"Does it really matter?" the man asked evenly, "I don't care who it is that I'm working for, Lex, just as long as I am compensated for said work. Now, should I come by to discuss details, or will I be contacted with assignments?"
Kara frowned slightly, an expression of concentration rather than anger.

Lex locked eyes with Supergirl again, and said, "Come by, by all means. We have things to discuss." He'd need her to go to the sattelite as soon as he was done on the phone, in order to not get caught.

"Supergirl, wait a moment," Lex said, a very strange look of sincerity on his face, "You won't believe me when I say this, but I understand the position accepting puts you in, and I appreciate it. This will greatly improve our chances of taking down the JLA, and those other heroes that'll inevitably try to stop us." With that, the usual smug, self-centered look of Luthor appeared. "No go, before you get caught. This hinges on only me knowing that you're now Mockingbird."

Luthor watched out the window for a moment, then went over to a computer monitor. Pulling up a live stream of the sattelite, he watched her arrive. Something else also caught his eye. Green Lantern was there, facing a spaceship of some sort. Hm, an interesting situation. Well, there's an interesting solution to that, too. Opening up a program called 'BT:Y', Lex entered the coordinates, and pressed 'initiate'. He then closed the window and the stream. Things needed to get done. He grabbed a briefcase, filled with one billion dollars. Hope and Mercy must have gotten the memo for it already, or they were watching surveillance. Good. All that was left was to wait for the Terminator.

"Hm... Is Sinestro a potential candidate, then?" a low voice asked. Deathstroke was leaning against a nearby wall, mostly hidden in shadow. There was no indication of how long he'd been there... or how much he'd seen.

"No, he's not. He's been found much too difficult to cooperate with," Lex replied. "It was a circus getting him to join our Secret Society a few years ago, if you'll remember. Since that fell apart, it'll be even harder now." Luthor turned around to face the source of the voice. "Terminator. Mockingbird is glad that you have reconsidered. As am I. You're someone I can trust to get the job done."

Lex began, saying, "You said that you had reconsidered. Mockingbird was initially against taking you after your initial rejection, but I talked him into reconsidering, as well. I understand how much of an asset you'd be with us. Having defeated us once before, Mockingbird was skeptical. He's letting me reextend to you your invitation. Do you have any terms you wish to counter-offer?"

Deathstroke shrugged. "Usual fee, plus 100 grand. This are dangerous times we live in, Mr. Luthor, and I expect to be compensated accordingly."
