suddenly a pair of iron shod hooves make contact with the side of the box and you hear some of the stable hands call out to each other... tam pulls you into an empty box beside the mysterious enclosed one and urges you to take cover under a fresh pile of straw in the back... a crack in the box's side boards give the two of you an interesting view and you almost doubler over laughing... for in the box is a large coal black destrider who's mane reaches halfway to the floor... you stifle yur chuckles though when it leans down and sniffs about a pail that is just out of your sight and comes up with a hunk of fresh meat... this is no horse... but a bonified nightmare... and you are grateful it is on the other side of the wall and not beside you...
tam takes one peek and quickly pulls away... me dad want to ride that? oooweee... i bet mum is gonna say something about that... he gets these ideas you see... likes to try things out... and she normally keeps him in line but she hasn't been around much lately.... whoa... that's one ride i am definitley going to see... ye with me?
tam waits until the stablehands calm the beast then drags you outside... dang... it sure was pretty tho... did ye see how they were feeding it the best cuts in there... made me mouth drool... boy i'm starved... let's go beg a bit from Champhy in the kitchen....

*Luciel looks at Tam, nods, and then gets a scheming look*
Hold on...I have these fuzzy memories...Kero's, I think...He knows how to ride nightmares...he is a dreamweaver, after all...I think...Iffin ye climbed up behind me...we could take that horse on it's maiden ride without much incident...whaddya say?

tam gives him a toothy grin... tonight then... dad's not gonna ride him today... not with mum home... and there'll be fewer people about to catch us... fair enough?

luceil zips around the servants who all seem not to even notice or care that he is there... a few smile indulgently at him but most go about their business as if seeing a small dragon darting about the gorunds is nothing to be concerned about.... tam takes to the air and catches up to him just as he comes into sight of the main house... Stunned Luceil lands with a thud in the middle of the path...
hey, what's wrong? haven't ye seen a palace before... asks tam alighting beside him...
luceil could only stare... the complex (for it is more complex than building) defies comprehension... towers jut out in a wild array, no two the same... and the main buildings are a compilation of style and construction... none of it matches and yet it all harmonizes beautifully... his nose leads him to one of the more sedate entrances... through which he finds a bustling kitchen with twelve fuol baking ovens and an equal number of hearths all in use... long trestles have been set up and are over flowing with meals in progress... servants of all breeds and demeanor rush about like ants in a disturbed hive... and over it all is a rather large water horse... she is sitting in a pool, directing the hectic dance with the skill of a master drill Sergent....

*Looks stunned...then his stunned look melts away*
Kero says to tell you that, If it were so impressive...they wouldn't have a WATER Elemental in the Kitchen....and the colors would be better organized.

someone has to keep those fires under control and who better, hmmm... haven't had one grease fire since we took her on....
anyway... somehow, even with all the hustle and bustle going on, Champhy sees both you and tam almost instantly...
het now... Talesian... ye know yer to wait until i serve the meal... what brings ye down to the kitchen heh... stealing me roasts again are ye?... then she looks closely at luceil... now ye be new.... i dunna recognize ye at all... ye are a might bit young fer fostering.... an i bet yer starving... heh... now yer not a gold.... nor are ye a copper... hmmm... Maggie bring me that jug behind the honey pots... ye... that's the one...
a small dog like creature struggles to bring over a large ceramic jug to the head cook... she reaches in and pulls out a handful of uncut gems.... they're not the prettiest in the world but i'm a betting ye might find their taste fair and sweet... topaz... ah... an here's a ruby or two... might even be an emerald in there ifin yer lucky.. but iffin ye want more ye'll need to wait until we eat... the mistress is back and we've a feast to prepare... Talesian... take him over to the corner there and don't ferget to get ye a bit to nibble on the way... and stay out from underfoot... ye here...
the kindness in her voice belies her gruff words and you smile as tam leads you to a quieter corner to eat yer finds...

*Later that night, after he had thanked the cook and introduced himself to her, Luciel and Tam sneak out to the stables. Luciel, remembering Kero's memories, keeps his thoughts calm, neither happy, nor sad, as he approaches and mounts the nightmare. He pulls Tam alongside him, holding him there with his tail. Suddenly, the Nightmare rears and charges out of the stable, sending the few stablehands about flying in different directions. The Nightmare is pulling Tam and Luciel on a hellish ride, charging about the grounds in a frenzy as he feels riders on his back for the first time*

people pour out of the palace, flying from balconies, running from the doorways... and at the front of the group are two individuals one of which you know very well... lyssan stands there, her hair flying in the wind frowning.... while at her side stands a tall dark wolf like male, whose ebony dark skin seems to crawl with streaks of blue light... neither one seems very happy at the moment...

*Suddenly, Luciel's eyes flash to green as Kero takes over, his emotionless mind slightly calming the horse, enough for him to read it's dreams and quiet them. With th horse calmed, he trots it over to the waiting two, pushes Tam off, then turns around and trots the horse back into his stall. When he flies back, his eyes suddenly flash between coppery-gold and emerald, until they finally settle on Copper*

lyssan eyes the two culprits with a frightening frown... and just what were ye thinking? she demands, holing up a hand to stall her mate who is attempting to talk as well...
the male kitsune gently takes her hand and forces it down... Talesian, he growls in a voice that sounds like rough sand paper... son, what if your young friend here had been hurt?
tam looks up at his sire, opens his mouth to speak then shuts it with a sigh without saying a word... he shifts awkwardly in place, looks sideways at luceil then shakes his head...
