Go for it Wynaro, but it might not get those kinds of people in this guild. It would have to be in Barton Town.
Nice story Rab!

That was someone who applied at one of her role-plays. xD When she asked for a sample of his RPing skills he totally flipped out on her.

Wow, Rab. I had something like that happen to me. I've been a part of a Bleach RPing guild for about two years now, and as the captain of Squad Nine, they designated me the best RPer in the guild. Yes, the best in the guild of some 400 people. Thus, I get called in a lot on disputes. So now it's story time; I'll share one of the worst ones with you.
So recently I was challenged to a fight by this guy who is a fifth seat in rank, out of ten total spots, the lower the better. I am the Captain, and therefore the number one seed. My character has his main focus on speed (and he's the fastest around), but this guy thought that his fifth seat skill would be enough to defeat me. I decided I would humor him, and we began our fight. Little did I know he'd been going around for a month before this telling everyone how bad I am at writing, how my character is one giant godmod, and how he'd put me in my place.
The fight happens. I use the skills that I PRPed for weeks and weeks to get, and he called a godmod on me in the first post because I "moved too fast!!!!11!one!" Yeah, no. He called in another mod, got his complaint overturned, then tried to godmod and autohit on the reply.
Since I'm the mod who takes care of 99% of godmod cases, I called him on it, referenced his profile and current seat to show why he couldn't dodge my attack so easily, and then politely asked him to edit.
He threw a s**t fit all over the OOC and quit the guild. That is ridiculous, in my opinion. He challenged ME, and then when I started to win, he backs out.

oooo I want to see the flip-out PM!
Fefnir-Ouch, that is... dumb. There just aren't words. Even dogs know something as basic as to look before crossing a road. That is even more basic and more lack of it.

...Only half of that post showed up. The end of the story is that he came back a week later, we finished the fight, I destroyed him utterly due to the power difference between our characters, and he's still whining about it.

In the human world both of you are weakened, no? Even without the seals. The seal would affect the captain more than the 5th seat, right?

xD That guy sounds like a grade-A douche bag, Fenrir. I can't say I understand the different designations, but it sounds like you guys had it well-structured. He was stupid to not play by the rules. Good job wiping the floor with him. smile

Normally, yes, both of us would have been weaker, but I more so. However, in any PRP instance of a fight, there are no seals placed.
To clarify the power difference, it would be like a person who was a natural at martial arts but had only been practicing for a year or two attempting to defeat a black belt. Yeah, I recently found out he has three other characters who were banned for godmodding.

Rabscuttle I gotta story! And rummaged through old OOC posts for textual evidence! 8] To set it up for you, I made an advanced literate Greek Gods/Goddesses role-play. Huge role-play, lots of text to read on the front page. I was assuming this would discourage anyone who wasn't completely serious. But that was just putting too much faith in the notion of people actually reading the front page. <_< Some guy applies with a character that looks like he's right out of a kind of lousy video game on the subject- and this is meant to be a fairly realistic approach to the Greek legends. His character was some beastly warrior guy who didn't wear a shirt. Ever. I mean, it's sometimes understandable to not be wearing a shirt [IE- it's frigging hot outside] but all the time, no shirt? It was unsuitable. In reality, very few people go around constantly without a shirt on. [See: Randy, from TPB.] And those who do are generally kind of trashy, possibly overweight. [Again, Randy.] So, that was immediately a concern of mine. Also, he was a demigod, had the name of another Greek God for no apparent reason, and abused that all too common, anime/video-game inspired backstory that involves a weapon that drains his life if he doesn't satisfy it with blood. He was also on a quest to slaughter my character [Ares, god of war] for killing his mother, I think? Not that I put it beyond Ares to kill innocent women, but he might have consulted me. Anyway, all together, he didn't suit the role-play. His character's appearance was too much inspired by modern medias, and even his writing style seemed ill-suited to an advanced literate Greek Mythology role-play. I declined him. This is where it gets fun. Here is the actual PM conversation that transpired: Rabscuttle Thank you for your application and your interest! However, I don't think you're entirely what we're looking for. I hope you won't be too discouraged, its an advanced role-play and I'm being unfairly elitist about who gets accepted. Thanks again for applying, I appreciate it. I can admit that this was somewhat unwise. See, the "unfairly elitist" comment was a dose of my typical dry humor. What I was hoping is that he would laugh, or feel that he was being cut not because of any fault of his own, but because I was applying an impossibly high standard. Boy, that joke went well. Keep reading. Arrogant cry baby Um... You're being elitist and you don't want to allow me in? I only RP literate RPs, and I spent a lot of time creating this character. I am just wondering, what on earth would make you decide I'm unworthy to be in your RP. If you where being Elitist, I would be accepted, not rejected. Oh, and By the way, I'm not discouraged, I'm offended. I've never been rejected because I wasn't good enough to RP with someone. Who do you think you are? Rabscuttle Firstly, I was polite about my rejection, why you're offended and even bother to respond to this message in such a confrontational manner is baffling to me. Secondly, I have every right to reject anyone I want, based on any single reason in the world. Were you atrociously bad? No. But your character and the way you write [I did skim through your forum posts through your profile] doesn't suit the environment and the style of the role-play I've created. Its as simple as that, and I need no other grounds to turn anyone down from my role-play. Sorry you've taken this in such a bad way, but clearly if you're so horrified at being rejected, a little bit of a reality check can only help you. Arrogant cry baby Ya know, I'm not questioning your right to reject me, just the way you phrased it. You obviously don't know much about dealing with people. I simply don't like being brushed off as inferior, especially by someone who isn't all that great a writer herself. I don't claim to be the best writer ever(I'd have to give that one to Stephen King), but I am by no means a bad one either. And yeah, I'm being confrontational, wouldn't you be if you'd be concisely told that you're not good enough after you worked for two days on researching names and thinking up a descent character persona? Once again, I don't see where you get off trying to tell me that I'm not "Elite" enough for you when all the people you have on your RP are no better RPers then me, if they even have half the skill that I do. And as for my writing style, it changes with the character. I write in a way that reflects the nature of my character. For instance, I'm not going to go on about the landscape if I'm in a character that wouldn't be paying that much attention to it, but I would if the character I'm playing was, say, an artist or a bard who thinks that way. But why am I arguing with you? You're a Jerk, and I've got no more time to spend trying to decipher why you're such an a** to people. So, to cover all the bases. I jokingly said I was being an elitist, thanked him for his application multiple times and politely declined. He initiated an argument in which he insulted my writing, called me a girl [seriously, wtf.] claimed that Stephen King was the best writer in the world, declared that all of my role-players [an extremely literate and well-learned bunch] did not have even half of his skill, told me I was an a** hole, and that I obviously "don't know much about dealing with people." The lesson to be learned here? Don't be friendly, polite, and humorous with your rejections of profiles. Respond with a quick, blunt, "YOU ARE ******** REJECTED." P.S. no, no, don't, that would be bad.u_u The real lesson is just, don't be humorous with your rejections, ever. xDHandled nicely in my opinion. Arogant cry baby needs to get over himself.

Thanks. xD And I agree. I don't expect that he did.
In fact, he made a thread in the Life discussions forum to complain about being rejected, shading the story entirely in his favor and gaining the support of a lot of people who patted him on the back and assured him that he was such a great guy and that this awful role-play owner was a piece of crap. biggrin
So he came out with an ego boost. xD Great.
