Silence loomed over the paladin as she thought over of what he said. Loki... Where had she heard that name before? However, if what Octavio had said was true, then it would explain what a fine mess they were in.
But how to defeat a god? Weren't gods supposed to be immortal? And yet, he said that he wasn't. What was it about this Loki character? She would admit that he was a mystery to her. However, she couldn't deny the fact that he created this mess for them.
She had never battled a god before.... However, if there was a way to defeat him, then everything would be back to normal.
Isadora looked up to Octavio and said. "If what you've said is true, then we must gather our strength and energy to defeat him. I don't know how we can defeat him. However, I can't wait for peace to come back onto this land."

"Yes. I agree." He said, directing his words now to Isadora. "We need to gather our strength and go to him. Hopefully he won't be expecting us. And maybe... There are enough of us to end this... For the honor of this land.. So that he doesn't bring us to extinction. He is in the mountains. It won't be that long of a walk, but I suggest we prepare first... A lot..."

Amelia's eyes widened. Loki. Always that goddamned Loki. Her throat seized up, and she held on tighter to her breakfast. To kill a god? How was that even possible? Amelia closed her eyes. She thought of the monsters at winter, sent by his hand... his form, wreathed in flame and darkness, forcing its way into her mind... she shivered. And now this, lending the previously-good Mika her power and, presumably, her ill will towards them.
Amelia opened her eyes. She put the food she had been eating in Victoria's hand; she was clearly hungrier than she, and suddenly the General had no appetite. "What sort of preparation do we need?" she asked Octavio. Her eyes smoldered, a raw determination burning behind large green irises. "Vulneraries? New weapons? I'll help however I can. If we're going to take that son of a b***h down, I'm not about to sit around and watch."

Octavio looked up. "Yes... Heal yourselves. Rest up. Eat.. And prepare for battle. Get your weapons. Your best weapons. Do everything you have to... We must be completely prepared..." He jumped down off of the rock. "I need to get myself a better weapon. I'm going to be gone for a bit.. I'll be back in a few hours. All I've got is Elfire and my staff right now..."

"Zzzzz..." Rhys snored softly, echoing Amelia's words. "Zzzz..."
No, he was still out of it. It looked as though he wasn't running a fever, at least. Other than collapsing in that thicket from exhaustion, he seemed alright.
He had the vague sensation of his head pressing up against armor as Amelia held him to her chest, but he wasn't about to wake up for that one.
"Zzzz..." he snored again, taking Octavio's words to heart.

"Powerful we'pons? Fightin' 'gainst the Gods?" Leon echoed, as he and Anri made a slow trot over to Octavio, whom had now got everyone's attention and was... exiting. "An' he be the one causin' ev'ythin'... this Loki... it be explanin' a lotta details I didn't get. No wonder them heroes still be 'live, ya know? They be parta necromancy, no doubt, an' this Mika be just a lil' toy to 'im, unforgiv'ble!" Oh, how Leon hated it when superiors used their subordinates like puppets. That was one of the many reminders of his past that made him grateful for his present. "An' if ya don't mind me sayin' so... I be strong... but I know I ain't a legend. I can raise morale, I can be defeatin' morphs all day... but these heroes, they be on a different level... and they be on 'is side."
"If only there was some way to convince them to at least return to our side...." Sue blinked. And then she thought of 'her best weapon'. Myulgre... the sacred bow of winds, her birthright and inheritence.. and weapon on the pathway to being a great Chief just like her father was. "I will use Myulgre's arrows for sure." she told everyone. "And... with you all... I shall see this through to the end. Leon, I'm no legend either... but we all still have to try. You said we must believe."
"Yeah, I did. An' we do gotta try, 'cuz if we don't, there ain't nothin' left." The knight replied. "But still... fightin' a God... it be unreal an' not what I be expectin'. This'll be the hardest battle I ever fought, but... I ain't dyin'. I took an oath, and I be keepin' it... everyone."

Amelia turned her eyes down to Rhys as he snored. He was still asleep. Amelia shifted a little, removing her shoulderguards and resting his cheek there. That'd be more comfortable, wouldn't it? Amelia rubbed his back slowly, letting him sleep as Octavio walked away to get more equipment.
"...My bow and Killer Lance are at the manor..." Amelia murmured. "My own armor, too... and I can't get at any of it..." She cast her eyes down in regret, keeping Rhys close. She didn't speak any further, just let him continue his snoring.

"I can sharpen my sword," Isadora spoke. "However, I need a new spear in case my weapon breaks. My spear was broken by Evelyn's mount."
Isadora went over and picked up her food. Even though she wanted to rest, she need food too to create energy and strength. It was a way for knights to rejuvenate. "I don't know how we would be able to get new weapons and healing supplies... However, we also need to rest and save our energy. We have a long way to go if we want to end this war."

Nino plopped down on the ground in thought. Her good weapons were in her room... At the castle.. In practically a war zone. "I want to use Leander's staff... It's been sitting in my room for ages... But it's back at the castle... All I've got is an old elfire."

Alihi blinked. All their problems would go away... if they defeat this one god-like man? It sounded so good... almost too good to be true! She should have been enthusiastic to help!
A squirming little girl in her lap, though, reminded her of all the reasons that she shouldn't go.
The tactician sighed quietly, remaining otherwise silent; she couldn't go this time. She couldn't leave Amara behind again after already doing so countless times, all for reasons that now seemed stupid. She didn't want to even think of her daughter crying once more because of her. Well, that one time wasn't... but that's not the point. Alihi shook her head and held the child closer to her chest, keeping her warm as the tactician shivered. The truth stung, but she needed to get her priorities straightened out.
"If... anyone needs a sword, they can borrow my rapier. I'm sorry to say that I won't be following..." Her dark eyes drifted to the sleeping child in her arms before looking back up and giving whoever was looking at her an apologetic nod. "I wish you all the best of luck and success, though."
She is a mother before a fighter, no matter how hard she tries to change that fact.

It was still early morning, and Loch had decided to fly back the direction he'd come to meet Jyoti. The rain had long stopped - he guessed it had been a freak weather occurance for that area only - but his clothes and hair were still drenched. As he flew over the forest at the base of the nearby mountains, Jyoti's words echoed through his mind.
"I'm happy because I'm not alone."
Loch's stomach churned. Her words were sincere enough, but his impression prevented her from believing her. Holy Valkryies were holy because they were, well, good. They harnessed the power of light. It was so, so disturbing that the only reads of aura he got off of her were darkness. It was an eerie vibe he'd gotten from the others he'd encountered, too. He'd chalked it up with Evelyn to the fact that she was a practitioner of elder magics, and with Misura as coincidence. But Jyoti was too much to just displace from his mind.
He was distracted by the readings of many people gathered not so far away. Injured, sorrowful people. It was too much to resist, so he altered his flight path and set off towards them. As he came to the edge of the forest, he saw them gathered at a campsite. Familiar faces - the paladin and the sage, he recognized. Loch descended upon them, casually withdrawing his Mend staff.
"By Goddess," he murmured, "You all look terrible..."

Nino looked up at the heron. "Um... Yes, we just came out of a gigantic battle... And now we've got to prepare for another..."

Loki? One man army? It was all too much for Ephraim to comprehend. Some of them knew who this 'Loki' was but Ephraim has absolutely no idea who he or she was.
"Get your weapons. Your best weapons.
As soon as those words were said, Ephraim froze for a good few minutes. Reginleif was in his room..and his room was...well, you know the story. Spear in room, Room at manor and blah blah blah. He frowned, knowing this was another battle he'd have to sit out on. Man, sitting still wasn't exactly the Prince's idea of 'helping'. He sunk down on the tree while wearing a frown upon his face.

Chickenwire followed the river at a fast trot. The men in the back would have to put up with the clanking of the spare weapons and armor they were bringing-- silver through iron, whatever they could, Watch armor in as many sizes as they could spare, staves and tomes of all sorts. No sign of a big ol' dragon... but smoke rising!
He snapped the reins a short while later as they turned the corner and pulled into the campsite, amid fervor and mayhem as everyone took stock. Steely Dan was the first to climb down off the cart, walking slowly toward the congregation around the campfire.
"Oy!" he called, his voice booming as he planted his Zweihänder point-down in the dirt. "Who be in charge 'ere, eh? Weapons an' reinforcemen's, now tell me wot th'fook's goin' down," he muttered, nodding to Leon as he approached the fire and sat.
