Personally speaking, since I have to choose one, I think a guy like Andre Johnson is the most impressive. He's been good while the Texans haven't been so hot. He doesn't have an amazing QB to get him the ball. Hell, he doesn't have a QB. The Texans need to sign Rex Grossman rofl
A lot of the other receivers named have really good teams around 'em. Would losing 1 receiver make that much of an impact, if the team is built right!?

Andre Johnson got my vote. The fact that Hines Ward is on their makes me rofl Good player yes, one of the leagues best? No. And as for Isaac Bruce, saying your the best WR on the Niners is like saying your the tallest midget. At the end of the day, your still not big enough.

He has the tools now just needs to put on another 15lbs of muscle and you got a Smith clone.

They dont have patience. I think what defines a player much less any other person is consitency. That is what most players are attacked from. They dont have as many impact moments but are very very consistent. Torry Holt just happens to have both. Look at Chad Lewis when he played with Philly. He was very consistent. But the fans were always saying, that is up until he retired, that Philly needed a better TE. We have now found one that is as good as him. Consitency= Boring to the fan base. Explosiveness= Fun and is watched. That is what I am basically saying.

He definitely has a lot of potential, but I don't see him becoming as good as a Steve Smith.

You have to take two three things into consideration here. 1. WR/Punt returner- He had to do double duty for the team. 2. Member of a spread around offense that tries to get the ball into every available recievers hands. 2. ROOKIE- He never had any NFL experience and thrust into the starting role due to injuries from others. Add on top of that that he had no #1 on the other side so he had to take the brunt of the double coverage. He has the potential to be better. Steve Smith is a beast and no person can deny that. Desean has better speed and he has the best WR in the history of the league as his trainer. Add on top to that, the guy is very physical and does not mind going into traffic. He caught almost every pass going to him and his average was among the elite in the league for those who had 60+ catches last season. Along with that, he is a very good defender when losing the match for the ball and a pretty good tackler when an interception did happen. He has all the tools to be as good or better. He just needs the experience and the trust of his QB and coaching staff.

Have to side with Vegito on this. Lol, Desean is gonna be on the very top for a long time, if you ask me. But Smith is still a beast. If Smith was 6' 4", he would be unstoppable.

Thanks Plexus. I do have to agree with you about Steve Smith if he was 6'4". He would be better than Fitzgerald due to being faster, better hands and better technique. As for DeSean, while heading up to the draft and even after the draft, he was drawing comparisons to Steve Smith. After his first year, he has shown that those comparisons have been warrented and that he has a lot more upside than people expected. All he has to do now is show he is intent on continuing to get better and continue to show the coaches he is ready to be the number one on this team.
