*grumbles* Disappear for months and look at what one misses... XD

Can I get involved in some way? I promise there's no huge disappearances planned! I'm not that good at writing-on-demand, and my art is absolutely horrid, but I could edit the script, or... something... >_>

*wonders about asking for Lenore to be a character as well, but not sure what the plans are for characters anymore, or if she'd be allowed, or if the spots are all filled as plenty of people have asked and aren't on the list... XD

You can both indeed get involved. It's been halted for a while now... *sighs*

Amossk seemingly vanished...

[Behatz the Motivator] says: Well then, what do we need to do to restart it and kick it into overdrive?
PostPosted: Sun Aug 02, 2009 4:24 pm

What we need... Well, probably a bit more organization. And Artists...

From what I know, it's the Directors that send the plot idea to the writers, who set it up into script form, and hand it to the artists. So, first things first... what is the story basically about?

So... we going for a lighter tone, or serious? Crystal age does have a great many interesting factors, and we can use that to create two parallel stories that can come together in some way, I.E, focusing on part on an airship and pirate sorta life, and the other on city and the new inventions there. Then there's controversy over newer inventions, theft... well... many options there.

I could think too much on this, so I'm gonna stop that train of thought so others can comment if they know anything for certain about the story we're gonna be creating.

All I know is that we have a setting, some cool stuff and places to use, some characters and an over all idea that there are pirates, scientists, airship captians/crew that all need a spot in the story. Plus relationships between characters... ally, enemy, friend, romantic interest, rival...

As a writer, I prefer to write with people directly, or via e-mail or chat if possible. Makes it easier to compare notes on plot and character progress. From my years writing in story RPG's with multiple people playing, it's best to check in... oh yes... it is...

So let's play storyteller. <3

Well, I know a fairly good artist. We're friendly and she does my avatar art. It's in my signature, if you wanna look. She'd be willing to work for cheap if needed.

I've had many years RPing regularly in all forms, from MMORPGs to Gaia to real life. And I'm an amateur novelist and journalist. I've also co-written the script to a mod for a game called Neverwinter Nights. If no other writers are available, I'll help ya, Starflyer1.

Also, I'll readily fit into the slot of character. If anyone needs some personality info, just ask. I am rather interesting, I must say.

Well, can't we mix the two? razz I mean, I know the comic's mainly for guild people to read, but a great many of the webcomics that a lot of people in the guild read (or at least, I assume they do judging by discussions that pop up every now and then) manage to balance serious - or semi-serious, at least razz - themes and tones with bits of humor... (And to be honest, the whole steampunk genre has always seemed half-and-half to me - completely serious on one hand, yet tongue-in-cheek on the other... XD )

I like the basic ideas you have so far, but it's up to the directors to decide I suppose... And mostly the captain, since the Anachronism is his design and all... XD

Surely the humour in these situations are primarly drawn from either:
1. The wit of a character.
2. The absurdity of a situation.
In this case, I'd suggest a fairly dramatic tone, but not overly serious, with the characters and occaisionally the situations adding some joviality.

Woo, replies! I can't say I have much say to agree to artists or others being on as writers, but I know one of the people who was made a director... and I can poke her into action when I see her next.

With serious/not so serious, I know it's usually half and half, but pondering extremes. Is there going to be any serious events going on or have recently went on that might effect the story, like a recent law passed, or a battle? (and we cannot forget the random Angst.)

I'm gonna read over the tidbits the Captain has posted as well. I just get too into planning, and rather NOT start something, like doing a rough of a script that has nothing to do with some plans a director already has.

Perhaps we start with Characters. Can we make anyone allies and enemies? Who can we pair up at this point so they can fit in whatever kind of storyline that comes into play? Who is going to work together? Any families that will be important?

At least this way we can have people to play around with in this Crystal age "comic world".

I'm currently lacking proper internet, but should have it soon. Leeching makes for okay connection... but makes me nervous about if/when it will disconnect on me. x.x

I go more for lighthearted ventures, myself... although they are right, my fellow scriptwriter

Jad Skyseeker (my character) is a person who love to talk and tell stories. He is enemies with the unknown Pirates of the Purple Blade. He is an opponent to anyone who tries to steal from him, and an ally to anyone who takes interest in his tales, or helps him in any way. He keeps himself clean and never wears goggles, but carries a gun.

he has been decided as a main character already. He is intended for comedy.

hmmm, yes indeed.

Mylian, it was the female version that really interested me...

does he actually turn into the lady, or is she separate?

Yay! I have good internet now! Okay...

Copy-Pasting goodness...

--Cast---
1-Captain Amaranth
2-Amossk
3-Electric_Tok
4-SPI-14
5-Luna Starbright

---Side Cast---
1-PsychoBunnyFire
2-Lily Darling

I think, perhaps, we can still use all these characters since they were offered, even if the person isn't here. I mean... it's not like plagiarizing or anything. We do need more characters... but at this point... I'd say lets make a few, or else... well, someone more practiced in the main forum can put up a topic asking for anyone wanting to donate a character to the cause?

Anyone know if there's a direct link to any info about the characters, or is it just 'scroll till you find it'? Oh well...

So, I'm thinking for basics, we need at least 2-3 Steamboat personnel, one to take care of trade, one to cover military, and one to cause trouble. (<- Jad Skyseeker?)They'll need at least ONE active crew member.

Then on the main town, we'll use Mylian, and a few other characters to interact with them.

Of course, we'll need ONE regular crew of pirates, the pirates of the Purple Blade, right? Or else we can figure out something else.

I re-read the info. This is a time when there is peace, and no war. We could do with some military plot to take out the Pirates, but perhaps they go after the wrong person (Jad?) and thus there's trouble, other town characters get involved, and we have ourselves... um... chaos?

Just a general idea, I'm going off what I've seen from us active members.

Add in... anyone! >w<

I'm just saying, but you can either use me or my Khaos character, if you so wish. I wouldn't use them both, as we're so similar! xd

I'm an Aesthete, which means I admire beauty over all else. I'm also a dandy, so I'm rather philosophical by nature, but only on such things as Art, Youth and other gentlemanly pursuits. I'm technically a student, but I'm an amateur novelist and journalist. Therefore my novella self would have some artistic career, I imagine. I drink quite a lot, but only fine things like wine, brandy, whiskey, cognac, etc. My dress, in the graphic novella, would be a Steampunk version of reality: I am always overdressed. Imagine me weeding the garden in a top hat and waistcoat. My speech would be unnecessarily complex and eloquent, with an elegantly large vocabulary. Tone-wise, I'd speak like an Earl or Lord, but in actual fact my character would have little wealth.

My Khaos character is almost exactly the same but he's fabulously wealthy back in London, and he owns a raven called Lucian.
