Just a stage? For the 7th time on this unbearably hot night Ilusen was awoken by her young son Dylan trying to get into her bed. "Dee darling, whats the matter this time?" she said sympathetically, glancing towards her beside clock and noting that it was only 20 minutes ago that she had dozed off from the last round of crying. "Hurrrrtttt" Dylan whined, fresh tears running down his face and simply being unable to conjur up the energy to say anything else.
Ilusen picked him up and cradled the little boy in her arms, rubbing the top of his head soothingly she rocked him back and forth, hoping that the contact to his mom would calm him down. As he began to calm down she stood up and carried him back down the hall to his bedroom, both him and seleece were sharing a room tonight because for some reason they felt compelled to be close to one another. His sister was sleeping just as disruptedly and it only took Ilusen opening the door to wake her up and start her whining, which in turn started Dylan again.
Ilusen cradled both the whining toddlers on either side of her, wishing that Chalda was around to give her a hand. She really couldn't be doing with this, she wasnt emotionally stable enough herself! All three of them eventually began to doze off into a slumber as the early morning light began to filter through the curtains. Ilusen woke up a few hours later and picking both of the sleeping children up she went downstairs, opened the door and placed both of them in the back seat of her car. She had decided to take them to the Eden Project HQ to see if she could get any help, or even make sense of the situation. Prehaps it was a normal stage for the edens development?

Whats going on?! Ilusen Ilusen stumbled into the Eden Project HQ with a pair of sleepy toddlers resting on each side of her hip. Her face was bright red from having to carry them along the street, they weren't as light as they first seemed! She had been having a very very difficult time with them both this morning, more so than usual, and it wasnt because of the sibling rivalry which is almost always present, but because they were extremely restless.
Dylan had been whining on most of the night, getting up and down, up and down and waking Ilusen up because of scary dreams, his crying he would wake his sister Seleece up who would also start to cry. Ilusen had sat up most of the night trying to get them to settle down, because when they were asleep they were fine, which was strange because they never did like sleeping. She hoped that by talking to some of the other parents she would be able to suss out what was going on, prehaps this was normal for this stage?
Placing both of the drowsy toddlers down on the sofa's she sat between them with her head in her hands, absolutely shattered herself she started to doze off. Chinchillie Darby was having troubles of her own that morning. 'And it's got to be hot on top of things, doesn't it.' she reflected grumpily, walking up the path to the HQ. It was that much worse because she had several pounds of toddler leaning against her. With a noisy sigh she swiveled her head around. "I'm not a carry horse, Cain." "Sorry." he whispered. He leaned back again, earning another sigh, this time of relief. What was wrong with him, anyway? For such an energetic toddler this quiet was amazing. Not to mention how unhappy he'd been the last few days, and couldn't explain it to her. Cain looked exhausted. Frowning, she watched him struggle on his own for a few seconds, then growled, squinching her eyes shut. "Fine. Just...try not to lean so much, okay?" In this fashion they entered the HQ - stumbling all the way. At first Darby thought it was empty, but as her eyes adjusted to the indoors she saw someone sleeping on the couch. Three someones, in fact. If they were both her kids...well, pity on the poor woman. "Keep quiet if you can." she murmured to Cain. He was watching Dylan and Seleece, and hardly needed the warning. Ilusen Ilusen jolted awake suddenly, not from the entrance of Darby and Cain but from the fact that she had just about fallen head first off the sofa. She blinked her eyes adjusting to the sudden light change and looked around the room, noticing she had been joined by someone else "Hey.." she said sleepily "You here for some answers too?" she said nodding towards the toddler that rested on her side "Just what I was doing before" she said rubbing her eyes and smiling "These two little... darlings kept me awake most of the night." Chinchillie Darby absently tracked the woman's progress off the couch from the corner of her eye, keeping the other one on Cain, who took the opportunity to do a full exploration of the room. She jumped at the sound of a voice and spun around, fur starting to puff. "Oh. Hi." she said blankly, realizing who it was. Ah. "I hope we didn't wake you up?" Embarassed, she ran a paw over her fur and tilted her head to the side, listening with curiosity, feeling even more pathetic. Sleep deprived, and they'd come in and woken her up. Great. At the last sentence the ciel grinned. Now that sounded familiar. "Maybe it's a plague." she suggested. "Or the heat. They like that most of the time?" Ilusen "Oh no no, dont worry I can sleep through an atomic bomb most of the time, noise doesnt bother me, i just jolted myself awake by nearly falling off the couch" she laughed stopping a yawn. "Im Ilusen by the way, and the sleeping children either side of me are Dylan and Seleece, they're most certainly not usually this quiet.. but they make alot of fuss when they're awake so im just letting them doze to get some peace!"
She considered the suggestions which were put forward "Maybe it is the heat, both of thier souls are animals from much cooler climates so prehaps its that that is bothering them..." She paused a moment to think about this, looking thoughtful she bit her bottom lip. "Well, whatever it is I hope it stops soon because I really like my sleep! and im getting none of it with these two wailing on all day and night" Chinchillie The two didn't look capable of wailing right now, Darby thought, taking a closer look. ...was that a tooth? Huh. "Glad to hear it. Well, not the not being able to sleep thing, but you know." She shrugged and grinned at Ilusen. "Darby here. It's nice to meet you." Cain, mostly finished his inspection, crept around the back of the couch. By standing on his tippy toes he could see Dylan and Seleece better. They were sleeping in the middle of the day, which seemed odd to him. To poke? Or not to poke? "Probably the heat." Darby agreed, sounding mournful. Summer was horrible. Pausing, she flicked her ears up, looking thoughtful. "Come to think of it, Cain hasn't been doing so good either. Yeah. It's probably the heat." Ilusen She smiled at the young boy standing behind the couch peeking over the top "Those two would probably be playing with you if they were feeling ok Cain" she said to him smiling. Then turning back to Darby she nodded "Nice to meet you too, I came down here to see if any of the other edens were feeling ok, and I guess they aren't..."
She paused again, thinking, but was interupted by Dylan rousing out of his nap "Hey dee, you feeling any better?" she didnt get much of a reply because Dylan was looking back at Cain who was standing behind the sofa, he grinned, flashing what was there of his pointy teeth. "I guess the little nap did him some good" She said to Darby "But he still isnt himself, i swear he would be running round here tearing the place apart usually."

Girly time Ilusen had started to get into the swing of taking care of the two toddlers. With Chalda being away on bussiness, she was left with the daunting task. But to her surprise it wasnt that bad. However, she had noticed that Seleece had been rather quiet these past couple of weeks (something which is not normal for the usual bundle of energy) So it was with that that Ilusen decided they would spend some time together and do something fun without the annoyance of her little brother. But it was finding someone to take care of the little boy that was the problem. She had already been through her diary of names, and most were either engaged or just not up to the job. Reaching the final few names in her book she picked the phone up for what seemed like the millionth time that day and dialed the number of a friend she was sure she could rely on.

It was a good day for Umbra, everyone was out of the house, leaving it empty. Something bright orange darted into the kitchen follwed by a green and black dog. Ok almost everyone but M'hall and Decsuna didn't count, they were after all the only two non speaking animalistic members of the household. As long as they were fairly quiet Umbra didn't mind them playing indoors.
Closing her eyes she began to drift off to sleep on the couch, inevitably the moment sleep began to overtake her the phone rang. She stretched out and arm and plucked the phone off it's receiver before bringing it to her head " hello."

"Oh thank god you answered" Ilusen said sounding slightly exsasperated as she prepared to ask the final person in her phone book for this favour. "How are you keeping Umbra? Ive got a teeny favour to ask..." she bit her bottom lip, aware that she was lying "Ok.. so maybe its more than a teeny favour... would you please babysit Dylan for me while I spend some time with seleece? you dont have to if you dont want to, its just your my last chance." She took the silence on Umbra's end of the phone as a bad sign, but crossed her fingers in hope.

Umbra was now wide awake " Sure I'll babysit for you, do you need me to pick him up or will you be droppign him off?" While Umbra valued her rest she loved children to much to pass up an oppertunity like this.

"If you could have him at your house that would be great, im sure a change of scenery would do him good." Ilusen stopped herself from leaping for joy "Ill drop him off in about half an hour thank you so much. See you soon." She said as she hung up the phone and smiled at Dylan "Your going round to Umbra's go get your stuff ready chop chop!"
