Yep, hasenpfeffer is a German dish made with rabbit!

It was also in a Warner Bros. Bugs Bunny cartoon, in which Yosemite Sam was chef to a very loud and obnoxious king who demanded something new for lunch and commanded him to prepare hasenpfeffer. Sam didn't know what it was either. lol It of course led to a Bugs Bunny hunt once he found out.

Rabbit and squirrel are both very good--nice, sweet meats.
When I was a kid in Indiana, my Dad would occasionally shoot a rabbit or squirrel in season, and Mom would stew it with drop dumplings. biggrin Way better than chicken & dumplings. I haven't eaten that in maybe 25 or 30 years, but I remember how good it was.

*hides behind a packet of tofu*

Haha, you'd be surprised by how many meat replacement things there are these days. Most probably taste like dirt and cardboard but hey. razz

I ate Indian cuisine on Wednesday, including Afghan Tea, Curried Chicken, and lentil soup (or soup with lentils in it, anyway). It was interesting.

Yea! they're legumes I think, like these really tiny circular beans almost, (but they're not beans) light to dark brown in colour. Taste great in curries and soups and things. You just get them in cans at the shops.

Tofu is ok, it doesn't really have a taste, I don't know what most people have against it. All you have to do is put it with a sauce or in something with flavour, and it takes on the taste of it.

Chic peas are great too. I even discovered 'TVP' which is just like mince except made from... vegetable protein. So you put that in bolognese and mexian thingies where you'd usually have mince. You can hardly tell the difference, which is AWESOME because I love bolognese ninja
