She listened again to him and when the silent fell she was not too bothered by it. But she hurried to finish her tea then she stood. "Well thank you very kindly sir. But I would not hinder your journey by making you return to your home." she said and then she gave a bow. "I do hope you sleep well sir. And I will see you in the morning." She took her glass with her and moved towards the stairs.

"Miss Jerikoda, I must ask you one thing before you sleep, if you wouldn't mind entertaining my inquiries for just a moment longer." Kartik set down his cup before turning those duel colored eyes upon her. "Miss Jerikoda, why do you feel that I would ever offer something I cannot do?"

Jerikoda turned to look at him from just before the stairs. "Oh I know you can do it sir. I have full belief in your ability. But I would not ask it of you. I would not wish for you to feel uncomfortable even if it were to give me a glimpse of another life. But i do thank you for your willingness sir. I will be more careful in my movements around the tower as well so that neither of us will happen on the other naked again. Out of respect for your beliefs." She bowed her head, "Is there anything else I can do for you tonight?"

"How is it that you ask anything of me, Miss Jerikoda when I am the one who offers it to you? I do not understand." He was sincerely trying to get why she questioned him. It was different and he didn't mind it now and then. But she questioned a LOT of his decisions and it was getting to him. Since she did it so often he found himself needing to know. However, he just bowed his head the remark about being careful of their forms in gratitude.

The bovine female thought a bit before she answered. "As much as this place might dislike me I am a healer. I do not like giving people pain or discomfort. I know that you are the one that has made me the offer. But I can see how much displeasure it would give you returning home. You seem nervous about it and I do not wish to cause you any stress. Your the first person to show me kindness and that is more than I could ask for." She turned her red eyes to look into those pretty duel colored ones of his. She hoped that would help answer him a bit more clearly.

Kartik's hand raised and ran through his reddish locks of hair, fingers parting his natural style and he closed his eyes. "I am sorry I have made you feel as though my land is something terrible or uncomfortable to me." Hand returning to his lap, his eyes closed as if he was mediating for a moment. He then looked at her and smiled gently. "Miss Jerikoda, I would greatly appreciate it if you would please ask my feelings towards such things instead of guessing. I feel that guesses about others around us can lead to many misunderstandings. This is why I question you so often. So that I may not misunderstand what it is that I perceive." His tone was gentle but firm.

Jerikoda gave a nod. "As you wish Kartik sir. I shall ask how you feel from now on. And not try to read you. I am sorry if I offended you." She looked away from him for a moment then back to him. "Though you may perceive what you will of me. I am used to so many people simply judging me that it is does not bother me." Her face stayed as emotionless as ever. It was clearn that years of having to deal with people judging her had sealed most of her true self away.

Kartik gave her a big warm smile, "I promise you that I will never judge you Miss Jerikoda. I believe in treating others as I wish to be treated myself. That is why you can expect many questions from me about you." He bowed his head. "Have a good rest, Miss Jerikoda." He lifted up his cup to his mouth finishing the liquid within it. He wanted her to know that she would be able to trust him but he understood this would take time. He was patient enough.

The bovine female gave a bow of her head, "May you sleep well Kartik sir." With that she headed up to her room to sleep. The storm continuing to sound all night.
~~~
It would not be until a few hours after sun rise when there was a knock on the front door of the tower. The storm had stopped but dark clouds still threaten to pour rain down on any person outside.
The knock sounded again before the door was slowly opened and a woman's head popped inside. "Miss Jerikoda." the voice spoke softly almost fearfully. "Miss Jerikoda are you in here?" She asked again though this time a bit louder. her eyes not yet falling on Kartik.
As she had gone up for the evening, Kartik lifted his flute and played a gentle lullaby like melody that faded into the night.
~~
By the next morning, Kartik was fast asleep in the makeshift bed that had been provided. The knock made his ear flick. The second knock and voice had made the kitsune male turn his back to the fire. So, when the girl came in she saw his form, covered by a blanket provided, with long fox tails fanning out from the blanket.
The woman looked at him and gasped softly looking over him. She was going to go over and talk to him but she saw the familiar form of the bovine female walking down the stairs. "Oh miss Jerikoda. I am sorry to bother you. But I need...well you know my husband and I are trying to have a child and well I was wondering it."
Jerikoda nods, "I can make you a draft to help you out." she was fully dressed in her normal long loose fitting robes. "I take it that you are here without his knowledge. I will make a strong one for you. Please sit over here...my guest is still sleeping." She said in a low soft voice then she made her way to her herbs. Her arm as no longer bond and she started to gather the herbs. "Would you like some tea wail you wait?"
The woman shook her head her eyes continually moving back towards the sleep kitsune. "No miss Jerikoda. I am fine. Just the draft and I will leave you and your guest."
All this talking... it was too early yet. Ears flicking he growled as he awoke to the sounds of the women talking. He was not going to finish his rest this morning at this rate. Being he was still half asleep he couldn't make out what was being said but the fact that there was speech annoyed him. His hand reached under his covers to his sword and gripped it up by the hilt. Kartik rubbed his eyes with his free hands before he rose, sword in hand and looking rather grumpy. Those kind soft features were gone to a stone frown of discontentment. Duel eyes looked between Jerikoda and the woman he did not know. In a flat tone he spoke cautiously, "Good morning Miss Jerikoda. Is this woman an intruder in your home?" He spoke to Jerikoda but those eyes were fixed upon the girl. That hand holding the sword was a fast grip.
The woman jumped and looked panic stricken. She wanted to look at Jerikoda but she could not take her eyes off of the angry Kitsune and his blade. She had seen this man in the market before and was going to accuse the bovine of possessing and brain washing the formerly nice man.
Jerikoda turned a bit shocked to see Kartik in such a manner. Though the only signs of there was a small glint in her eyes. "Good morning sir. No she is a customer. I am sorry if we disturbed you. If you wish to continue your sleep in peace you may do so in my room if you like. I believe you know where it is sir." She gave a soft bow of her head as she moved from her herb mixing to stand a bit more between the two of them.
Kartik's grip on his sword loosened and his expression went back to his sweet nature as he smiled warmly to the girl. "Good morning to you Miss." He bowed to her. He turned to Jerikoda and bowed to her. "Good morning as well Miss Jerikoda." He glanced back to the girl. "I ask you forgive me if I seemed unpleasant. I do not enjoy mornings. Please excuse me." He turned back to his bed, grabbed his flute, and moved passed the two women to the door and went outside.
A sigh escaped him. SO TIRED. He was ready to kill BOTH of them but was great at showing restraint. A yawn crept over his lips. SO SLEEPY! Curse females for their talkative natures in early hours! Ah well, no use in complaining. He moved over to a side of the entrance and sat down for early morning mediation. Then he would go into his sword exercises.
Watching Kartik before he left, things starting to become clear. The kitsune might not have planned on coming to the suicide lakes but he was one that would fit in the lake area just fine. She watched as he left then went back to mixing the fertility potion for the woman sitting at her table.
The woman watched him walk away. She knew that it had to be the fact that he was staying with a witch that caused his sudden changing. "Miss Jerikoda, I know that inn has some rooms open. I know you like your privacy. I can get him a room there easily."
Jerikoda shook her head, "It is his choice. I am sure we will return to town today and he can get a room if he wishes." She bottled the mixture, "Take a drink of tis every two hours for the next 24 hours. It will help you conceive on the third day." She gave the vail to the woman. The woman bowed her head in thanks and gave a few coins to Jerikoda who hurried away from the tower. Jerikoda followed her to the door and looked over at Kartik as he started to stand and ready himself for his sword practice and work. She would just watch him as he worked without a word.
