Personality: He may come off as charming and friendly, but generally it's just a cover so he can help himself to someone's valuables. If one gets to know the real him, he's mouthy, sarcastic, and at times, flirty. He also takes great joy in pissing others off.
History: Given his attitude and tendency towards stealing, some might think Takashi came from a hard to do lifestyle, or family that didn't give him the right attention. Those people would be wrong. Takashi was born to a very loving family, with parents who gave him nothing but love and protection. Pouring it on to him until he felt as if he were being smothered with it all.
So the boy acted out. It started with small things: sneaking change from his mom's purse, hiding his dad's car keys, or sneaking a snack without permission. As he grew, so did his actions. He began stealing magazines from stores, picking the locks to other student's lockers.
Then one night, he got caught breaking into someone's home. The cops returned him to his parents, charges were dropped, and his parents simply shook their heads and stared at him with sad eyes. He hated those eyes.
Rather than stop, he improved. He practiced until his fingers were as nimble as any master thief's, and until he could move with the shadows like darkness itself.
Using those new found skills, he ran away from home and entered a professional life of crime. Taking only what he needed, and never staying in one place for too long. He became a nameless drifter who blended with the background.
On one fateful night as he was out at sea, aboard a ship traveling to another country, a storm hit. Lightning ripped across the sky as waves tossed the ship to and fro. Hoping to take advantage of the confusion, Takashi broke into the captain's cabin to help himself to the captain's loot. But it turned out he was not the only one ill deeds in his heart that night.
Blood covered the captain's normally organized desk. And the captain himself was lifelessly slumped in his chair, a knife protruding from his chest. Taking advantage of Takashi's surprise, the perpetrator tackled the young fox to the ground. He dragged Takashi back out before the crew, bellowing accusations of murder. Takashi tried to voice his innocence, but it fell on deaf ears. The crew tossed the fox overboard, leaving him to be consumed by the angry sea.
When he next awoke, it was to find himself on a strange island and in the company of Daveigh, an anthro who'd discovered him on the beach. Takashi didn't remain conscious long, but rather than leave the fox out on the beach, Daveigh took Takashi back to his home to care for the male. There, Takashi quickly recovered and began to explore his new "home."
