Aya saw Ainsley looking at the unopened book in her lap. I don't want to worry them, she thought. She shoved the thought of her parents away and opened the book and started reading it.

Ainsley instinctively knew that Aya didn't actually want to read. But she believed that she wasn't upset because of them, so she turned her attention back to Anna completely.

Anna watched Aya do her little 'look out the window and then pretend to read' thing, and knew she didn't want to read. As Ainsley turned her attention back to her, Anna tried to recall what she had said would have been hard for her to do. "Ah yes. Well, that's where strength training comes in, but I won't try to make you pump weights because I doubt there are any at the place...manor...wherever we're going."

((Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I've been without power for the past four days. I feel now respect my toilet a lot more. ))
Ainsley laughed a little. It seemed ridiculous that they'd be going to someplace that they didn't know anything about. Who knew if they were just going to be sold as sex slaves, or just be killed there? But she pushed the fears that had started growing her mind, and focused on the other part of her statement. "Thank goodness. I can't imagine picking up two statues in the gorgeous garden and using those as weights. They'd probably be more than my house." She gave a grin, and asked, "So, what are you willing to teach me?" She hoped that this idea would work. She didn't want to spend her entire time here in pain because of the rigorous training.

((Oh, man. I feel sorry for you. I'd die if I had no power. XD Even though I'm using my laptop, I wouldn't have internet if I had no power.
Gah! I've been having major writer's block recently, but it's really only for this role play. There isn't much to do, since we don't have very many people.))
Aya's mind kept drifting to her parents. I wonder how they are... she thought. They should be getting home from work right about now. I wonder what they'll do when they see that I'm not there...

"Oh, you know, the basics. Self-defense stuff." Anna shrugged, then turned in her seat to face the driver. "Hey, about how long will this trip be?"
"About two days."
"Ah. Thank you." Anna turned back to Ainsley. "I'll probably start you wherever we stay for the night. I won't train you nearly as hard as my neighbor, so don't worry." Anna fondly recalled training her annoying next-door neighbor. He had spent quite some time taunting her, then suddenly changed his mind and asked her to train him. But those days had not been forgotten, and a week later, though he was much stronger, he had left her care.

((I did go crazy Stefis. I didn't have my laptop either: it's battery barely lasts 15 minutes. I really need to get another one.))
Ainsley nodded, "that doesn't sound too bad then. Though I get the feeling that if you get mad at me, then I'll regret it for weeks." She gave her a grin, then it shattered at the driver's answer. "Like straight? We're going to be stuck in here to two days?" It seemed insane. The poor driver couldn't last that long. And she'd offer to drive, but the biggest thing she could drive was a 93' Honda Civic, much smaller than this limo.
((We do. I don't know how we'd go about it though. I'll ask the two other people I know from this guild.))

((I never really understood how that helps anything...though I've also never had it happen.))
Ainsley smiled at her understanding completely, "We'll try and distract ourselves so that we don't read the entire time, and if we do, we'll trade, okay?"
((Oh my god, my electric company just called, like at 11:00 to ask me if I had electricity. I got it 12 hours ago! Why did they have to wait until it was so late?!))

But, yeah, my eyes are back to normal now. Dilated eyes annoy me. I'm never drinking alcohol. EVER. -.-))

((Nice. You don't have college , music, sports or anything as your 'anti-drug.' You have eye doctors. Well, that's fine, as long as it works. ))
Ainsley smiled, leaning down to pull her backpack into her lap. It was bulging, because she had first stuffed it with a bunch of books, and then with clothes. She struggled with the bag, straining to pull it up from the floor than over her knees. She winced slightly as it landed heavily onto her lap. Zipping a front pocket, she started naming a couple. "A Dirty Job that one's hilarious: Christopher Moore's a genius. I guess everyone with that name does something famous. Day of the Scarab--have you read the first two? I have The Oracle Betrayed and the second one ((I don't remember it's name>.<)) if you haven't." She turned to look at Anna, "I know that you aren't much for reading, but I think you'll find J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood wonderful. Though it is a little 'adult.' But I brought Tamora Pierce's first three series. And they're about knighthood." She grinned at her, "I haven't read them in so long I wanted to bring them. They're quick reads, actually children books, but I love her."

((Awww...I'm sorry. But if you haven't read any of them, they're wonderful. But the Black Dagger Brotherhood is very adult. So if you aren't comfortable with that don't read it. But anything by Christopher Moore is worth reading.))
Ainsley gave her a smile. "Then you can borrow any book you want that I'm not reading." She reached into her bag, struggling for a moment, then pulling out a thick hardcover book. She handed it to Anna, "Here are the first two books in the Lioness Quartet. They're about a girl who switches places with her twin brother and disguises herself as a boy. She becomes a page in the first and a squire in the second. Alanna is wonderful, and creative as she learns." The brunette grinned as she spoke of the series.
