead of myself.

Well I think it's very possible. Tammy has a lot of work if she doesn't want Beka to become a Mary Sue in Mastiff. She might not marry Roki as you pointed out he would have to not have a last name. I doubt there's very many of those running around that Beka would like. Rosto is very determined to make Beka his.At times he seems patient like George and others he's furious cause she goes off with some Cove she barely knows.

Woo~ Great Mother Goddess be praised, I -finally- found enough time to read the book. (By the way, I got my long haired tabby kitten and named him Zephyr, incase anybody cares)
1) Best event in the plot Definitely Achoo, and when Beka nabbed the child stealers, I liked that bit. Ooh, and I also liked it when Beka was helped by the gixie who had been following her, and they went all over Pearl's courts without being noticed.
2) Worst event in the plot I know everyone has their knickers in a twist about Dale, but personally I don't have anything against him, except that he turned out to be a flake in the end. Hmmm, I can't really think of 'the worst event', but I think Tammy could have left out the torture scene with that poor innocent man, she could have thought of a less gruesome way for Beka to find out that Pearl was targeting her enemies.
3) Best character/quote I'm gonna have to say that my favorite new character was Okha, I dunno why, I just liked him. The best quote by far is Tunstall's curse after his legs were broken.
4) Was it better than Terrier? I'm gonna have to say yes. Terrier was good, but I wasn't awestruck by it. At first Bloodhound was only so-so, and it didn't really captivate my attention, but around half way through it picked up, and I got complete tunnel vision, I couldn't do anything but read the book. Now Ive finished it, and I'm hungering for more, I'm permeated with the feeling of 'I just read a damned good book'. Bloodhound has been on my mind all day, though I finished it this morning. I've even tried talking about it with my family, even though they have no idea on earth what I'm talking about, other than that I'm rattling on about some book.
And so there you have it, anyone who would like to discuss it with me is welcome. 3nodding

Yeah, his flakiness is what bothers me the most. I think the concept of coles was hard to work with, and it is hard to get into. But I also kept talking about it to whoever would listen xd

I think Terrier was better but I think that's because Kidnapping and Murders hold my attention easier than counterfeiting.

Yeah, I've never been much of a fan for murder mysteries, which is why I don't really like the Emelan books (Though I will admit, I like Shatterglass). I think counterfeiting was a bold move for Tammy, because it's either a hit or a miss. However, I think she pulled it off nicely, even if the explanations behind the colemongering seemed a bit dubious to me (A random guy who got kicked out of the army is smarter and more malicious then the queen of the Rogue in Tortall's main trade port?). Nevertheless, the main gist of the plot was entertaining.
