Kahlan knew she had picked the right human jobs to pursue, as she lounged in her bar, observing her customers as she did every day. She had a few regulars, some she never saw twice. She drifted off into memories of the other night, besides being a business owner she was a musician for hire, playing gigs of all sorts, from classical to rock, where ever she could be hired. Her purpose more observation of course. Two nights ago she was the head violinist for an orchestra hired to play for a fancy ball, a mascaraed of sorts. There hadn't been much of interest there, she had seen those same "titled" humans gather before. There were just two beings that stood out, she hadn't seen them before, except perhaps at her bar. They certainly wouldn't make their presence available in such varying society. It was curious and she made a mental note to watch for them more should she come across them again. For the time being however she was back to her customers, preparing drinks and enjoying pointless conversation with the local drunks.

After the whole thing of waking up i pain, and the point of almost dying, it was time to go and relax. I had no money, but maybe I could get some water and talk to some people. I walk uinto a strange bar, and find the bar. I just lay my head down, and unfortunately, something wet met my head. Growling I wipe it off and then look skyward.

Kahlan peeked down at the man from above. "My appologies, did I drip on you?" She was hanging freshly washed mugs to dry. "Here" She grabbed a beer and passed it to him, "On the house, you look like you could use one." She smiled and went about her work waiting to see if he would talk.

I look at it. "Thanks. And you don't know. I don't want to lay my life story on you, but here it goes. I am no longer me." I say blandly. The truth. I was no longer me. I take a sip, and then sigh heavily.

She turned around ignoring the mugs left in the sink and took a good look at the man behind her. She relized with shock that this was the same man who was at the Ball the other night. There was something different though, he looked more worn, wait it was more then that she leaning in closer without thinking about what she was doing and stared at his face closer. Ah! His eyes! They are different and very pretty now I might add.. He pulled back in surprise, startling Kahlan. She shook her head, "I'm sorry..again, what were you saying." He repeated himself, and she looked at him again. "Sorry if this is..too upfront but were you at a Masquerade two nights ago?"

I sigh. "Yeah, I am the one who shot at another guy." Who didn't die for some reason. I add in my head. "I can't be blamed either. He looks like he could be my twin. Of course, he isn't even human." I chug the beer and then let my chin fall to the counter. "I wish I could do something. But He is... good. I have been keeping dibs on him, but he keeps, disappearing."

"This other guy, I think he's come here before, at least assuming that wasn't you on previous accounts I'm sure I would have remembered your eyes." She looked up for a moment. "So what are you going to do about this? You want me to help in anyway. I'm a little more then a bar owner or a musician." She was looking for more to do, half a century of observing humans was getting boring again.

"I doubt it. He is, a spy. And his company, big firm. He has, people working for him. No use getting yourself in harms way, or becoming a target..." I sigh again. "I just need help getting him into a corner. I have impersonated him enough times to get into his office, poke around. But this Vincent Wolfgang, he is some kind of maniacal genius."

"Wait did you say Vincent?" The name hit a spot in her memories, before her travels to new worlds and universes and before she returned to earth to continue her studies. He was the person who practically encouraged her to learn more about well everything. She had been a valiant fighter then but now she was more, she understood more. "I know him, but I didn't Know who he was until you mentioned it. When I met him he looked quite...quite different..." I might be more help to him then he thinks, but why would Vincent be impersonating someone else when he could easily just create an original persona. Maybe there is more about this man in front of me then meets the eye. "What did you say your name was again?"

I look at her quizzically. "I am Jacques Huntington. I was a mall cop before Vincent came and screwed that all up. Now, I have crimes I have commited that I don't even know about. What the hell is Contemptuous Thieving? I can't get hired any where!" I sigh again. "I just want him to fight me, hand to hand. I would show him how its done." I stand up, and take a bar stool, and then line it with jackets from the front entrance. I beat on it, throwing punches, kicks, anything I had in my arsenal. Brazilian, Russian, Chinese, even some African moves. I undo all the coats and hang them back up, and place the somewhat dented stool back. I sit and slump again. "But he always has this big sword. He almost killed me last time."

"So you need a weapon? That's easy. I warn you ahead of time I don't usually show my customers this. It's bad for business. You're different though, and I think something in this room may come in handy for you." She walked around the counter and led him to a secure door, hidden to look like part of the wall. "Oh and don't mention this to anyone, you seem to have one hard a** enemy on you're hands, don't make two." She pressed the wall in rapid concession making sure his human eyes wouldn't pick up the movement. She had to be cautious around this race. the wall opened and they walked inside, immediately the entrance closed behind them. On first appearances the room was just another addition to the bar, but she breathed something under her breath and the walls shimmered to reveal just about ever hand held human weapon he could choose from. He wouldn't know but her collection held more then just human artillery. It was all for educational purposes of course.

I breath wonderment, but then shake myself out of it. I look over them and then see a pair of knuckles. I go to them. They looked gold, but when in my hand, they were light, and durable. I hold both of them, one in each hand. They had spikes, small, but still big enough to do some serious damage in the right place. I swing them in the air I then look at her. "I will take these. And perhaps this." I grab a silenced pistol, bigger than the one I usually carried, but not too much bigger, and had a bigger slug, a .45 caliber. "Now, I thank your generosity." I swing my hands again, this time accidentally hitting the wall and putting a slight dent in it. These walls were tough...

She smiled moving her head in a slight nod, "it is my pleasure, I hope you can get your identity back." This should be interesting She thought planning to keep a better eye on his progress. She knew she couldn't get away with it in her human form, both men were too trained and she would stick out to much. She planed to turn into an owl after closing.

I look at her. "I will give these back when I get done." I set out with a determined face. Once in front of Wolfgang Security, I breath normally. Two Hundred or so floors of obstacles. This should be fun. I go in. I look at the security guards. They draw their weapons. Already knew I was coming. I pull my gun, and with a little aiming I blast them. I jump behind a desk as some more guards come, with slightly better weapons. Avoiding gun fire, my hands ready with the knucklers, I jump on one. Screaming, he tries to put the gun between us, but it being too big, he can't. I pound his stomach, and blood spurting forth, he goes unconscious. I jump off of him, and then too another. I kick his head, and his neck snaps. One dead, I would try not to have that happen. The building's alarm goes off, and I hold my position, stuck behind a desk. "Damn..." I grab pone of the guards weapons, and spring out, shooting my way to another guard's gun. I reload and then jump out again. I only had another twenty feet to that elevator, or the stairs. Stairs would be safer. I sigh. My life, so close to regaining it. All I had to do, was get there. I get to the stairs, after taking the path with least resistance, but still enough cover to avoid getting hit. Inside, I jam the door closed, and start my climb. One floor down...

She followed him by air, chuckling at his enthusiasm. Her laughter came out as a hoot. When she saw the building Vincent was running she was awed. She quickly recovered and changed to a mouse to get inside the building, one inside a wall she would change to a cat and follow Jacques progress, already he had passed the first floor his only problem having set of the alarm. Though it appeared they expected him. How could they not, She thought, humans always act on instinct and not intelligence, He may be brilliant and never use his brain, of course Vincent was expecting him to react this way. I hope Jacques has more up his sleeve then vengeance. Every few yards she would find a vent or other means to watch his progress, for a human he was moving rapidly, she noticed his care in not killing all in his path. Even so, she wasn't sure he could take on Vincent.
