It seemed to have silenced her completely until her face started to turn red. Little nervous laughs came out, too. Really, Richard made her feel like a teenager again, all flustered and crying over every little thing that happened. "Y-you're right," she muttered. "Guess I just have to keep my faith that he'll come back..."
"That's the spirit." Damian nodded and patted her back before standing once more. "For now, we just wait and try not to go mad. Would anyone like any popcorn or something to snack on? I'm determined to make you all a bit fatter, you know, both of you are so terribly thin that it makes one wonder how you manage to get anywhere without being blown away by a sudden gust..."
Damian prattled on, more to himself as he began rummaging for things in his food storage. He had a little bit of everything in there, but it was only as good as the people who ate it. In this case, two very emotional women who were going to be the ones driving him mad rather than passing time.

Raquel nodded, feeling like she would be fine. She shifted herself on the couch next to Lorey, noticing an old book on the table, probably from the library. Absentmindedly She picked it up, starting to fip through it with a tiny bit of confusion. She tried to not let her illiteracy show, but she didn't realize it was quite obvious since she was holding ti upside down.

Lorey's eyes scanned over to Raquel, holding the upside-down book. Her head tilted a little bit in confusion. "Uh... that.. won't make much sense if you hold it like that," she said, rather quietly, since she honestly didn't know what Raquel was trying to do with it. Maybe there was some kind of intellectual method behind the madness... she honestly didn't know herself.
Meanwhile, Damian was putting bags of personal popcorn into the microwave, pulling them out seconds later, pouring glasses of sparkling juice and making a general mini feast out of very simple ingredients. "...and there was that one time I did think sparkling goma juice was alcoholic, so I couldn't understand why everyone was downing it like water..."
He still didn't realize that just because he was speaking, not everyone was listening.

Raquel jumped slightly, shutting the book, slightly embarassed. "Oh...um.." She diverted her eyes. "I'm afraid I'm not that well read..." She noted with a shy smile. " I Was taught basics when I was a child, but I always had trouble...they never stuck with me..." She shrugged, a bit disapointed. Damian didn't know that about her either. Just one more thing to make her less attractive.

"Really?" asked Lorey, sitting up a bit more. "I can read, but that's about it. I don't know places, or math, or really much of anything. I don't know why Richard puts up with me when I can barely carry on an intelligent conversation... but he's helping me. I'm so happy he said he would because I really want to get better..."
Lorey's voice dropped off as Damian came back from the kitchen with everything upon a tray, which he set in front of them all upon the table. "You two seem to be making fast friends," he said, presenting each of them with sparkling juice in fancy glassware.

"Well...Maybe...You could help me sometime? And I could try to help you with what I do know." She offered, really wanting to better herself for Damian's sake. But she was vague in her request, showing that she didn't want him to know. The took the drink form him, with a gentle smile. "Thank you..." She said with a nod, sipping the beverage with care.

"Of course." There was no question in Lorey's mind that she would help out Raquel. They were like sisters in city life suffering, though she knew that Raquel had been through much, much more than she had.
"Help with what? Perhaps I may put in my two cents as well." Damian reclined in his seat with the true air of a man who had lived in the lap of luxury all his life. Even when sipping a simple drink, he looked as if every sip was something from above.

Raquel lifted her eyes from her drink with a shrug. "Nothing important..'lady things'..." She lied as she leaned forward to try some of the fatty yet delicious smelling foods. "I don't think I've ever eaten like this..." She noted honestly, trying a small bit, her eyes wide as she was pleasantly surprised.

"Lady things?" Damian repeated, raising his brow at them both. "I won't even ask."
Which somehow made Lorey burst out in a fit of giggling with just the way he looked. Even though Richard was out there and in terrible danger... well, there was no sense in worrying herself sick over something she could have no power over. It was even making her sick at how she was trying not to. There was simply no winning.

Raquel couldn't even hide a smile, trying to drink a bit more before leaning back a bit. "Are you sure?" She gave him a seductive smile. She had to admit, messing with Damian was getting more entertaining the closer they got. She laughed a little, crossing her legs to get more comfortable.

Two could play at this game. Damian leaned in towards her, peering at her from over the lip of his glass with his almond-shaped eyes of silver. "What would you have to tell me if I did ask?"
Lorey looked at her fruit juice to give them a bit of privacy, but really, it was becoming very awkward to be in the middle of flirting without having someone of your own to fall back on. Richard... where was he by then, and was he alright?

Raquel smirked a little, sighing sweetly. "I wouldn't want you to think of such things..." She said simply, trying to act as if she had a sophisticated air about her. She laughed a little, setting her drink down before looking up at him admiringly.

Hardly satisfied with that answer, but not wanting to make Lorey feel uncomfortable, Damian resumed his reclining upon the couch and said no more. His eyes, though, gave her a little questioning glance before the rest of his drink was promptly swallowed.
Lorey wasn't feeling very hungry, so she merely looked at everything with the sort of appreciation you would have for a piece of art or something too delicate to touch. "So... what do we do now?"

Raquel seemed to be wondering the same, not being much for awkward silences. "Well..Damian you are our host aren't you?" She asked coyly, an amused smile on her face.

His eyebrow went up once more in his comical fashion. "A host to those who live here? You are demanding, aren't you?" But he took on a very thoughtful pose, honestly giving a bit of thought to what he could do to take Lorey's mind off of Richard and Raquel's off of herself.
"I suppose we could... go swimming or something... but you two don't have suits, do you?" He never bought one for Lorey, and didn't recall Raquel buying one for herself. "Although I have no objection for two beautiful women bathing in the nude, Richard would have my eye teeth."
And he was at a loss, though some scandalous images were going through his mind, and were entertainment enough for him.
