Minkishi smiled and held her hand tightly. He closed his eyes and began to focus more than ever. From the comfort and warmth he felt from her and the determination to get stronger, he was able to hold the bubble longer than before.

She clasps his hand in hers and smiles back at him before closing her eyes. Bathory powers the bubble on her part from the love she shares with Minkishi, smiling at his determination. When the bubble finally gives out, she opens her eyes and wraps him in a hug tightly. "That was excellent!! You really are getting stronger by the day Minkishi."

Minkishi nodded his head and stared at Bathory. "That's good. I like progress. But I wouldn't be able to do it without my talented teacher." He hugged her gently and laid his head on her's. "But it is very exhausting for me. So, I'm not as strong as you think."

Bathory gives him an affectionate smile and returns the hug, "Thank you Minkishi...noone's ever been so nice to me before you." She keeps one arm around his waist while the other reaches up to tentatively stroke through his beautiful hair, "I know you're every bit as strong as I give you credit for, you just haven't had to length of training to build up your endurance yet. It will come to you. Besides, I love you every bit as much for your strength of heart as your strength of will.", she presses a soft kiss to his shoulder and nestles into him, feeling safe in his embrace.

Minkishi closed his eyes. He felt warm surround him and her rhythmic stroking of his hair made him relax. He felt tired. He wished he could stay like forever, or at least take a nap in her arms. "I'm glad I met you..." He sighed. A tiny cackle filled the water. "You're so pathetic!" A beta swam out from the kelp. "Minkishi, I knew you were no good." Minkishi jumped and pushed Bathory behind him. "Sister..." He hissed.

Her lips curve into a happy smile against his shoulder and she continues to stroke his hair, "As am I Minkishi..."
She gasps at the voice, her hands on Minkishi's shoulders as she peeks over to catch sight of female beta, staying behind him for the time. Sister? Oh no...another of Kerrigor's children, this is bad.

"Oh, Minkishi, playing with filth. I knew it would happen, I just knew!" Ka-Bala laughed. "Ever since you took sides with that blind whore, I knew. The insects continue to breed."
"Go away." Minkish hissed and she continued to laugh.
"So, which of the filth did you choose to love?" She titles her head and tries to peek around Minkishi.
"I swear Ka-Bala, if you don't leave now..."
"What you'll hurt me with your fancy magic? Yes that's right, I was watching you. That magic is nothing compared to what father taught me."

She listens with a growing sense of dread, then frowns and shakes her head, she won't let Minkishi take the fall for her. She reaches around Minkishi's side and takes his hand, giving it a light squeeze before moving to his side and pinning a stare on Ka-Bala with cold blue pupilless eyes. "If you attempt to harm him, you will deal with me as well. Do not think to underestimate my power or that of my family."

Ka-Bala laughed. "Oh, insect, your family doesn't scare me. It's my father's family you should fear."
"Ka-Bala. Leave." Minkishi gazed at her with hollow eyes. He was stiff.
She continued to laugh. "Oh, whatever. You two are boring anyway. Father tells me not to play with scum anyway." With that, she turned around and swam away.
Minkishi stood still till she was out of sigh. He let out a shaky break and faced Bathory. "I'm sorry about her. She likes to torment me for choosing my mother's side... But don't worry about her."

She give him a soft smile and cups his cheek in her hand, "No need to apologize, my own is just as bad. Thank you for protecting me." She moves in and wraps her arms around him again in a hug.
"You are strong Minkishi, and I believe in you."

Minkishi continued to frown. "I don't trust Ka-Bala, at all. She's never up to anything good. She's cruel just like the others. She must have followed me here. I need to pay more attention..." He sighed. He finally looked at her and hugged her. "Thank you for believing in me."

She looks at him, reaching out to brush her palm down the side of his face, "Perhaps it is time to stop hiding Minkishi, I would rather tell them myself than have your sister tell them just for spite. I am not ashamed of you or the love I feel towards you, if they can't accept that, then to the Hells with them. Together, we can stand against anything. We'll protect your mother from them." She returns the hug and nods gently, "You're welcome, and I will always believe in you."

Minkishi closed his eyes. "No... it's too soon. Don't worry about her. She's on Kerrigor's side. All she knows is I'm acting like my mother and attaching myself to VooDoo. She might tell Kerrigor about us... but I doubt he'll care. Perhaps angry, but I don't care about him." He slowly looked back at her. "He might pay attention when he learns about my powers... But I wouldn't worry."
He took her hand and held it. "It's still too soon. I'm not strong enough."

Bathory just nods, lacing her fingers through his. "I trust your judgment Minkishi. I just pray that we are not so unlucky as to be caught by one of my family. Father may understand but he may not as well..."
She tilts her head a bit and considers, "Perhaps not yet...but soon. You are already so much stronger than you were when we met. Your control is many times better." She smiles softly at him.

Minkishi nodded and looked down at their hand. "Soon... till then, we need to be more careful. We have to make sure no one follows us here." He lifted her hand and gave it a tiny kiss. "Your safety is most important to me, so we need to be very attentive for now on."
