Kali couldn't help but think about how whatever-that-was felt ominous to her.

Fatal grinned as he willed the vision not to fade away. However, it did....

"This, I like to see," Fatal said slowly, eyes still dilated from the adrenaline rush the visions had given him. "Luraia. It was a pleasure to invoke your being once again."

Fatal knew not, whether his imperial control over the living dead would apply to Luraia, but (and especially in light of what had just happened) he did not think he should care to try. Even before, he had not known what would happen, certainly.

But now, Fatal could tell that the soul had forged once more into a body, using dark powers... not Deathly powers, just dark powers. She was, in effect, no longer deceased. And that meant that Fatal held no control over her.

Then Fatal turned to regard Kranza. He still held the Assist Trophy, but before the necromancer relinquished it, he raised one questioning eyebrow. "And your share of the bargain?"

Fatal had to stoop to pick the coin off of the floor; his reflexes and hand-eye coordination did not allow him to catch it in the air. Fatal examined the coin, both visually and magically, but if he was supposed to be able to find something within it that revealed its supposed true nature, then he was failing miserably. Maybe that, in itself, was the nature of the coin--to avoid detection of its true abilities.

Because an Assist Trophy breaking was a very undesirable thing for all parties involved, Fatal set Aoi's Assist Trophy down gently, then backed away from it. He was still examining the ring.

"And is that all that you plan to tell me?" Was he not to know the name, general whereabouts of, specific details of, his new prey?

((I forgot if you've told him anything about the guy before or not. It's the Beast, right?))

Fatal's memory immediately flashed to the creature he had encountered in the grotto... Ninian's Library. 'The Beast' was the only word that could describe the being.

Fatal saw that he would receive no more aid in this, or so he could foresee, but his talent of clairvoyance was rather faulty: that is, nonexistent.

((So, do I leave? Is that all I'll get out of ole' Kranza? And the Beast in on Din Island, right?))

Fatal's grin broke out into an ear-to-ear expression of incredulity. "No kidding," he replied after a moment, and shook his head in bewilderment. "Just think..." he said to himself, "only a barrier of time, less than one day, separated me from that which I sought so...."

Fatal turned, and strode a few steps away, before turning and pacing back, for a few revolutions. After a minute or so, Fatal shook his head again. "Magic," he said, as if it were a curse, but the meaning of this eluded Kranza. Then, to Kranza once again: "Is that all? I shall have you know, this is very good... excellent, in fact. I thank you for your business...."

Which were six words Fatal had never thought he would say. But immortality... that, in and of itself, was worth sacrificing any and all levels of pride and integrity, hand in hand, for.
