 Would Dolci use tactics like that just to dunk him? Perhaps... It would, of course, be highly amusing to lean in for a kiss only to push him down into the water!
But..
As she swept a quick glance around the land surrounding the lake, she couldn't help but think that someone could very easily be watching them. One, or two, unseen ponies, keeping their distance just enough to not be seen by Dolci or her Yuuki. But close enough that they could keep tabs on their movements, even take note of what was going on...
Hm.
Nah! That sounded just silly! Who would want to watch them? After all, it was very innocent playing in the water, was it not? And if anything, the pony to be watching them was Peophynnia -- and she'd definitely make herself known. There couldn't be any prying eyes around, right?
Shrugging, she smiled wide at Yuuki. "I won't dunk you. I promise." Though as tempting as that was, she decided instead to lean into him closer. She nuzzled him back carefully, pressing her nose into his wet coat, before pressing a kiss to the only spot on his neck she could reach.

 He closed his eyes for a moment, leaning into the kiss. He could definitely get used to those, he could get used to all of this, it just felt nice to finally have someone to be with and Yuuki took that in for a moment before paddling away from her quickly.
"Thank you! You're still it though." His smile grew wider and he turned around to swim out a little further before stopping, if he had kept going, he'd probably reach the other side of the lake in no time and who knew what lurked over there. The wolves probably and he so did not feel like having another run in with them just yet, especially not while Dolci was with him.
The other side of the lake was a little ominous though, he had the feel that they were being watched but that was a little silly, no one else was out here. He shook it off and turned back to her. "Give up?"

How did that make sense?! Dolci had just touched him, didn't that make Yuuki it now?
No matter, though! As soon as he started to move away, she followed right behind him. Pushing her hooves through the muck at the bottom of the lake, she started to swim after him. She giggled quietly and willed her legs to move faster, charging through the water as hard as she could in an attempt to catch up.
"Nuh uh! You should be it now!" Shaking water out of her mane, she started treading her legs quickly, keeping herself afloat while she made her way closer. "But I won't give up. You'll come back eventually."

"Hmm, I suppose the kiss would have made me it. Sneaky." He smiled wide, scrunching his face up for a moment before starting to make his way over to her, circling around her in the water absently.
"Well, do you want to keep playing or do you want to get out of the water and dry off?" He cocked his head to the side, moving his legs in a steady rhythm to keep paddling around her. "I don't know about you, but the swimming has made me hungry, again."

Dolci watched, in amusement, as Yuuki circled around her.
Around and around and around and around and around....
Her head moved along with him as he swam and it was enough to make her mildly dizzy. But thankfully, she smiled wide and stopped craning her neck to keep watching him before she ended up drowning!
"We can get out if you want!" Does that mean she won?! "Maybe Peophynnia has had enough time to not be mad at us anymore."
That.... probably wasn't likely, but if the two of them apologized enough, Peophynnia might be placated enough not to start in on a lecture. And a lecture would totally ruin the wonderful day Dolci was having so far!
"We could try sneaking pastries from Gin," she said in thought, treading through the water backwards to inch towards the shoreline. "Or we could raid the orchard again for lunch." Though that didn't sound nearly as delicious as what they would be having if she hadn't been so silly as to knock flour all over everything.
"You're always hungry." Came out in a kind voice. That was just like the pot calling the kettle black! Dolci herself was usually hungry, and hungry for sweets more often than not. "I'm sure we can figure something out, though!"

"Maybe if we ask nicely, Gin will share a few of his treats with us and yes, you won." Yuuki smiled and started to make his way back toward the shallow water, setting his feet down when he felt the gravel scraping against his hooves.
After he regained his footing, he pushed himself up onto all fours, walking out of the water carefully and up to the grass to shake off, scattering water droplets everywhere before swishing his tail back and forth to get some of the water off of it as well. 'Swimming works up an appetite! I can't help it. Besides, you promised me an apple pie." Yuuki nodded once, tossing his head back to get a few loose strands of hair from his mane out from over his eyes.
"I guess we could just get a few pieces of fruit from the orchard, Peophynnia is probably waiting for us to make an appearance."

After Yuuki started off towards the shoreline, Dolci quickly followed behind. Swimming as fast as she could to catch up until she could trot across the soft gravel in the more shallow waters.
"I did promise you apple pie," she replied thoughtfully as she slowly emerged from the lake. "Maybe Gin can help me with that." If Gin didn't have apple pie handy, which was hard to believe since he seemed to like sweets even more than she did, he could probably provide an oven and ingredients so she could make it herself.
If, perhaps, she promised (and crossed her heart) not to make a mess.
"We can get some apples, and take them to Gin." Moving up beside Yuuki after she spoke, Dolci smiled wide. "If we promise to give him some, I bet he'd let me bake for you in his kitchen."
But as soon as she stopped speaking, Dolci ducked her head and started to shake. Drying herself off and sending water in streams off her coat -- and right onto Yuuki next to her.

Yuuki stared at her flatly for a moment, the drops off water that she was shaking off were hitting him in the face and he laughed quietly. "I guess I'm just not meant to stay dry. You're lucky you are cute, or else I'd have to make you pay for that."
He shook is fur out again, dragging one of his front hooves against the grass absently. "I forgot about Gin, I'm sure he would agree to it as long as he got a slice of the pie." He nodded once, moving closer to her to duck his head down and nuzzle her slowly. "Especially after I tell him how good of a cook you are."

 For what felt like the nine hundred and fifty-fifth time, Dolci's skin flushed bright pink under her matching colored fur. She craned her head, leaned in and nuzzled Yuuki back after he complimented her.
"Those shortcakes were nothing," she replied quietly, speaking only loudly enough for him to be able to hear her. "If I hadn't been so clumsy, you'd really see how good of a cook I am."
But that would come! If Gin agreed, then she still had time to show Yuuki how good of a cook she was. She would bake the most magnificent pie for him, with a pretty lattice crust and golden edges and warm cinnamon-y apple filling, topped with powdered sugar and a big dollop of fresh cream...
Mm....
Before Dolci could make herself desperately hungry, she leaned in even closer to Yuuki and pressed a kiss to his neck. Her smile was bright, though her head was hidden from view, and she mumbled again lightly.
"Let's go get some apples."

Yuuki smiled slightly and nodded once, returning the kiss quickly before leaning up to start walking back toward the pasture. "How many apples do we need to make an apple pie?"
He peeked back at her over his shoulder, watching her absently. "Do you think we will need fifty? I've never made one before, maybe we should get something to carry them in first or maybe we should talk to Gin about it before we start gathering everything for it just in case he for some strange reason says no."
Yuuki nodded once, scrunching his face up for a moment getting lost in thought. If Gin says no, then Yuuki will feed him to the wolves, nothing was going to stop him from getting some pie!!! ...Apple pie.

"Fifty?!" Dolci laughed loudly at that and moved to trot after him, taking long strides to meet him in the grass. "No, we definitely don't need fifty apples for one pie. Six or so would probably be more than enough. Unless you want me to make you more than one pie."
Ducking her head to nudge at his flank, she steered Yuuki up onto the pasture. How would they even carry fifty apples? They'd have to load up a couple packs, and maybe a basket or two, and probably still have to carry some in their mouths!
"Though you're probably right. Getting something to carry them in first would be a good idea. Maybe if we mention the pie first, Gin will give us a basket to gather them in." If only she'd saved the little paper bag she'd carried her shortcakes in! "You'd be too tempted to eat them before we got to Gin's house if you carried them in your mouth," she added, playfully.
For being covered in a pattern of goldfish, Yuuki certainly had a fondness for apples, didn't he? Apples and swimming and fighting off snarling wolves single-handed. ...single-hoofed. It occurred to her then, as she turned slowly to move away from the orchard, leading towards Gin's home, that Yuuki definitely needed a nickname.
Appleseed... mm, no. Applecore? Applebottom.. applefish? Blinking, she lost herself in thought as she walked, pursing her lips.

"We should get fifty anyway, I'll eat the extras!" He nodded once, trotting alongside her absently, his tail swooshing back and forth as they made their way through the pasture, looking around every now and then to make sure Peophynnia wasn't lurking in the shadows, waiting to pounce on them the moment they showed their faces.

Hm.. The Big Apple? That'd be silly. What about other kinds of apple... There are Gala (not fitting), Fuji (hm.. maybe not), Red Delicious (too long for a nickname!), Granny Smith (err..)...
Stumped momentarily, Dolci's ears perked when she heard him speaking again. "You aren't allowed to eat them before I make the pie! It'll just be crust and nothing else without the apples."
Spying Gin's house in the distance, Dolci eyed it for a moment. She squinted at the squat building and then, because it had occurred to her too, she swept the area with her gaze to make sure Peophynnia wasn't around. After all, her house was only a few hundred yards from Gin's.
"Maybe...." she started in a hushed whisper. "....maybe you stay here, and I'll run over to Gin's. I'll make it quick, okay? I don't want Peophynnia to yell at you if she pops up, it wasn't your fault."
And without waiting for an answer, Dolci went off running like a bright pink streak. Making a beeline for Gin's home.

Yuuki blinked once and before he could answer, Dolci was gone. Snorting quietly, he leaned back to take a seat next to one of the trees, kicking at the grass lazily.
Just because it wasn't his fault didn't mean Dolci should take all the blame, the coast looked clear though, there was no sign of Peophynnia, she was probably still trying to clean the flour up off of the floor. She was definitely going to be mad when they finally did run into her. He shuddered at the thought, he was not looking forward to that at all.
He was however, looking forward to some apple pie, he was tempted to collect enough apples for Dolci to make two or three and just eat one himself.

Creeping over towards Gin's house, she moved as stealthily as she could. She was careful not to step on any fallen twigs that would crack under her hooves, or trip on a rock and face-plant in the grass, or even take long enough steps to make much noise when her foot set back down on the earth.
To someone looking at it from the outside, it would appear as if Dolci was trying to break into Gin's house!
But it wasn't that at all! In fact, as she stepped around to the side of the small building, she realized she didn't even have to bother Gin at all just yet!
For a small basket was sitting there, with a few dried leftover leaves inside of it. Perhaps Gin went flower picking a few days ago and left it outside....
Didn't matter though! Because Dolci was all too happy to trot over, sneak under the open window, bite down onto the handle of the basket and whisk it away quickly.
She trotted back over towards Yuuki and smiled brightly around the wicker handle in her mouth, staying a few feet ahead of him and gesturing with a nod of her head to the side towards the orchard.
Time for apples!
