Shef scrambled up immediately. "N-no! I'm fine!" he exclaimed in response to Reign's human. Shef almost lost his balance immediately, but caught his weight just in time--to step backward and land his foot in a gopher hole. Shef toppled over backwards.

The boy just lied there, unhurt, but unmoving.

When he finally spoke, his voice was droll and lifeless. Likely wondering at the craziness of his story.

"A giant demon wolf is trying to eat my golden grandfather owl."

((No, you're fine biggrin ))

Holly stretched out in the soft grass, holding her head in her hands. "You're as much of a clutz as I am," she laughed, kicking her feet.

Narissa left her comfortable perch and slithered onto the ground. "Would that 'grandfather owl' happen to be Regond now?"

((Narissa's a coral snake, highly poisonous VENOMOUS {*glares at fatal* lol jk}. She won't hurt them, but they don't necessarily know that...))

"I think I love you even more now than I did when you were alive."

"FALIAN!"

She turned at the voice, and her entire aura brightened.

"REIGN!"

She ran forward to tackle the great wolf, hugging her around the neck.

"Reign! I'm so happy you're okay! You had me worried when you went running off by yourself!"

Reign chuckled.

"Just tending to some business, my dear," she replied, nuzzling Falian's hair. The very air around them seemed to shimmer as they embraced - was this the power of the bond that connected Guardian and Guarded? "I'm worried more about you. Anything happen while I was gone?"

Falian withdrew to sit on her ankles and shook her head.

"No," she replied. "But then again, you would be able to sense it... wouldn't you?"

Her eyes sparkling, Reign nodded, and Falian smiled, standing up to turn to Shef.

"You're a klutz," she stated simply, walking over to him. "Need help up THIS time?"

Reign glanced upwards towards Regond and rolled her eyes before looking over to Holly.

Another one. She thought grimly, eying the snake, waiting for the creature to acknowledge her. When they had last parted, it had been on rather tense terms. Hopefully the relationship was all right now - Reign had that certain charm about her after all. My, my. Looks like the gang's all here.

((It's okay if all the Guardians know each other, right?
And question: Explain to me about the bond the guardians share with their humans. What happens if the human is killed? Do the guardians die with them? Do the guardians die if the humans die of natural causes? When do the guardians cease to be immortal, if they ever do? Can they live forever, regardless if their human is gone?))

Narissa eyed the wolf, but no grudge could be seen in her reptilian eyes. "So this is your human," she observed, staring unblinkingly at Falian.

((Yes... so, technically, it is Shef's father's soul who guards him, even if at its most extreme end of the personality spectrum. Since everyone has gone with the idea that Guardians exist CAN exist before their human, I'll say this: the Guardian and Guarded (I like that term) are still made for each other. They're just not necessarily made at the same time.

Though that gives one cause to wonder... how Shef's father and Regond were separated, then.... ninja

Guardians are not immortal. They are mortal creatures and, unless it specifically states so in their powers option, they speak using their mouths. In Earth form, at least.

The bond Guardians and Guarded share is very deep... if it has time to grow that way. It kind of helps when your Guardian and Guarded are MEANT to be together.... I would say it's possible for the two to telepathically communicate, if they are very deeply connected, but telepathy between Guardian and anyone other than Guarded is impossible. Their personalities match deeply... are in tune, so to speak. Their emotions--the strong ones--tend to match each other, too.

If one gets angry, the other shall, and if one is enveloped in deep grief, so will the other. It may be numb or faint, but it is still there. At best, you can tell how your Other is feeling. At worst, the emotion will take over you.

Both Guardians and Guarded are mortal. But neither dies if the other does. It just hurts a hell of a lot--emotional pain, that is. Think as if the person closest to you dies--and magnify the pain. As if your soul was wrenched in half. The inspiration for this part comes from Eragon.

Guardian and Guarded are closer than any two people can be. Their souls are intertwined.))

((Of course, we haven't gone over every bit of this. Kaye is free to interject or question what he wants... I, for one, am completely open to compromise. Reasonably.))
