Timaeus couldn't help but laugh at that. It was hard to believe it now, but it was true - she had once been smaller than anyone he had ever seen - not that he could remember that far back. He didn't even know if he had been born before she had grown or not. Still, he had heard the stories. And had he not seen someone that size only a while ago?

"And if I may ask, sir," he grinned, "who else is coming on this trip?"

"As far as I know Celeborn, Caranthir and Aerin will be coming with," Donovan replied, "But those are the only names I have so far, and only because I ran into, or met them as the case would be for those two."

That had certainly been interesting, he still didn't know what to make of it.

"What do you think?" Lin inquired of her father.
"I think your brother was being polite."

Timaeus chuckled. "They're an odd pair, and no mistake," he agreed. "Four years they've been here, and no one knows anything more about them than the day they arrived ... with the possible exception of Aragost, of course. Though I understand Rhea has her own way of knowing things."

Not that he really knew, he hadn't really seen her much, despite their living so near.

"So I've heard from Triton," Donovan murmured thoughtfully.

He wondered what was going through Lin's mind about that, since she liked or disliked mysteries depending on how you looked at it.

He shrugged, "Well, I guess I'll see tomorrow, it should be interesting, and I'm already curious before you telling me that."

Timaeus nodded. "Trust me, sir, so is everyone else," he assured him. "I've been on several trips with them already, and I can't figure any of it out. To be fair, I've never tried just asking them what's going on, but I sort of feel as if it wouldn't be very prudent of me, if you know what I mean."

"Of course, well we've had mysteries before, so it wouldn't be the first time," Donovan replied with a shrug.

He didn't mind, after all he could live with having Aragost around when he was a mystery (and he was still a mystery to Donovan).

"Well... I'll talk to you both later, Lin, try to be on time for dinner."

He knew her habits by now, not that she had any reason to stay, but one never knew with her.

"Try."

"Good night, sir," Timaeus smiled cheerfully at Donovan as the man left him and Lin once more.

Once he was gone, he turned to Lin and grinned. "So. What would you like to do? Riding refresher? Training? Anyone you'd like to stalk? It's a few hours yet to dinner time."

Lin chuckled at Timaeus' stalking comment. Would she never live such a thing down she wondered at times?

Though it was a good quesiton... she had been keeping up with learning (horse back riding sessions was how she found out how her father knew in the first place), and she could train.

"Hmm... How about training?" she inquired rising to her feet.

Only for a few hours, she was sure she would make it back in time.

"Sure," Timaeus grinned. "What weapon?"

He hadn't seen her train before, he had been either too young or else out on hunts with the others, but he had heard that she was pretty good.

"Sword," she replied without thinking.

She smiled, it was nice to spar against someone else besides her father and Vincent. Both were insufferable at times, even though they were good at what they did.

When Haradhel served dinner that evening, everyone from the family was present - Elrohir, Ahren, Arahad and herself - as well as a few others. Serenity and Beren were there, back from wherever it was they had been traveling for so long. Also joining them, for the first time in a long time, was Daeron - darker than ever and with a fresh scar down one cheek.

Aragost was also there, seated at the same table as everyone else, but off to one side - with them, but apart from them.

Dinner was at least a calm affair and they all got to see people they haven't see in a while. Though Miyu's fingers twitched at Daeron's new scar, she wondered if she could make it go away... not that it would matter. It wasn't health threatening or anything and it would be a waste of magic she knew.

She took the seat well.. relatively closest to Yami-san, since her grandmother was here.

Lin was of course eager to catch up with Serenity, and Beren and Daeron, telling them about the trip to the Southland. After all she was sure all three of them would like to know especially how Tinuviel was fairing (being courted for several decades had to be tiring).

Though she couldn't help but wonder what trouble Daeron got himself into.

"You know," Serenity smiled at Beren, "someday we're going to have to go back there again. We spend so much time on the plantation and with Estel and Lothiriel ..."

Beren chuckled softly. "Then we will," he agreed. "Soon, perhaps."

Daeron had been long away from home, and it was he who was asking the most questions - after all Lin spent more time with his siblings than he himself did.

"How much longer do you think Tinuviel will be putting up with suitors she doesn't like?" he chuckled softly. He wished he knew his sister better, but she had pretty much grown up without him.

Aragost had pulled his cowl down while he was in the house, since he knew that it was rude to keep his face hidden, even though it was so scarred and black now. The family had long since grown used to his appearance, but he was still worried about the Winterses and how comfortable they would be with him.

"I wish I could say not much longer," Lin murmured with a sigh, "But your sister was well raised to be heir, she won't turn down their visits... it would be rude."

As much as she hated to admit it, it would be, and the fact that Tinuviel had put up with it being in her what? Forties... early Fifties? Well if she hadn't stopped now...

"And really she doesn't like any of them, from what I managed to tell they're all lords and they're pretty much all the same. Insufferable..." Lin shrugged, "Granted I heard this through the opinions of Earendil and Tinuviel, but... I'm pretty sure they're quite accurate."

Especially since Tinuviel had mentioned that what Earendil went through with Halaleel was a taste of when she went through.
