-Name: ClaraDusk -Age: Physical age is around 20 -Sex: Female -Race: Rouge Demon -Alignment: True Neutral -Weapons: Nameless Ones (normal dual katanas); second rate stolen daggers and ninja gear; anything in her surroundings -Skills: Good Stealth; Advanced strength; Experienced five senses; Experienced agility; Expert at hand to hand; Master at adaptation to her opponent -Powers: Control over energy in the form of heat, light, and electricity; Rage (only happens in key events or when provoked after over about 3/4 release she starts to lose control and goes beserk); advanced knowledge of human magick as well as demon magick; can heal slightly by absorbing heat/light/electric energy and converting it to matter [Powers improve over time and use, naturally] -Image: (Yes... I'm lazy about my appearance... This picture was just extremely close to what I had pictured though.) -Bio: She was born in the human world by her two average demon parents. They led her across the world while she was young and savage and they killed whatever enemies they came across teaching her to be uncaring and cold toward all living things. When she grew older and could see beyond her own bloodied hands she became uncaring for her parents and their raids. One night hiding in a forest beyond a village her parents confronted her when she refused to finish off a human boy. She slaughtered her parents in her rage releasing a power so intense that it burned her skin. When she finally suppressed her powers and the forest had burst into flames around her she picked up the unconcious boy and carried him to the outskirts of the village before passing out herself. The village took her in as his savior and took care of her until she was of age. She retained her cold demeanor over the years and just couldn't bring herself to play with the other children, or say anything beyond yes and no, or look anyone in the eye for more than a second. Then one day a bounty hunter travelled into town. As always, she was sitting in a corner of the village tavern when he entered. She stared at him as her stood in the doorway. A frayed, tattered dark cloak stretched to the toes of his heavy boots and a scarred hand settled on the hilt of a sword. After what seemed like hours had past, he glanced over at her. He was strong, she had known he was strong before he had ever entered the tavern. Strangely, she couldn't look away. He stood over the table she was sitting at and she finally pried her eyes out of his and stared at a knot in the wood. "What's your name?" She shivered, and after a pause, shrugged. "Hmph." he swung his cloak out and sat in the chair across from her. "You have to have a name. So..." A strange powerful feeling came across her like the feeling of someone peering into her soul. "Your aura looks like dusk to me. So how about that?" He smiled at her, and she looked at the knot in the table again, and a slight smile crossed her face for a second. "But that won't do for a common name will it? Let's see..." He reached across the table and lifted up her face to look into her eyes. "You look like... my sister... Clara." And in seeing the sadness in his eyes, hearing the echoes of screams in her head, and feeling overwhelming human emotion she looked away and a single tear rolled down her face. She started a living as a bounty hunter in the village. Although she never killed another decent human or allowed a human's death while she could prevent it, she always had an inward lust for violence and power that she couldn't resist. After almost a generation rolled by and the villagers began to notice that she hadnt aged, she left and wandered the land taking bounties to survive. She learned from the land and it people and demons along the way. Through her travels she evolved and adapted her skills and powers. She now wanders the world searching for truth and for her purpose in the world. -Theme Song (because I've always wanted one... owo): Janus - Eyesore

Man, you leave for several months, and you come back and your old guild is alive and kicking. There is far too much info for me to answer in this one post. I need to work in the morning, but I'll try to give what advice I can when I get back. These are some pretty good characters your imaginations are supplying. I can't really offer specifics, except to explore possible weaknesses your character may have. If you don't have any, then there is no suspense when you get in over your heads while adventuring. It's never a good idea to actually make your character's invincible. As fun as it sounds; it's not that fun for other characters playing your world with you.

Here is my character profile.Name: TangyAge: Older than she looks.Gender: FemaleRace: Wood Faerie Magic: YesMagical Affinity: EarthWeapons: Tangy tries not to get into physical fights. But if needed she will use her powers, ((Magic)) just to disarm them not to kill them. Pet: Tangy doesn't own a pet. But a wild "Air Shark" hangs around and she can pat it. But noone else can.Personality: Tangy is a sweet girl who is naturally shy. Once she has made friends Tangy never shuts up. Being a Wood Faerie Tangy loves nature and can't stand to be cooped up inside. Skills: Tangy has good stealth, can communicate with nature (she can hear the trees talk). She was taught hand to hand combat(though she hates to fight), her sight, smell, hearing and taste are above average.Appearance: History: Tangy was never born, she was created. She found her way to the small village of Rothbill and has lived there ever since. The King and Queen took her in as their own. Tangy loved to venture away from the village and came across Ari (Air Shark). Ari and Tangy have never been apart since. Now after I have finished I realised I have already done a character profile. So saying that, I hope this one is better than the other. Sorry about all that. That avi is my own creation (C)2009

She sounds like a cute, nice gal. But what happens if she has to deal with a fire being? How badly is she torn up, if she ends up having to kill to protect her friends. The description seems somewhat brief. Try describing her mannerisms in more detail. Or explain her build, etc.

Moon- I'm not sure, but it may be worth looking up the word 'emigrate'.

I think it is. It was just moving for a better job area. I'll change it asap...or when I next remember.

lot of these characters are quite well thought out. But be careful not to be too cliché about things though. If you are working with a cliche, the best way to make it better, is go for a twist on an old tale. My smart ogre for an example... many times when people give an ogre magic, they usually give the ogre his magic. My ogre gets his magic from the area around him; and is mostly useless in areas where living things aren't.

Is there anyway possible to put some of the things brought up through discussion on the first page via an edited post?
Yeah I'm too lazy to read through it all but really all in all it just seems like a character skeleton with a brief description and explanation. Anything more about the races? Cliches? How to make a well balanced character, or how to deal with 'special powers'.

I haven't heard from the person who started this thread for quite a while. I'll send a PM and see if he'll let me use my crew privileges to put some of the information on the front page. If not I'll start editing my first post here instead. But it'll take me a while ,because I don't spend to much time in a given day on Gaia.

Hmm, still no response from him. I'll give him until the 15th, then I'll make my own call on it.

I've never really been into the whole RP gig but I recently met a lovley woman named D who got me into the scene. I am trying to learn the tricks of the trade so if any one can help me out and give me some more tips than what has already been given I would appreciate it.

What kinds of books do you like to read? (If you don't read books much, then movies and TV shows can count.)
(This is important for choosing an RP or types of RPs, and will determine what kind of character you'll need to make. However, I personally prefer to make characters for a specific RP, but we can't find an RP for you without having it narrowed by some preferences.)
