Darius eyebrows raised. A slave? just like Lily...that was a very intresting thing to pop up. This also gave Darius a load of questions on which he wished to ask but he would wait, Derek didn't look like he wanted to talk about it.
"Yeah it is a good place to relax...depending on who's here though you might not get a chance."

Lily's eyes got wide as she looked at the mark again.
"A....A....A slave mark?" She was barely able to get it out and she knew he mouth was hanging wide open but she didn't really care, she just found this amazing. Now she had to think, where had she seen this mark before?
"Umm.....I'm really not trying to be extremly nosey, but were you by any chance a.....a fighter?"

Derek looked over at Lily. How did she know that? Then the dots connected in his mind.
"Yes.....I was. And you know this because......because you were a......or who controlled them....??" He was having trouble getting words out now, but he knew that she knew that he ment 'Were you are slave or a mistress?' If she was a mistress, indeed he'd be in trouble, but if she was a slave....like he was, then he might have an 'in' with these kids.

Lily nodded. Still looking at him with wide eyes.
"Yea actually- I was just like you." Lily looked at Darius. What did he think about this whole thing? What would he say about this whole thing? After all she had never told him that she was a street-fighter slave. She had chosen to let him think she was in indoor cooking/cleaning slave.

Darius blinked. So they were both slaves. This was intresting, but there was a question in his mind.
"What is a fighter slave?," he asked the two of them, "What do they do?"

Derek looked at Lily. She hadn't told him? Wow that's a shock. He'd figured Darius knew Lily inside and out. Still he could tell that Lily had seemed to have told him part of the story.
He looked at Darius, knowing it'd be easier for Lily if he told Darius.
"A Fighter is one who is used for...well gambling purposes mostly. Masters bring all their 'best slaves' to fighting areana's. the preliminary rounds are just like regular fighting- you fight till your oponent can't get up anymore. Then they move on to Death Matches, the kind where you win......or you don't live to tell the tale." Derek looked back to Lily still confused.
"I've been taken all over these parts and the only decent girl fighter had purple hair, how far away did you live?" So many questions were running through Derek's mind but he was trying to keep his cool. this was so weird.

Lily was relived when Derek explained, of course she'd expected 'Their slaves that are forced to fight other slaves' but he went ahead and explained everything. She hadn't wanted Darius knowing about the Death Rounds.
Lily looked in suprise at Derek- he'd seen her fight before. That was intersting. But then again, being one of the very few female fighters, and the only one to survive the Death Round 6 times, it shouldn't have suprised her.

Darius looked back and forth at the two of them, his eyes wide...he knew she was a slave but not a fighter slave...
"That's monsterous....what they make you do..." Darius was finding trouble at finding words, "I thought you wer one of those cooking slaves Lily..."

Lily looked down. How was she going to say this?
"Because I didn't want you to know I've looked death straight in the eye and lived to tell about it- I didn't want you to know that I had to hurt people all the time. I didn't want you to have to learn that I've seen things that no one in the world should ever see- and then I had to realize that in 2 weeks I'd see it again......mostly I just dind't want anyone to know what I'd done....." Lily wiped a tear from her eye. then looked again at Derek.
"Did you ever fight me...??" She needed to know if she'd ever hurt this boy. For if she had she'd have to make it up to him.

"You? You were......"
Derek looked from side to side. Yes, he remembered the the purple-haired girl, who's name he knew now was Lily.
"Yes." He said. He could see the memory, and he felt he had to tell Lily about it.
"It was my first time in the arena, and you were my first opponent. You were agrogant and self-assured. You knew you were going to win. No matter what that master had said to you. I think it was your first time too because your very own master told you that he'd brought you here to die. You beat me in 2 minutes flat." A small burning sensation played in the put of Derek's stomache, but he held it down. I will fight you again Lily, but I am experinced now, and you seem to be out of touch......and soon enough, out of time......

Darius felt sad for the girl that he loved. She had endured so much pain, suffering, anguish, the list was endless. All because of her masters.
Darius looked at the two of them, "I would certainly like to meet these guys...so I could stop them...the human mind is not a plaything..."

Lily moved closer to Darius and she lay ehr head on his shoulder.
"Derek. I am sorry. Really I was so different then, I can only hope that you'll forgive me for my ugly past." She wondered if Darius would wonder about the way Derek explained how she was- arrogant, self assured. and she was, when she was a slave she was that way only because she knew that she had to be or she'd fall apart in a match and lose.....her life.

Derek looked at Darius first.
"I am not going back there....they'd take all three of us as captives. No way man, just let it be......." He shook his head as if trying to earse the memories.
"Just let it be." He then turned to Lily, After what she'd done she asks for forgivness. He nodded knowing he dind't mean it, but trust was the factor here.
"I forgive you Lily, we were all so different back then."

Darius felt a sudden surge of wishing to help the two of them as much as he could. They lived there life in fear...unable to show emotion...letting it be considered as a weakness...

Lily shook her head.
"We can't go back there Darius.....even if we did go back, we might have to fight to get them out of there. Gambling is their game those masters......the only way to them out would to be............." Lily got it.
"The only way to get them out, would be to gamble with our freedom." She wasn't sure what Darius thought about the whole idea, plus how much fighint skills did he have? She wasn't as good as she used to be, and she wasn't sure if she could look her past in the face like that. But if Darius was sure about this, she'd stand by him.
