Notos's eyes made a sideways glance, realizing that during the commotion, he had meet up with the rest of his roommates. Somehow, but it was a pretty good feat, considering the number of candidates on the hatching grounds.
"Good to see you." Notos drawled out, in a low voice to the rest of his roommates. He was refraining from being too loud, having no desire to divert attention to himself for no good reason. But speaking of diverting attention.. Notos lifted his gaze to the person who was standing out. There seemed to be complaints from the crowd, Notos ignoring it. Complaints from bystanders were a tad less interesting, than the person who was actually doing something. He wasn't familiar with the person, but he was beginning to see that was a mistake.
He had to admit, it was untraditional, and extremely a dimglow move, but perhaps, there was a good reason to do so. Notos moved his gaze, waiting to see what the other boy was going to do. His gaze fell upon the bronze. If Okassis's actions resulted in his impressing, good for him! But aside from that, he had nothing to lose. Except some time, having his ear singed off with a lecture.
"Interesting, interesting." Notos leaned back, sending a questioning smile to his roommates. What did they think?

Mathyn realized that the blond young man and bronze were not bonded and glanced at the other guy beside in. In Candidate class they were all taught not to force an impression, that it wasn't possible. Were they acting like fools or just improving their chances? Personally Mathyn admired the other young men for stepping forward, little competitions were fine..but this was a life changing one.
Mathyn stepped forward to get a better view of the candidates faces. If one of them impresses this way, then I'll try it, but I'm not risking my neck on slim chances.

Nelioa had been watching the eggs with baited breath. Her excitment seemed even wilder than it had been for the first hatching. It was only when her lungs began to burn that she rememberd she had to breath. She scolded herself inwardly for being so foolish and that she must not lose her head.
She had spotted Sonya across the sands and waved to the girl. It was nice to see her here and she hoped that one of them might impress. Yet there where so many eager looking faces. That made her smile though, because somewhere out here was a perfect match for each of the little dragons. She thought to herself. 'come on little ones, we all want to see you on your big day.'

The blue was off the sands, and the bronze who had hatched first had still not chosen His. Instead, he seemed to be taking his time, as if being sure to pick the perfect boy to be his rider, and seemed not at all perturbed by the fact that the blue had Impressed before him. This was always a good sign -- obviously his rider was out there on the sands today. If he was not distressed, he would not jump between, and an accident free Hatching was always welcome. This set V'len's mind to rest a bit, his racing heart settling a bit in his chest as his eyes followed the blue off the sands before flickering to the other eggs. For the moment, the Euro Adder seemed safe.
Talis, however, knew nothing about the dangers of a Hatching, either for the Candidate or the Rider. She was blissfully unaware of the fact that she should have been holding her breath for the young dragonet, praying that he did not go between. Instead, she was watching the eggs with an unbridled excitement, going up on her toes to look over a particularly large girl and accidentally tripping forward a little, grabbing Mo's shoulders for support. Flushing a little, she grinned sheepishly, backing up a little so she did not intrude in her personal space.
"Sorry... that was dumb of me."
The last few of her words trailed off as she noticed a little excitement in the stands, her blue eyes flickering back towards the eggs. The bandybandy egg had taken this opportunity to wiggle a bit, the dragonet inside obviously trying to worm its way out from beneath the striped shell. Within a few minutes a green tumbled onto the sands, the momentum of her hatching sending her face first into the sand, her eyes whirling in confusion as she blinked at the candidates not a few feet before her. Creening curiously, she lifted her tail a little, the action making her look remarkably like a questionmark.

As a green spilled onto the hot sands, Rinfala's eyes fixed on it hungrily. The bronze was forgotten for now--she had no chance at that--and so was the queen egg, for it didn't look about to crack shell just yet. Besides, golds went to...better people, responsible people, people good at giving orders. Leaders. In Rinfala's opinion, that just wasn't her. Maybe it could be, but she preferred to enjoy her life and take care of herself and hers, not worry about everyone and their bloody grandmother. So, rather than ignoring everything but the queen like some of these silly starry-eyed girls, she kept her options open. Yeah, that was it. Keeping her options open.

The Bronze still hadn’t chosen anyone. Apparently, he just wanted to torture them all or something. Evil, evil creature. No doubt, it would end up Impressing the mini version of Z’nal. Mal eyed the Bronze warily, suddenly wondering if maybe he really would Impress someone like Z’nal. Best to keep his distance from that little beastie too, then.
Although, really, what would be worse? Another Z’nal wandering about, or the Bronze going between because His wasn’t on the Sands? The thought gave Mal pause. It really was a conundrum. Mal couldn’t spell the word, but he certainly could spot it.
Thankfully, a perfect distraction hatched. Awwr… now that was just adorable. The little Green’s first action in this world was to promptly fall on her face. At least she didn’t seem hurt or annoyed by it. In fact, she simply looked curious. Awwwr… now how cute was that? Maybe it was too cute. It could be a trap.

Kiriwar looked up at Notos with a crooked smile, shrugging. "It's definitely an interesting turn of events," he murmured, nodding towards the Sands, before pausing at his own words. Another egg was hatching. He leaned forward slightly, blinking slowly and watching with fascination. As the little Green tumbled out, he chuckled, his smile growing at the sight of her questioning appearance. "Darling..."

Oh. the funny egg had turned out to be a little green.. Amusing to say the least. Notos broke out into a grin at its antics, taking care to allow himself only a chuckle. "That wasn't surprising though." Notos commented with a grin. His eyes were flicking back and forth between the bronze who had not picked his candidate yet.. and the little green. Her personality had shown when she was an egg, and she didn't disappoint now.
"I wonder who'll be bonded with that little darling?" he directed to kiriwar, taking his affectionate term to name the unknown green. A hand covered his mouth, looking away to keep his composure.
He wasn't worried about the bronze or the green. It didn't look as if they were distressed, and being excited only resulted in impatience. In short, Notos wasn't joining the league of boys that were excited for the bronze. He did entertain hopes though, typical of any candidate.

Jessmet joined in the scattered applause for the boy who'd Impressed the blue-- what a beautiful color! Had the bronze still not found his mate? He didn't look distressed, just curious.
The newly-hatched green caught her eye; she had lovely distinctive stripes. And the poor dear had landed right on her face. Jessmet craned her neck to see if anyone would step forward to help her up.

"I don't think I could ever be that patient," he spoke to the young men near him, "do you think he knows who his bonded is and he's just taking his time?" Mathyn smiled toward Notos and Kiriwar, their faces were familiar, but there were many candidates in the over crowded Weyr.
Mathyn found himself thrilled by the clumsier hatchlings, how ever do they grow up to become the giant graceful wonders? He wondered if his own bonded, if it ever graced the sands would come out clumsy or patient or angry and moody like others.

S'kagi made a soft 'tsk' sound under his breath, folding his arms and picking at his tunic nervously. The bronze wasn't distressed so far, but the amount of time it was taking was making him nervous. The hatching of the clumsy, quaint little green had distracted a few, but he hoped it found it's match soon. It would be an real shame if the handsome bronze suddenly decided, or was startled into, going 'Between', and if there was another outburst as they'd seen earlier, it just might. Z'nal for his part let out a soft, almost inaudible growl, hands clenching into tense fists. Now was a time that would really test to see how the Candidates reacted. The new hatching was adorable, but it was also still dangerous, and could be easily confused. It was a baby animal at the moment, and you didn't go pick up an new born anything without risking getting hurt by a confused animal. If one of them caused either hatching to go between... Shards, he'd tan their hides personally.

Nelioa had been watching the bronze for awhile, fearing for it when it had not yet impressed. It dawned on her after a moment that it wasnt panicing, only leasurly taking its time and fully serveying everyone. She smiled a little bit, he was doing just fine. Inwardly her mind began to wander as it often did, she wondered what it was like from the dragons point of view.
Just hatching, the world seeming so bright from being trapped in the egg for so long. All those staring faces, yes she would probably take her sweet time too, then again taking her sweet time was something she had worked hard to master anyway.
In her daydream Nelioa almost missed the little green plopping down on the sands. Her tail curving in such a manner made nelioa Giggle. She watched the green with intrest, would this little one be as slow going as the bronze? If all the dragonets shared that trait they would be waiting on the sands for a seven day!

Nimwae's attention was drawn from the choosy bronze as the sound of yet another egg's cracking. Watching as a little green rolled forward, the girl smiled at the sight of her. Such a clumsy thing, almost like the blue before her that had Impressed the unknown boy. Aw, and she had landed on her face! The urge to step forward and help the little green up rose in Nimwae, and she scooted forward the merest of inches before halting, still well within the group of Candidates. The anxiety caused her to play fretfully with her robes, her fingers clutching tightly at the white fabric. Oh, what to do, what to do? She wanted the little green to see her, but not if she was in the way of the Her's!

He'd been entranced with the hatching thusfar- there was just something about the sight of young dragonets bonding to their riders that made his heart skip. And maybe, this time, his dragon would be out there- a soft laugh bubbled in his chest at the thought, and Anont turned his focus back to the sands. The next hatched- an adorable, confused little green. He couldn't help but laugh slightly and allow a grin to take his features, overall pleased by the timid little dragon. She'd find happiness with her rider; hopefully, the rider would love her just as much.
Everything had been going well thus far, after all- the blue that had Impressed seemed pleased with his rider, and the rider with dragon. It hadn't been himself, or anyone he knew, but Anont could still be happy for the pair.
Oh, right. His friends! Taking a moment to take his gaze off the green, Anont turned to scan the crowd for a familiar face- anyone he recognized. At the sight of Kiriwar, he couldn't help but raise a hand, giving a quiet wave to the other. The best of luck to the both of them, then! Certainly, Kiriwar would Impress- his friend was too kind not to find his dragon on the sands.
...Which he ought to focus on, if he was being honest with himself. Turning back to the green once more, he watched with bright eyes, curious to know what would become of the little one.

"Could be." Notos answered simply, with no hesitation. Notos tilted his head back to look at the stranger that had spoken.
"Just ask his rider later. I'm sure that we'll all enjoy the dragon's tale." He extended a smile, and a hand to Mathyn. Glancing back once more, and determining that he had time for an introduction, Notos was glad to give one. "My name is Notos. Yours?"
The face wasn't familiar, but it would soon be. Notos liked seeing familiar faces at hatchings. It made it more exciting~
