I'll probably a Republic or Imperial officer of some sort. Whether it's a trooper commander or a ship commander, I haven't decided.

Des Voh Because Luke is less of a whiney b***h by that time? No, I honestly cant tell you why, it just sounds better than Post-TRJ, plus its deeper into the era than just after the Dark Ages. You're not making sense. And whats TRJ?

ElladanKenet Nelowulf what do you mean by that? You asked if merc squads were available. all i did was say yes, and one of the most commonly needed out there. @ elvis: If you work for me, you can smuggle my weapons with K. No, you said 'merc squads are so common it's not funny.' That implies that you don't want or need them Only in your mind. If you wanna be a merc company, be a merc company. Just don't expect any of us to consider it an origional idea, what with Churhee's Riflemen, the Laramus Base Irregulars, the 1st Sun Mobile Regiment, the Red Moons, the Mystryl Shadow guards, the Black Curs, Nova Force, and the entire Mandalorian culture operating all and around at this time. And those are just the more well known PMC's. And I can't believe no one has thought about being a sector ranger!

Return of the Jedi. Instead of just saying Pre-Academy, or Pre-Thrawn, I vote for anytime between 7 and 15 ABY. BTW, Cale, I did express a slight interest in perhaps playing a Sector Ranger, but its still all in thought process.

My idea wasn't so much being mercenaries, as more of an actual company that does security for various jobs.
Like, guarding convoys for various corporations, or protecting a convention center during a convention, etc. Municipal stuff that's not important enough to warrant the local police or a military presence.

We already said we're doing this in the New Republic.
@EK: You would still technically be a Merc company. Guarding convoys? Yeah thats merc work right there. You would just be a low level, civilian oriented merc company.

Cale Darksun that would be in the era I was thinking, where there would be at least some Jedi running about. It's a good year. The Empire is reeling from it's fialed invasio, and the chaos caused by it's superweapons The Rep is trying to push back and maintain the momentum And the Empire is fractioning. Everyone is either a warlord, or serving one, except Daala, who at this point is the only one still playing by the rules. Oh, and I believe Black Sun is trying to make a comeback, through Xizor's neice

Des Voh I'm not entirely familiar with that era. Its considered New Republic? The Dark EmpireThey were based off of Byss, and were the last core following of Emperor Palpatine, following his first death. He ends up getting clones and killed several times, but he managed to unite the Empire one final time. Following this, what's left of the Empire is in warlord-mode, attacking each other for more territory and ships.
