When Zuri realized he had to turn around to see her, he shortly realized that he had gone out much farther in the water than he had wanted to. Whoops. The naiad moved back towards Waikiki Kiki, even if this didn't seem so bad at the moment. He didn't notice that when his leg was revealed from the water, the skin looked a little redder than usual.

"I'll make sure Okeanos doesn't make them any bigger on you." The teenager winked, before sitting down next to Kiki. "I wonder where my family went, anyway? I didn't see them when I woke up. I hope they're alright." It was odd that they seemed to be missing from his house and that he hadn't run into any of them in the path from the beach to the other beach, and Zuri couldn't help being concerned.

The naiad vaguely itched his now reddened leg--though it was hard to tell it was redder thanks to his already red skin.

-----------

Criofan peaked open a eye, face down in the sands below him. Hrm? He ran a hand through his hair and looked up to find his little naiad brother playing in the waves... again. That little boy practiced his abilities almost too much. The leprechaun yawned, before setting his head back down in the sands. Nothing to worry about here...

Okeanos giggled, before focusing his hand on a wave that was already particularly big. Then, he threw his hand foward, resulting in Criofan getting splashed with a tad bit of water on the head. The child snickered mischievously.

The leprechaun groaned, sitting up to shake the water out of his hair. Maybe he should stop dozing off.

Waikiki KiKi giggled. "Well, if he does I can always turn it into something pretty before it hits me." She giggled again as she watched the waves tumble in the surf. It was wonderful to watch. She turned them into more animals. Different sea animals she had seen pictures of. If she was a Naiad she would go and find them now, but she wasn't.

"Smell?" Now that Aysu drew her attention that way she did smell the salt. That was strange she didn't remember that smell the last time she came to the HQ, although it had been a while.

Noel followed and read the note. "Wow, that is so strange." They were in the ocean now? That was weird. She did feel the warmth, a tropical paradise? Noel smiled back at Aysu, "Do you want to check out the water?"

Why were his feet so itchy? It must've been the air. Zuri sat with one leg crossed over the other so he could easily itch his left foot, looking a little frustrated that he couldn't get the itch to stop. Of course, itching it as much as he was would only make the itchiness worse. It took him a few seconds before he realized that Waikiki Kiki was talking to him again, and he blushed at realizing he had been ignoring her so he could itch his foot.

"Er, sorry." The naiad chuckled nervously, straightening his legs out and yawning lightly. "You are getting really good at shaping waves, Kiki! I wish I had a useful ability," mused Zuri, sighing lightly. "I can't smell and my skin is itchy. That's not fun a'tall."

-----------

Aysu nodded in response. A tropical paradise could definitely be fun! "Let's go check it out!" She took Noel's hand again and headed out of the crowd, in the direction of the edge of the isle as she had known it. Her walking was fast at first, but then it slowed as a thought dawned on her. Wouldn't that make the isle a lot warmer?

"Will it still be cool enough for you?" asked Aysu, suddenly concerned again. She didn't want her Noel becoming too warm because their temperatures were more tropical than before.

Alaera followed as the Elder led her back out of HQer's and outside to the door. She caught sight of the note that she hadn't noticed before and scanned through it quickly. 'Could have given us some warning' she muttered under her breath before turning back to the elder.

"Well, thank you for the information........" Alaera stopped suddenly realizing she hadn't caught the others name. "But it doesn't really solve my problem. See there's a huge ravine cutting through Loki'Nei forest with me trapped on one side and my family on the others. Sally, Rosie, Reese, everyone! And they have no idea what's going on I bet they are worried sick! I just don't see how we are to get around it. Do you have any ideas?"

~~~~~~
When Sally finally yawned herself awake, she knew instantly something was wrong. She was nice and toasty warm, the sunlight beaming down on her directly and blinding her as she opened her eyes to look around. A piercing cry soon erupted from her lips though as soon as her eyes adjusted and at first she wasn't sure if she could even trust them. It was just so unbelievable. Her...her pumpkin house.....was split wide open!!! Eyes wide in disbelief she rose from bed inspecting the damage. A large crack ran down one side so large that half of the house and almost fallen away, which was what was letting all the sunlight in.
"What in the name of the guardians..." Sally started to exclaim but the sentence was never finished. For through the huge crack she'd suddenly gotten a glimpse of her garden outside. The angel raced outside through the door, hanging half on or half off its hinges (she didn't stop to contemplate which) and sunk to her knees, sobbing.
"My garden...my wonderful garden. "Everything had been destroyed. Plants were ripped from the ground, pumpkins smashed open. All of her hard work lay in ruin. Her eyes watering and blurry, she couldn't bear to look away more and rose stumbling to her feet. She had to get away.
Unconsciously, Sally called upon her power and was instantly transported to one of the pumpkin patches that she'd planted in what seemed a time long since gone. Miraculously, this batch had survived. In her shocked state Sally didn't care where she was just relieved that she was away from the destruction and she stumbled forward blindly, water still streaming from her eyes. In some faraway place in her mind, she recognized the feel of sand beneath her feet.
After walking mindlessly for some time on the soft sand, her feet occasionally getting wet as she'd gotten a little to close to the water, Sally began to think she was seeing things. Colorful, but blurry spots of color came into her view and as she got closer, a red one in particular, began to look rather familiar. Detached from reality, Sally began to laugh. Imagine that! Spots looking familiar!
{{That red blob is Hula Bob btw }}
Waikiki KiKi nodded. "Well, maybe you just haven't learned all that it can do yet." She wasn't really sure. Her power had been laid out to her by the Guardians. She didn't really have to learn what it was only how to grow it.
Hula Bob and family had the bar almost clear of water, only since the bar slightly feel into the lake it kept filling with water. Hula Bob wasn't sure what to do. Being so concerned with this he hadn't noticed someone watching him.
"What if I use my power?" Zoe had the power of mist but also the power of moving fresh water, to a point. She began to keep the water out of the bar.
"Sounds good for now, but we will have to think of something more permanent. Can't have you doing that forever." Jet, Zoe's father, told her.
Zuri decided to bite his lip and force himself to leave his foot alone. It would only stop itching if he stopped paying attention to it, like he was right now. He glanced wearily at the painful itch before turning back to Waikiki Kiki. "Maybe." It certainly would have been nice if he was just given a note to spell his abilities out like Texas Pete had been given. The naiad really had no clue what merging with a spirit dolphin had really done for him besides make him miserable. And he thought dolphins were cool!
"I hope it's something good when I finally get it." Zuri hadn't realized the changes himself, actually. His sight was sharper and his hearing was gradually getting better and better. Unfortunately, the changes were so gradual that he wasn't actually noticing any of it except the negatives. "I mean, your power is super cool! You can make wave art; that's definitely not something anyone can do."
-----------
The leprechaun glanced from left to right to look for anyone else around. There were a bunch of people gathered around a building that looked a little too close to the lake over there, and over there were a few scattered people, including something that looked like his naiad sister and her girlfriend running off. Hm. Looked like a typical day really, except the shoreline of the lake must've gotten a little too close.
For once, Criofan was the one not getting it.
Okeanos, on the other hand, was a relative newborn and really didn't care much in any case. He threw another wave in Criofan's direction, before laughing hysterically and ducking into the water so the leprechaun couldn't enact some kind of revenge. Okeanos peaked out of the water to see Criofan trying to dry himself off which caused a wave of giggles in the young, ignorant thing.
Waikiki KiKi nodded and smiled to Zuri. "Thanks. It is fun and something entertaining. It really works with my family. However, it's not a good protective power." She couldn't' stop waves, make waves or anything. She could only make them pretty. Which didn't seem like a big deal since her family wasn't much to go to battle anyway.
Kaelia saw two others on the beach. She hadn't seen them before. It looked like the little Naiad was having fun in the water. She smiled to them before dumping more water out of the bar. They must not have had anything bad happen to them.
Zuri chuckled. "Well, that's okay," offered the naiad. "I don't see any reason for us to get into any fights any time soon. In the time I've been alive, Telrunya Isle's always been pretty peaceful and nice. Even now, it still seems pretty peaceful despite the weirdness going on." The Guardians had caused the weirdness, anyway. It was supposed to happen; it wasn't like there were any foul forces at play.
"A power to make amazing art is a great power." He smiled at her in turn before turning back out to the infinite sea. "The ocean seems to go on as far as the sky went on back when we were in the air. It's almost like the scenery beyond the isle hasn't changed so much after all." Now that he knew what caused it, Zuri didn't see much reason to be concerned about these changes other than the fact that they made a place more appealing than his favorite lake was.
-----------
After deciding to give up on drying himself off--he was on the beach, after all--Criofan went back to looking around the beach for anything interesting. His scan of the environment brought his eyes to a woman who was smiling at him, before she moved to do something with some bucket she was holding. Confidently, he offered a smile and waved back at the demonic lady when she appeared to be glancing back in his direction.
What was she doing, anyway? Criofan stood up in an attempt to get a better look at what exactly had happened to the building that looked a little close to the water. It had probably just flooded, but why were there so many there, and why were they trying to empty it? It was way too close to the water...
Okeanos noticed Criofan stop paying attention to his waves, and pouted because he wanted everyone's attention always. So, he decided to eliminate what was distracting him. The little naiad followed the faerie's eyes until they fell on some woman who was giving the little naiad more water to play with. Maybe Criofan was just thanking her for all the water she was putting back into the lake! Satisfied with his conclusion, Okeanos went back to playing with the water..
Waikiki KiKi nodded. It was true the island hadn't really had too many bad things happen...at least not that she was aware of. Being able to make art instead was just as good or maybe better. Her Great Granddaddy made fireworks, so many she was like he was.
"Yeah, the water really does. I wonder how deep it gets? Do you think so deep it's dark? Like in the books?" KiKi had seen pictures of odd fish in the deep dark water.
Kaelia saw the male wave to her. She smile again before looking at the child having fun in the water. The adult mixed demon thought how nice it must be to only have fun and not worry. She liked when she didn't worry, but that was when she was in a cave alone.
"Oh, you bet." Zuri nodded firmly, turning towards Kiki excitedly. Now he could talk about the lake he loved. "Even the bottom of the lake begins to get kinda' dark when you go down there! It gets a bit harder to see because it's getting darker and darker, because less light reaches the bottom of the lake than the top." He had been down there before. ...Okay, not quite down there, but he did get pretty close to going into the darkness.
Zuri scrunched his nose. "I can't imagine how dark it would be in the bottom of the ocean. Maybe the fish that gives off light on top of its head is down there somewhere." His eldest sister had once talked about that fish. She found it fascinating, in the way that she wanted to figure out how that particular fish had done it and how, perhaps, she could learn to do the same. "It must be really dark down there if it's already harder to see at the bottom of the lake."
-----------
She smiled again! Ha, Criofan still had it. The tireless back and forth he had with Erylia wasn't totally destroying his charm. Speaking of Erylia, where had she gone off to? Ah well. He watched her decide to look over at his little brother, and had to wonder if having a little one around was helping his charm. Maybe he should drag the little one around with him more often.
...Nah, that would make it harder to be sneaky, especially with how obnoxious the child tended to be.
Hey! The lady was looking at him. "Hey!" shouted the little boy. "Toss me more water, lady!" For a little kid, he acted awfully bossy. Criofan turned to him and scolded him mildly, but the little boy snickered in a way that showed he really wasn't listening at all.
Criofan gave up on getting Okeanos to behave and turned back towards the woman in the distance. Maybe he should stop playing this waving and smiling game. Letting Okeanos do whatever he wanted, the leprechaun decided to head over to the woman with a friendly grin on his face.
...Yeah, he wasn't really seeing the problem. Well, that was, until he got close enough to actually see the building that was too close to the water. Instead of offering a charming greeting like he had planned, Criofan was stuck asking, "When did the Tiki Bar get over here?"
PostPosted: Wed May 27, 2009 10:38 am
"I've seen a picture of it. I wonder if it is down there? Even so I don't think I would want to go that far down. Even just the bottom of the lake is too far for me." Of course she wasn't a Naiad so going to the bottow was a lot harder for her to do. Even with her dad's bubble the air would stil run out.
Kaelia nodded to the boy. "Um...sure." She wasn't sure what else to say. So she tosses some more water out of the bar and towards him. When doing so her bucket light up as she caused it to glow with out paying much attention.
Hula Bob looked over at the fae and shook his head. "I guess the fall did it. It was pretty close to the lake to begin with...bummer dude." Hula Bob explained.
Zuri didn't really want to go to the bottom of the lake either. The bottom just seemed too far away, especially considering that it was in the salt water. Plus, didn't his sister say something about that deep of water having really high 'pressure' or something? He didn't know what that meant, but it didn't sound too good in any case. "Yeah, I don't want to go that far down either. It's probably too dark down there for me to see anything."
The naiad was glad that he still had his sense of sight. Zuri didn't know what he would do without being able to see. "You don't need to go that far in the water to have fun in it anyway. There's a lot to explore up here on the surface." It really did seem to go on forever. Where had the Guardians put them?
-----------
Luckily for the demonic lady, that seemed to placate the bossy little kid for the moment. Happy to get more water, he started creating more waves, except this time he was just jumping up and down in the water. Using his power was starting to tire him out a little, it seemed. "I love water!" exclaimed the yellow naiad, ignoring everyone and everything else but himself and the water for the moment. That gave Criofan the freedom to ignore Okeanos as well...
The fall? What fall? There was a fall? The leprechaun fae looked a little confused, but he went along with what the older demonic was saying. "Ah, that's not too good a'tall! Hope ya' can fix it somehow." Using these buckets certainly wasn't going to be much of a permanent solution, though. They needed to move the bar itself.
The Irishman offered a grin before turning towards the demonic who had been smiling at him, just in time to catch the glowing bucket. When did her bucket start glowing? "Ah, Lass, that's a very interestin' bucket ya' got there." He wanted it. A glowing bucket must have been valuable, there was no doubt he could put it into his stash. ...No, no, stealing someone's bucket was no way to be charming. He was trying to charm the woman, not steal her bucket... yet, anyway.
"Ya' need some help with this?" Assuming the answer was yes, Criofan glanced around for an extra bucket.
PostPosted: Thu May 28, 2009 9:51 am
"That's true. You'd need something to light the way. Like my Aunt Kaelia. She can make things glow. Or I know there is a fae that can make things of light. Maybe there is a Naiad that is like the fish we are talking about." Little did Waikiki KiKi know that there was one.
"Yeah, that's true." The teen stood up. She then walked in the water until she could swim. "You don't have to join me." She called to Zuri, but she had to get in the water. At least to try it out.
***
Kaelia smiled as she heard the fae's words and saw what she did. "Oh, well I did that." She touched it again and it stopped glowing. It wouldn't have last too long anyway.
Hula Bob smiled and nodded. "Thanks. If you want dude you can. But I think that I have plenty of help with the water. What we need is a super awesome plan to get this permanently fixed."
Zuri didn't exactly want to be left all alone on the shore either, though. He wanted to follow Waikiki Kiki. The naiad wouldn't let some stupid salt water prevent him from swimming with his friend and cause him to be stuck alone on the shores. Zuri took in a deep breath and slowly came to a standing position, before letting the breath back out. The naiad stretched out his arms and flexed his feet, causing them to crack. Then, he shook himself out and started a confident stride towards the ocean.
Admittedly, all the steps he was taking to prepare himself for the salt water were a little comical, but they certainly seemed to be effective. The naiad was able to bring himself to stick a toe in the water, tentatively. Wait for it... yes! The salt water didn't seem to be hurting him! Ha, he could totally conquer the salt water! The naiad strode further into the water, eventually swimming up to Waikiki Kiki.
The water was beginning to feel rather uncomfortable against his skin, but Zuri wasn't about to chicken out and leave the water after he had come into it. No, the last thing he wanted to do was look foolish in front of his friend. No salt water was going to scare him. "But I will join you," offered Zuri, with a grin.
-----------
The leprechaun watched as the once interesting bucket went back to being the mundane bucket it started as. She had done that? What a useful ability! She could easily fool someone into thinking that something incredibly mundane and boring was very valuable, and maybe she could use that to get someone else to give her a truly valuable item in exchange! ...Or maybe that was just Criofan. "That's a nice ability ya' got there. Tell me, can ya' do that to any object?"
The faerie then remembered there was someone else talking to him. No need to focus solely on her. He offered a sheepish blush he was good at feigning and an 'one minute' finger signal before turning his attention back to Hula Bob. "Ah'd suggest moving the bar somewhere else, but that's probably a fairly obvious solution. Is there any way to move the bar itself? Do you happen to know anyone who would be capable of moving it as a whole, or would you have to rebuild it?" If the bar had moved so close to the water in the first place, there had to be some way to move it backwards again.
He still didn't understand this 'fall' they were referring to, or the fact that the bar hadn't really moved. To him, it looked as if the bar had somehow been blown closer to shore by all the winds.
Okeanos, meanwhile, ducked his head under the water and swam around. He liked when Criofan watched him instead of his other choices in guardians. After all, Criofan tended to give him a lot more freedom...
