"Monk, eh? Can't say I've had the pleasure of meeting her yet. Is she coming tonight?"
Even if she was timid about getting back into the instrument, the company could be nice.

"Yes, I saw her at the refreshment table before. I'm not sure where she now." Pie mused, rubbing her chin again.
Pie noticed Ash checking Hayley out. Her grin turned into a smug one as she stepped towards Hayley. She whispered into her ear. "I think Ash was checking our your goods."

Hayley smiled at Pie's words.
"Heh, I highly doubt that. With a face like this, that's not the attention I tend to get...." She glanced over in Ash's general direction to see that he was, in fact, subtly glancing at her.
"I'll be damned."
She wasn't entirely sure what to do with the situation. Male attention usually came at her in the form of brotherly love and nothing more. Built like she was with the scars she had, most potential suitors were intimidated more than anything else. Guys didn't generally like it when their date is fully capable of taking them down. That and, well, the dead eye was less than attractive to most.

Pie grinned and patted Hayley on the back, "Psh Hayley you need to get used to our town. We look passed the mechanical parts since they're common." She looked at her new friend, giving her a glance over. Nice athletic shape, cute face despite the scar and her two toned eyes and a redhead. Pie guessed by the scar and her dislike of her face that she had something mechanical up there.
Her curiosity pushed her to ask, "By the way, why did you transfer to Aekea?"

A certain sadness could be seen in her eyes for an instant, but it disappeared quickly. She didn't like the metal she had lodged in her skull, but at least it had brought her here. "About a year ago there was an incident, and I came out of it in less than perfect shape. I lost my eye, and that alone was grounds for my removal from the Elite Force over in Barton. I didn't exactly like the prospect of losing my job, so I sought alternatives. I found a lab here that said they could recreate my eye for me. I was hesitant, sure, but it was really the only chance I had, so I went through with it. I got reinstated after that, after some tests to be sure I was still competent, but after a little while I missed the time I had spent adapting to the prosthetic here. I also recalled a complete lack of any organized system for protecting the city, and I thought you could use my services."She smiled. "After a few phone calls to the higher ups and an interview or two I was handed the keys to the HQ and told to get cracking. And here I am."

Pieta listened intensely, frowning at how cruel fate was. She was starting to see why Hayley was sensitive about her eye. But, Pie felt a certain kinship with the guard captain, having lost her own eye and arm in the womb. She nodding about Hayley's view on protecting the city, Aekean never had a Guard before. Mixed feelings were heard from the gossip hounds at the bakery. Pie herself was happy the Guard was being created, too long had Aekea been without protection. She felt it was time to reveal her own missing eye.
Pie spoke up, "It's unfortunate that you lose your eye. I've been down the road with getting used to a prosthetic. I had to go through a dozen different modes eyes before finding one that was just right."
Her frown turned back into a smile, "But, I bet the townsfolk will appreciate your services. Aekea needs protecting."

Hayley grinned. It seemed like just about everyone around these parts had their own tales of woe and mechanical scars to bear. It was a certainly a comfort. "I'm glad you think so. I wasn't sure how the locals would feel about an outsider like me taking control of the force. So far things seem to be going well."She was worried, though. She came to Aekea to assist in any way the city needed, but she knew that many could easily see it as her imposing herself onto an established way of life. This was one of the major reasons she wanted volunteers from the city on her staff.

A lanky cyborg trod into the room, his eye flicking back and forth amoungst the crowd, desperately hoping to spot a familiar face. As what only could be described as panic, Ace's mind raced to compute the amount of people, space, and quickest exit routes. He shook his head to himself at his foolishness as he searched for something to clear his mind. Spotting the bar, he targetted it, and slowly trod over, his mind array with calculations. Ace had suffered his own trials and tribulations during his short life as a true human. Before becoming a mechanical child, and seeking refuge in Aekea, Ace had been a warrior, trained in several forms of martial arts and weapons based combat. However, his career changed nearly as violently as his appearance and inners had. As Ace neared the bar, his mind snapped back into a regular view, which was when he spotted the two females chatting it up. He wasn't really accustomed to strangers, especially so now that there were both vampires, and the machines he was growing to know. In that moment, he was to decide whether to awkwardly move away, or approach them, and hope they wouldn't say anything to him. He paused for a second, before deciding that a bit of contact might do him some good. He slid in behind Pie, hoping to go unnoticed, but fully knowing that anyone who looked like him couldn't.

"Most are pretty pleased with the idea of a Guard HQ. Or a least that's what the grapevine says. The other negative nacies will just need to get used to it, which shouldn't be long." She gave a friendly nod,
"And that's wonderful, keep your finger's crossed that it stays that way." Pie smiled, trying to make Hayley feel welcomed. I hope she doesn't run into any red tape. thought Pie. She didn't notice the approaching cyborg as she chatted with the guard captain.

"Thanks, Pieta, I mean it." She smiled. If public reception was good, one of her biggest fears in moving here was quelled. She spotted the moderately awkward cyborg looking at them from behind Pieta and decided to welcome him in to the conversation. "Hi there! Are you a friend of Pieta's here?"

Approaching Pieta from behind, PQ lightly rested her hand on the cyborg's shoulder. "I hope the new guard is up to your standards." Her tone was a mixture of teasing and apology.

Pieta glanced over her shoulder and was surprised to not just find PQ but, another cyborg behind her. She smiled and greeted both of them with a wave. She hadn't seen the large cyborg before.
She replied to PQ, "I hope so. And now that your not running around. Would you like to greet the new guard captain?"
She smiled then spoke to the male cyborg, "May I ask who you are? I think I've seen you around town."

Ace's eyes widened slightly, mildly terrified by the strange amount of attention he had acheived. He silently cursed to himself, before looking around the small group. "Uhh.. Hello.." He started timidly, still scanning their eyes nervously. "Uhm, I'm Ace, the mechanic from the outskirts of Aekea." He answered to the female in front of him, before turning to see PQ. He had in fact met her before, but it had been ages ago, before he lost both of his eyes; he had only ever got around to fixing one. The other lay under the protective covering of a black patch. "My appologies in advance, as I do not get out quite much at all, but if you don't mind me asking, who are you all?"

Hayley first looked to Ace, feeling bad for having seemingly put the poor guy on the spot. "Heh. You're not the only one, mate. This is really only my first night out since getting here. My name is Hayley, I just moved here from Barton. It's nice to meet you." She tipped her hat to the timid mechanic. "As for you," she said, turning to PQ, "it looks like we got cut short last time we tried to do this, so let's just stars fresh, shall we? I'm Hayley, it's nice to finally meet you."

In the room two doors down where Edmund and Louie were stationed, Gera was looking out the window, viewing the skyline with lively red eyes. She had been one of the first to arrive at the party, but had decided to keep low for just a while. She wanted to save her energy for when a certain group arrived....
"Too bad Zestrel-kun couldn't make it....Then again, he doesn't really like formal parties...."
Gera chuckled to herself. In her eyes, it was rather ironic, since most princes had to deal with balls and other types of formal shindigs. Well, most Gaian princes....
"Balls must not of been that important to Arachnians...."
Another chuckle from the cyborg before she went back to looking outside and waiting for her group. How she loved her silly spider....
"Hakobe really wanted to see him tonight, though....Well, at least she'll get to see me....and I'll get to talk with P-Bot again...."
