Thaliawen Thali moved from the front of the classroom, and walked over to the door. She opened it, and was surprised to see Josh. "You're supposed to be studying..." She started sternly. "You have a test later.." Joshua merely pointed at Vate. Thali stared for a moment, before going back to the front of the class. "Class demissed!" She announced. "Have a good evening, four sentences on what you think pirates were really like for homework! Due tomorrow!" Clearly, she was in a hurry. She never gave homework. Brandy ✖ Jean ❝At first she blinked, but then Alexis followed the rest of the class out of the room. She gazed up at the guest; his navy skin and gold eyes made her realize that she was definitely in a strange school.
Vate waited for the rest of the students to leave, and seemed to ignore Joshua. "Well," he finally told the elf. "I'm here." He handed the letter to Thali. "I got your letter." ❞

Thali smiled at Vate for a moment. "I was wondering when you'd show up. What class are you teaching?" She asked, curious. She gave her one-time love a bright smile, before looking at Joshua. "I see you've met met my son." She said, looking back to Vate. "Josh, meet Vate. He's your--um.. Godfather, I suppose?" She looked at Vate questioningly for a moment, before she noticed a teenager.
"Oh, yes." Thali said, smiling at the lost looking teacher. "I've heard about you. Your class is right down the hall from mine." She said brightly. "Oh, right.." She started, realizing she hadn't introduced herself. "I'm Thali. Thali Sadril." She provided. "If you ever need any help, or if the students give you any trouble, make sure you tell me."

Brandy ✖ Jean ❝While Thali was talking to the new teacher, Vate tried not to look surprised. Godfather? Of a child he just met, who had a father Vate didn't even know? Him and Thali haven't talked in years, and if Vate were to be a godfather, he knew there would be a lot of catching up he'd have to do.❞

Joshua looked up at Vate. "Godfather, huh?" He asked. "Cool. You know Jacen?" He asked, with a tilt of his head. "He tells stories about you. He's my uncle." He paused. "Why haven't you contacted us, anyway?" He asked with a frown. "Didn't you want to meet me?"

Jessica smiled as she walked out of the room, leaving the teacher to her work. Picking up the boxes that she left out in the hall, she wandered to her classroom. My classroom... she thought, somewhat wistfully. This is going to be a bit rough... Jessica turned a corner and found herself face to face with a door that had the word "DRAMA" on it. Inhaling deeply, she opened the door to see... "An empty room. Of course." Jessica scowled. Putting her boxes none too gently on the floor, she looked around. It was barren, having nothing but chairs, a whiteboard with some markers, and a desk for her. The chairs weren't even in rows! "They sure know how to make the newbies feel welcome around here," she thought coldly. She placed her precious Shakespeare book gingerly on the desk and opened up the boxes on the floor, hoping that class wouldn't start soon.

Brandy ✖ Jean ❝Vate flinched, so many questions from one little child! "That..." he said, trying to find the right words. But he gave up and threw in an excuse. "We will talk about later."
Suddenly, the bell echoed throughout the halls, and the students poured out of the classes and to their lockers, grabbing their lunches.❞

Joshua walked besides Vate, following his mother to the staff-longue. "Can we talk about it now?" The boy asked, looking up at the dark elf in admiration. "It's later." He pointed out.
Thali looked over her shoulder at Vate. "You're not planning on taking me back to Lynwood, are you?" She asked, teasing. She looked to Josh, as if just noticing that he was still there. "Go to lunch." She said, rolling her eyes. "Go! You have a test next period."

Kat shuffled out of the gym behind a crowd of her students. Her shoulder-length, indigo hair was pulled back into a ponytail. As she turned to look back towards Adrian and her brother, a familiar face caught her attention. Correction - a familiar skin tone caught her attention. She did a double-take, then deadpanned.
Her mouth could hardly form the name, but once it was done she was none too quiet. "....Vate?!"
Gavin emerged from the gym, a puzzled look on his face. His golden eyes searched the hallway for a moment. 'Vate'. He knew that name, but he couldn't remember how.

Brandy ✖ Jean ❝Vate gave Thali a sarcastic glare. "I'm here like you asked me to, and--" he replied, but his eyebrows raised when he heard his name, and he turned around, freezing at the sight of Kat. ". . . She's here?" he asked Thali under his breath.❞

Kat was still recovering from the shock of seeing the dark elf again. She couldn't even find it within herself to take a few steps closer, so she stayed where she was. "That's my line!" she squeaked indignantly, a look somewhere between a pout and a frown forming on her face.
Gavin glanced towards Adrian, unaware that he had just met Kat that very day. "Is he an ex I don't know about?" he whispered to the elf.

Brandy ✖ Jean ❝Quickly growing weary of seeing Kat's reactions, Vate turned to Thali and asked, "Perhaps we should speak somewhere else?" Not seeing Thali in years and finally having a chance to talk to her, then running into Kat seemed to be a. . . Distraction, in most polite terms to Vate. ❞

"Oh. By all means, pretend I don't exist!" Kat wasn't quite worked up yet, but she was feeling more than just a bit insulted. After all, Vate was the one who'd tried to help force Thali into marrying him when she clearly didn't want to. Vate was the one who put Thali in danger by dragging her through the forest to Lynwood with little protection. Clearly, he was the one to blame for the animosity between them.

Thali just gave Vate a flirticious wink, before looking to Kat and smiling. "Kat, Vate's our new teacher." She said. "Now, no fighting..." She paused, and looked to Vate again. "Okay, let's go talk. I know a better place. Out on the field?"
Adrian shrugged, and then frowned. "No. That's Vate--Thali's ex." He explained. "I don't think he and Kat ever got along--though Kat did save his life."

Jessica groaned as she finished unpacking her second box. The room looked a bit more friendly with the lamps and the props in her makeshift stage all set up. Knowing that she still had three boxes to go, Jessica decided to take a break and straighten the chairs out. She pondered the layout for a moment and decided to have rows that curved around like you would find in an amphitheater. Chucking to herself, she hurried to arrange the chairs in the preferred manner.
When that was all finished, Jessica sat down in her chair at the teacher's desk and stroked her book fondly. As she stared off into space, she pondered the logic on teaching at an all-grade school. Teaching 7th graders through 12th graders, no less. I'm only sixteen! Why on earth would 12th graders listen to me, even if I am a teacher? Exasperated, Jessica got out of her chair and headed into the halls to look for the teacher she met earlier; what was her name, Thali?; and ask for her advice. If anyone would know what to do, it would be her, Jessica thought.
