'Lo all!
I be Fenris Claiborne, the newly reincarnated Smithwillsuffice... of months past. Put simply, lots and lots of crap ensued, and I quit Gaia for a while. I since started this account, and was asked to join by rl good friend Xemaca again. I had an awful lot of fun when I was a member here earlier, so here I am again!
So, for those of you who don't remember me/don't know me yet, here's all of the particulars again. Name: Fenris Claiborne (Jason in rl, use either freely) Hobbies: Hopefully Gaia again, MTG, reading, composing Age: 18 for another month Sex (don't be smart alec, we mean gender): I be male. Why You Came To GAIA: Well, it can be a fun place to hang out and make friends, not to mention all of the neat little activities and guilds such as this, and because pimpin' your avatars is addictive. What You Think About Xi Tech: A lot's changed in the 2 or 3 months since I've been here, I'll have a lot of looking about to do. How Long Have You Been On GAIA: This account is fresh off the runway, but in truth It'll be 2 years this February. Any Suggestions For The Guild: Give yourselves a pat on the back for doing such a fantastic job with this place.
Looking forward to seeing, meeting, and greeting everyone!

Embaressment is simply nature's way of teaching you what not to do next time. xd
Can you imagine a world without embaressment?

? No way.
Without embaressment, there would be a few good side effects, but embaressment is also one of the better parts of common sense. If a person doesn't get embaressed when he/she does something objectionable, what's to prevent him/her from continuing to do so. Embaressment is also a social symptom (i.e. if someone does something embaressing near-by, you feel embaressed). With no embaressment, many social norms wouldn't exist, like clothes. Several laws wouldn't have come into fruition either (i.e. public fornication).
If people want a world where everyone is happy and self-confidant, then all they're missing is the self-confidance to make it so.

Alright then. We'll go with an example.
Supposedly the most popular nightmare among teenagers is that of showing up at school with no clothes on. Now, if you were to do that, would you feel ashamed or embaressed?
Shame is a form of guilt. Embaressment stems from modesty and common sense.

While shame itself is embaressing, the opposite is not necesarilly true.
Put it this way then, would feel ashamed of a common mistake, or embaressed by it?
