Aubrey laughed. "All you'd have to say is you found something good at the market." He cocked his head as he thought about her question. "I wouldn't say a lot. There are a bunch of other stalls who sell food. Competition is hard when you're not well known, but I make enough to get buy."

"Do people bargain constantly with you?" she giggled, "That's what my Nana would do when I was young. She always thought everything at the market was overpriced." Irissë looked around, "I'll take a tomato then. They look very plump and juicy." she bent over again to pick a small tomato, and held it in her hands carefully.

Aubrey nodded. "Most try to buy at the bare minimum. I say, if someone offers at minimal price, you usually get minimal quality." He nodded with pleasure as she took the tomato. "Should you take two? Have one for your mother as well."

"I'm sure my father would be more appreciative." she looked around, putting her fingers around the biggest and most plump tomato she could find. Tugging at it lightly, she smiled, "Thank you for letting me take some home Aubrey. It was very kind of you."

Aubrey shrugged, though smiling happily as he finished off his fruit and tossed the remains to the ground. "It's nothing. I usually have a lot of produce in the end. Planty to spare for a friend." He kicked a little dirt to cover the tomato. "So your father would like it better? What's he like?"

"Well..." Irissë started, "He's the total opposite of my mother. She's extremely chatty and easily miffed whereas my father is quiet and thoughtful I guess you would say." she rubbed the tomato gently with her thumb, "He loves to read and he's well-educated. He loves to debate about history and such." she couldn't help but smile, "He's the only person at home that doesn't scold at me like a child."

"He sounds pleasant." Aubrey smiled. "Interesting combination. Do they balance each other out then?" He looked at his garden and smirked. "It seems that when two taurs are opposites there are only two results. They either balance out or clash."

"Er...I'm not too sure really. I know they're not in love." she tapped a finger to her chin, "It's weird. You know they're not attracted to each other...but at the same time..." Irissë gestured awkwardly with her hand. "It's hard to explain."
"What about you Aubrey? What are your parents like?"

"They must cancel each other out then." He said, attempting to sound playful. However, the concept of two taurs staying together without love boggled his mind. "My parents? Well, they believed in natural roles. Mom was the housekeeper and my father worked outside. They were strange though since they didn't push those conformities on me or my sisters. I cooked often, and they would hunt a lot."

"They must." she said nodding. Her family probably sounded pretty strange to him. "Nothing's wrong with that." Irissë looked at him thoughtfully, "That sounds pretty cool though. What's hunting like anyways? Like is it fun?"

"Will wonders never cease?" He asked with a chuckle. "Hunting is something that takes time and patience, and depends on what it is you're hunting. My eldest sister liked it better than me and our other sister. Dad liked it. Mom hated it. Fun is in the eye of the beholder."

Irissë sighed, "My mother says its a barbaric hobby. Although I don't really think so. I mean...that's how we get our meat right?" she smiled. "I would like to watch someone hunt sometime. Maybe you could show me sometime?" "Where are they now?" the cervi said suddenly, "Your sisters and parents?"

Aubrey nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, and it's better than trapping for the meat. That can get bad." He cocked his head. "I suppose I could show you sometime, if you think you're up to it. I don't mean any offense, but it can get bloody." Her last question made him blanch slightly, looking off deep into the shallow garden. "They're still back where I grew up, I suppose." He looked down, almost bashfully, at his hooves. "It has been a while since I've seen them."

"Er...I'll look away when you kill the animal?" she laughed nervously. Irissë blinked, "Shouldn't you go visit them? Aren't you wondering how they're doing? And I'm sure they're worried about you..."

Aubrey shook his head. "I have too much going on here to leave for so long. Besides, my mom always seemed to know everything. I'm sure she has found out somehow how I'm doing." He said with a chuckle.
