Zach looked at Katlyn for a moment and then nodded. "Most of the telepaths that come here start by spending a great deal of their time either in their rooms or in the library. You might want to start their, as few people are actually there when classes are not being held." He could understand why she wanted to leave. His thoughts were enough a jumble to sort through and most people who read them typically walked off with a head ache. Sometimes he gave himself a head ache...

"Thank you!" Katlyn said. He smiled in thanks and walked off. Unlike the rest of the school, she had memorized where the libary was. Mostly because she was planning on getting some alone time even without her power. She loved to read, and if the libary had enough books, she would probably be there every spare moment. She walked into the libary and into the blessed silence of the large room. She smiled contently and wondered where to start.

Every now and then, Daria would have the most interesting sensation. It was as if she had a sixth sense, a feeling that she could tell that someone was watching her. Now was one of those times. Stopping abruptly in her typing, she looked up at a familiar face, apparently intrigued by the book she had laying on the desk beside her arm. Since she'd already tried to initiate a conversation more than once with the new student, his apparent animosity towards anything in the school made it rather dificult for Daria to be her usual charming self. " You again." She honestly tried to sound happy, as though she were surprised to see him, but even to her ears, the words sounded flat and certainly not welcoming. Wincing inside, she noted his preocupation with her book. " Have you read the others yet?" This being a subject of interest, her tone of voice sincerely improved.

Tren quirked an eyebrow at her first comment towards him and shrugged it off when she asked abotu the books. "Yeah... I just finished that eairlier I'm on the next in the series... what about you?" He asked, He wasn't exactly social and talking to someone like this was a strain, looking at her.

((Cool character in your sig, which Rp is it to Jan?)) Daria's dolphin smile grew a bit wider at the teenager's response. Perhaps he wasn't so bad after all, she should really try to stop judging off first impressions. "I just got this one...I can't wait to see how it turns out..." She wondered if he'd always been antisocial, or if he'd acquired it somehow..like one acquires trust or even instinct. " And no telling me how it ends!" She added, teasingly, her smile growing wider yet. That had happened enough for her to get seriously aggravated with some people.

Name: Koriyoko (Kori) Severen Alias: Tigra Age: 16 Gender: Female Power: Cat like abilities such as heightened senses, etc... she also has some telekinetic abilities that she can't control. It only shows when she becomes very angry and is only limited to something small flying across the room, glass shattering, or a door slamming shut. *Training: (Optional) Jeet Kundo Appearance: (You may post a picture, but it isn't necessary. Just write what your character looks like) She looks like the picutre, tattooes and all..the picture was drawn by my friend. Her eyes are green and looks like cat eyes and her blue streaks she did herself. Whose Side Are You On: (Professor X or Magneto?)Professor X First Post, Should Include A Background Story: Kori ran as fast as she could until she reached the shadows of an alley. She could still hear the shouts and demands of the cops that were following her causing a small smirk to play across her face as she struggled to catch her breath. She looked down at the money she had taken from that man walking down the street; counting each bill. Koriyoko Severen had been living on the streets and struggling to survive since the day of her mother's murder which she remembered like it was yesterday. Kori walked home from school after visiting with her friends with a bright smile on her face from passing her chem exam with an A. She walked to her front door and froze when she saw the burn marks upon the inside frame. Slowly, she walked into the small house to look for her mother. "Mom?" she called out, but nothing could be heard. She searched everywhere until finally she made it to her mother's bedroom upstairs. The door was slightly ajar, so she pushed it opened further and dropped all her school items to the floor. Her mother lay at the foot of her bed in a puddle of blood; her eyes staring up lifelessly toward the cieling. A blood curdling cry resounded from Kori's lips and that's when something inside of Kori started to grow as the glass from the window and the picture frames shattered on thier on accord. She fell backward onto the floor, scooting back so that her back was securely against the wall in the corner.
When the authorities arrived, Kori was still huddled in the corner in a state of shock and the tiger had disappeared back inside of her. A female cop kneeled down beside Kori with a warm sympathetic smile.
"Can you tell me your name?" she spoke softly. Kori looked up slightly with a still shocked look on her face.
"K...K...kori," she finally managed to say.
"Okay, Kori, do you know who did this?" she asked. Tears spilled from Kori's eyes as the initial shock finally wore off.
"No," she cried.
"Okay, calm down I still need you to answer a few more questions....where's your father?" she asked.
"I don't have one.....well I do, but I never met him...I don't even know his name," Kori managed through her sobs.
"Do you have any other family," the cop asked. Kori shook her head no and continued to cry.
By that night, Kori was placed in a temporary foster home until one came open that would take her in. The third one she was sent to she ran away from due to her foster father's violent and abusive tendencies; leading her to where she is now. Homeless, alone, chased by the cops, and a freak of nature. Kori stood up with the cash in her hands, a small smirk still on her face. She turned to walk out of the alley when she suddenly looked down the barrel of a gun. "Come quietly or I will shoot you," the male cop said. Kori smirked and went to turn the other way, but it was no use; she was surrounded. Kori was placed in the local jail until the authorities could decide what to do with the sixteen year old. She lazily stood up and began to pace in a bored manner until one of the cops came walking in. "Koriyoko," he called out. "Yeah, that's me," Kori said smuggishly. The cop opened the cell and took her by the arm. "You're coming with me, someone was kind enough to post your bail," the cop stated. "Are you sure you have the right person? I don't know anyone," Kori stated. The cop just led her to another room with a table and a man in a wheelchair sat at one end with a dark skinned woman with pure white hair sat beside him. Kori walked further into the room to take the seat that sat on the other side of the man. She watched as the cop left and then turned her attention toward the man in the wheelchair. "Who are you?" Kori asked rudely. "I am Proffessor Charles Xavier and this is Orora Munroe. We are from Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters," the man called Xavier explained. Kori grew a blank expression and crossed her arms across her chest. "So? What does that have to do with me?" "You have a gift Kori....we want to help you learn to use it," the professor stated. "What if I don't want to use it? What if I just want to forget that I'm a freak?" Kori growled. "You're not a freak Kori, You're gifted," Ms. Munroe chimed in. "Dude, I'm about as gifted as a pencil. Sorry, but I think you're wasting your time and mine," Kori snapped and then got up to leave. "But Kori we can help you," Ms. Munroe pressed. Kori turned around with rage flaming in her cat-like eyes causing a small pencil that sat on the table to fly against the wall. The two that had come for her seemed unphased by the small phenomonon[sp?]. "I don't need, nor have I asked for your help. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself," she growled trying to calm her anger. "Very well, the choice is strictly up to you. I'll have the guard come escort you back to your cell," the professor sighed causing a look of confusion to cover Kori's face. "But I thought you posted my bail?" she asked. "We did, but the deal was you come with us or you stay here. You're a minor Kori; you were to be placed in foster care again come morning, which I'm sure you'll run away from and wind up in the same shape you are in now," The professor said. Kori hesitated a moment as she thought about what he said. She really didn't want to go back to foster care to just have to run away again and wondering when she was going to eat or anything else. She rolled her eyes in defeat and sat back down in the chair. "So....there are really others like me?" she asked, seeming more interested than she did a moment ago. "Yes, there are," the professor smiled warmly.

Kori sat in her new room at the school she was to live at now. Normally this would be the time where she would be unpacking to settle in, but seeming as how she had nothing there really wasn't anything for her to do but just sit and stare at the wall.
"This is stupid and absolutely boring," Kori muttered irritably to herself. She got up from the small bed and walked out of the room to see what she could find to do.

((If I'm not mistaken, there is a piano in the recreation room, along with a pool table and other things. What my character is about to do, I can actually do in reality, so it's not just a character thing))
Kori walked through the corridors of the mansion, still looking for something to do when she came upon the recreation room. There was a couch, Television, pool table and some other games, but what caught her attention was the small piano that sat mostly by itself. She walked over to it and sat down on the bench where the sheet music to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata sat laid out on the piano's music stand. She opened the lid to reveal the eighty-eight keys that lay underneath and the thoughts of her mother started to flood her mind. Her mother had taught her to play before she died.
Kori looked toward all the notes that consisted of mainly 16th and eighth notes with very few quarter and whole notes. She lay her hands on the piano and began to play the music that was written on the sheet, allowing the sweet melody to flow through her and to ease her troubled mind.

((Ah, good! I believe you! I play the piano as well, but I can't read notes to save my life. I learned to play by ear.)) Daria nearly laughed, apparently no one had ever told him how a book ended. Of course how it ruined the lovely job the writer had done, leading up to the climax, wasn't something that was easily explained. Daria nodded her head as he pulled out a chair, more out of courteous habit. It was rare that she tried to atagonize someone purposefully. "Well, there's classes to go to every day, but I'm guessin' you mean for fun." Daria paused momentarily, "There's the Recreation Hall, it has all sorts of entertaining devices. Plus, if you want to learn some stuff that I'd doubt your parents ever allowed, you could go to the Training room. Mr. Logan teaches classes in self-defense there." Daria wondered if his departure from home had been as easy as hers. From his demeanor, she gathered that it probably wasn't, and it was more than likely that his parents were at the core of the problem. Probably a topic to steer clear of.

Zach nodded and watched as Katlyn left. Once more this day, he was alone with his powers. Incidentally, his powers were the closest friend that Zach had. Besides his brilliant mental faculties, wealth of knowledge, immense skills in wide varieties of subjects, generic anti-social behavior, and lack of contractions, his powers were the biggest thing that he saw that defined who he was. It seemed rather suiting as well, that those with particular personality types were coupled with complimentary abilities. It just made sense. He could not even grasp a person with the ability to control water, yet being a hydrophobic at the same time. That would be akin to a aerophobia bird. It just did not happen. Daria did seem to be particularly fond of water... At the thought, Zach snapped his fingers and tossed a stream of colorful sparks into the air, forming them into a ball of water, and then watched as it splashed onto the ground. He stood and stared at the water spot on the ground for several moments, then looked up and across the yard to where Daria and one of the new students were talking. Could she be able to control water that he created? Did her power relate to the effects of a hydrogen bond with oxygen? Or would his power be a different basis than one that could interact with hers? Some sort of ethereal substance mimicking water? Zach knelt down and dipped his finger in one of the little puddles and tasted it. It tasted like water, it looked, it felt, it behaved like water. He chewed on his lip and then stood up again and decided what ever it was that he was thinking about was rather pointless and unproductive. How would it matter what his or her power stemmed from if the results were what was relevant. Zach stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked back inside, where the fresh air could not plague his mind with intricate and unsolvable thoughts.

Kori sat at the piano long after the song had ended; wondering exactly what she was going to do. She thought about talking to the others that were like her, but then that would mean she would have to give up her cold demeanor and that was something she was not prepared to do. She stood up with a heavy sigh and walked toward the pool table where the balls lay scattered about the top from an unfinished game. She leaned against the table and stared at the eight ball, trying to get it to move. The best it did was tremble a bit, so she tried again and again...until she got angry and it flew up at her. Luckily, her cat like senses aloud her to catch it before it did any damage.
"great...all the powers in the world and I get the lamest out of all of them," Kori rolled her eyes in frustration as she laid the eight ball back on the table.
((wow, that's talented. I've taken lessons since I was six. My aunt played by ear and by notes, but she died recently and left all her sheet music and piano to me. Now I have to figure out what to do with my other two pianos *sigh*))

Daria was on the verge of telling him that he'd been much to busy hosting a pity-party earlier, but changed her mind at the last minute. He was just starting to open up, and whereas that might make one of her friends laugh, she wasn't sure what level of humor this kid operated on. "No, I don't think so. It's pretty much the control of water." Daria glanced over her shoulder quickly to see if the librarian was looking her way before turning back to the new student beside her. "See?" She cupped her hand and drew water from the air. A few seconds later, the air was quite a bit drier, and a water dancer about 2 inches tall stood in her palm and began to dance. Sure, it was the second time that day, but it was the most interesting way to display her power. A slight pull of pain tugged at Daria's concentration after about a minute. Her arm. A couple moments later, it completely broke down her concentration, sending the water flying, accompanied by a low, sharp intake of breath...into her companions face. "It was an accident, I swear!" She whispered by way of apology.
