Pandora sighed as she realized she was in this even though all she had ever cared about was keeping herself alive and then taking care of Kayley when the little girl came into her life. She also sensed that Blayd and the others would need her skills simply because very few of them knew how to survive on the streets. She then looked at Bella. " Kayley stays with me. I can take care of her I've been doing it since she was born. She also has problems when she gets seperated from me. It wouldn't work. She stays with me. Before you make a comment about it not being safe she'll be fine Kayely's been through a lot with me and if worst comes to worst I can leave her with some friends of mine who are in a gang. All of them have a place for her and me. They told me this years ago. Kayley was about 1 at the time. They said if ever I needed a place to stay whether it be for me or Kayley they would welcome us with open arms. I won't do that yet though. It's not bad enough yet."

blayd's heart rate was returning to normal, and he felt feathers floating around him. he listened to what the others were sasying intently, but was still confused by his transformation. he knew now that his mother had been honest with him. he was indeed a son of Athena, but how? she was a maiden goddess. and who was his father? he was unsure of this, but he decided to join in on the conversation nonetheless. "pandora" he said "why don't you come with me if you don't intend to go home? i have to get a few things from my house anyway, and i need to talk to my mother...."

Pandora glanced over at him and nodded her head. " I'll come are you ok Blayd?" She didn't think he was hurt but couldn't tell. She shifted Kayley around in her amrs. All of this standing up sitting down and shifting was making Kayley a little more difficult to hold than usual. She began muttering under her breath about how out of shape she must be if she was getting tired of carrying her 4 year old sister.

well i'm not hurt physically as far as i can tell" said blayd "but changing into an owl hybrid definitely raises a lot of questions" and at that they headed off towards his house which was about two blocks away

Pandora chuckled at his response. " Yes I can see how that might raise a few questions. After all you think you're halfway normal and find out you're not."

blayd laughed at this remark "i never thought i was normal, i just didn't think i would ever have feathers." he entered his house and his mother was there waiting for him in the living room witha slightly somber look on her face. he said to her "what's wrong mom?" even though he knew she was probably aware of what was happening. she replied "son, it's time i tell you who you really are" the color drained from blayd's face

Pandora noticed Blayds look and shifted Kayley and grabbed one of his arms with her free hand and guided him over to the couch where she sat him down. She then shifted her little sister so she could lean against the back of it. She wasn't facing them but she could still hear everything that was being siad.

blayd's mother looked at blayd as he sat down and he listened intently to her, as she said "it's time i tell you who you really are" and blayd said "who am i mother? i need to know" and she said to him "i am not your mother, Athena is." blayd's nearly passed out at this point, but he kept his wits about him and said "how is that possible?" she replied "this is wht your father told me, a long time ago, Athena watched as many demi-god heroes gained glory through battle and quest, but she could not bare a child because she was a maiden goddess. she finally could take it no more and went to apollo , and said to him "my half brother, i wish for a child, but i cannot be impregnated, please, if anyone can tell me a way that i can have a child it would be you" to which Apollo replied "go to our step-sister ilithya,a and tell her that you wish to have a child without getting pregnant. Athena did this and ilithya told her that she must find a mortal woman willing to bear a child for her and grant her one wish. she found me, blayd. she told me that i could have anything that i desired, so i told her that the only thing i wanted was to be with Apollo, the sun-god. she convinced him to come to me and he fell in love with me, and i him. we loved each other, and so it came to pass that a mortal woman bore a mortal child whose parents were two immrtal gods. Athene is your mother. Apollo is your father, yet you are mortal." blayd could no longer talk or move, he was astonished

Pandora noticed this and reached over and thumped the back of Blayd's head. " I know this is surprising but say something you're scaring the poor lady Blayd and that's not very nice at all." She then gave his mother an apologetic glance.

to this blayd said "i don't know what to say..." and he thought for a second and said "you may not be my mother by blood, but i will always love you like a mother. i must go now, but first, i have to retrieve a few things" he went to his room and got a great hunting bow

Pandora took one look at the bow and nearly began drooling. She loved a good weapon and her hands were itching to try Blayd's bow. She kept on eye on it while he came back into the room. She then smiled impishly at Blayd. " See you did know what to say to her after all Blayd."

"i guess so" said blayd " when i grabbed this sword i had a vision. we need to go to Athene's temple in town. but first we should get the others"

Pandora straightened up and nodded her head at Blayd. " All right let's head back to the Diner so we can get everyone." She then grabbed his arm and began to haul him out the door before she realized what she was doing and let go of his arm and gave him a sheepish smile as she once again shifted Kayley.

blayd blushed and smiled back, following her out of the door and as they walked towards the diner he cleared his throat, and to end the akward silence asked her "what do we tell the others?"

Bella ducked past the chaotic diner where her parents were trying to sort things out. Behind that, at her house, she zipped upstairs. She packed the car with water bottles, pre-packaged food, hid money and a flashlight in the glove compartment, and stashed all the razor blades, needles, scissors, and thumbtacks she could find. Just in case. There was also the backboard from their old airhockey game that could serve as a sheild. She circled her room, thinking. What weapon do I have? What in here could be used... Bellatrix suddenly spun around. There. She began ripping through her closet, groping, and in the back corner she found what she'd been looking for-- her old bow from summer camp. It took less than five minutes to dig up the pack of arrows. After a quick check that the guest rooms were clean and clear, she dashed back downstairs to wait for the others in the car.
{{me: yes, I plan on pulling a Rachel Dare here, exchange the hairbrush for thumbtacks. I just can't resist ^^}}
