Eltanin Sadachbia Yeah, debate can be good, but it can be bad as well... Aneurysms are bad, but you can give yourself one by debating with the wrong people. We are really there to broaden our understanding, but we do run into others who cater to their own ignorance, and they refuse to acknowledge when they might be wrong or misinformed. Debate becomes a competition to them. Sometimes you need to step back and let them think they won, because really, that's why they are there; to win. Yeah Militant brings up an excellent point. Is it more loving to let someone make a mistake and bring suffering on themselves and others or is it more loving to intervene and interfere with their choices? I'm leaning that it depends on the circumstances but in general it's more loving to intervene. While this choice has the potential for negative consequences but I think it's sometimes better to act than to not act.

Also I'm not in the greatest condition right now, I just had two weight lifting sessions with a 9 mile run in between. My mind is screwed and my body tired. I had problems with bullies as a kid, and I can't stand anyone being in that position. I let myself get beat up so people I barely wouldn't be. Maybe I had some screws loose, maybe I could've done it a different way. I just can't stand to see other people get hurt in front of me, wither it be physically, verbally, or mentally. And even though it's online, it's still hurtful. So please don't.

Also I'm not in the greatest condition right now, I just had two weight lifting sessions with a 9 mile run in between. My mind is screwed and my body tired. I had problems with bullies as a kid, and I can't stand anyone being in that position. I let myself get beat up so people I barely wouldn't be. Maybe I had some screws loose, maybe I could've done it a different way. I just can't stand to see other people get hurt in front of me, wither it be physically, verbally, or mentally.
