Attimasc shook himself as he stood up, "Thank you," he said to Shadow, then, to Tanis, "She probably did it how I normally do. By taking what you're made of, and forming it into the shape you want," he dusted himself off, "The only problem is, the farther away you get from your element, the harder it is do. I could be wrong though,"

"well, in that case," tanis said, "It probably isn't something i can do. That would be cool though."

"It might be amazing to you, but its the norm for me. I can assume any shape I wish. That doesn't make me a shapeshifter, though. Whatever I become is usually dark, dead looking, and in shades of gray. For example..." Shadow popped her neck and dissapeared. The next moment, a small cat appeared. It wove its way through Attimasc's legs, leaving a smoky trail of shadows behind it. The cat ran into a pool of shadows under a tree, but it didn't come back out. What came out was a tall, beautiful girl. Her ears were pointed, eyes the color of a full silver moon. She wore long, flowing robes of black. If you were to look closely at the robes then you'd see that they never ended; they just melted in with the shadows at the girl's feet. She smiled for a moment, looking like a dark elf princess. But then her eyes turned blood red and, without warning, her skin and clothes exploded. A large gray-ish blob stood in her place. It looked like a mass of shadows that had freed themselves from the ground to stand. But then Shadow stepped out of them, back to her normal self. As she walked forward, the cloud followed her and became the rest of her 'body'.
"You see? I have no body. I am merely spirit. I shape my element, shadows, into a body for myself. I don't like to change shape. It's very tiring. I prefer my form. It looks like me. Demonic...dark...scary in general. And yet sickly sweet. That's Shadow, for ya." Shadow floated over to Tanis.
"Now then, what I find amazing is that you have a solid form and have to do absolutely nothing to maintain it. You just walk around in that sack of flesh from birth to death. It's quite amazing. Though you think it would be 'cool' to be able to re-grow your arm, I think it would be cool to be able to touch the ground with solid feet that don't turn into misty shadows as soon as they hit something solid." Shadow sighed and floated over to a tree.
"Hell, these clothes you see me wearing aren't even real! Technically speaking, I'm always fully naked. What I do is I will my form to grow clothes. And so it does. So they really aren't clothes. It's more like my skin just grows like that. Only I don't have skin. It's very complicated, really. Now then. I need to get to Jesabell's so I can get a drink. I'm starting to turn into mist and it's really annoying."

"I am sorry, I didn't know," tanis said quietly, more to himself then to shadow.

Shadow was about to tell Tanis to chill, she wasn't mad at him, she just starts ranting and raving sometimes, but then she felt an odd sensation. Glancing down at her body, Shadow noticed that she no longer had legs. Sighing, Shadow began to glide forward again.
"We've got about five more minutes of walking. And it'll be really awkward if I'm only a head when we get there. It's already strange enough, me not having legs now and all. So, may I suggest that we hurry?" Shadow kept walking. They could follow or not. If they did, good for them. If they didn't, Shadow would be able to easily find them later. After all, it's not hard to find a water-boy and a dragon.

"A good idea," Attimasc said, before diggin around in the pocket of his pants. Pullint out the bottle he had used before, he held it up to the moonlight, "If it would help, there might be just enough left in here to give you form for about half an hour," he held it out to her as they walked, "I'm not sure of the exact effects on you, seeing as it was made for me, but you should be able to touch and feel like a human. The only drawback to this, is that you are stuck. No changing of form, you will also have human weaknesses, but more resilient than your average human." he shrugged indifferently, "I could be way off, though. it could turn you permanently human, have no effect, or dissolve you on the spot," he shook the bottle, letting the last few drops splash around inside, "The choice is yours,"

"I found eight total today" Dylan said as she and Eurich sat down at a table. "When should I move in?" Eurich sighed "Cousin, I don't know, you're higher up than me. I should be asking you."

Shadow frowned and stared at the bottle.
"I think I'll pass..." Pulling a pill bottle from the air, Shadow smiled. "This is my magic potion. It makes me solid. And visible. But that's all." Shadow frowned and looked at her quickly dissapearing torso.
"Its not that I can't just take one, but they taste terrible, you see. I don't want to go into what they're made of. It might just make you throw up your stomach. But I will say that I prefer to take it with a certain drink. Sadly, I downed the last one to meet you. I was actually on my way to get more. But no, I just had to meet the newbies..." Shadow sighed and leaned, well, melted, into the side of a tree.
"I could just take what I need...but I'm not good at finding what I'm after. I'm not built for the harvest, you see. Ugh. I'll just ghost my way through the walls and have Jesabell make me something in the back room. As long as that desperate, horny b*****d, Carlton, isn't snooping around, I'll be fine."

Attimasc smiled faintly, "alright, if you say so," he said, shoving th botle back into the pocket from whence it came, "Are you goin to leave us now? or, are you going to leave after we get there? If it's the former, would you please give us directions?" he smoothed back his hair, reaching into a barrel of rainwater and pulling out a glob of it as they passed. With deft movements of his fingers, he began molding it into a very complex shape.

"I shall lead if you will follow. Just follow the shadow that moves on its own." Shadow dissolved into an especially dark shadow and slithered around Attimasc's feet. "Follow meee....." Shadow hissed. She moved swiftly but stopped every few yards to wait for them to catch up. She stopped in front of a dark brick and wood building. "This is where I take my temporary leaveeee....." she said. With that, the little shadow leaped off the sidewalk and through the wall.

"Jesabell!" Shadow called.
"Who's there? Oh! Shadow!"
"Jess, I need more."
"I see."

Shadow glided out of the back room. She was invisible to everyone in the room. Scouting about, Shadow groaned as she spotted Carlton flirting with a drunk chick at a table. Shadow moved over to stand behind the girl. She now stood opposite of Carlton. She gave herself the shape of a demon with horns and glowing red eyes. Concentrating very hard to become solid, Shadow felt her power increasing.
"More...more...more...BINGO!" Shadow said to herself. Though no one could hear her, and she knew she couldn't remain visible for more than a partial second without her pills, she knew she had gotten it right. Smiling triumphantly, Shadow glided away as Carlton excused himself. Shadow had gotten her form just right; Carlton had pissed his pants and rushed out of the bar.
Shadow ghosted her way into the bathroom. She went through a big cinderblock wall, then a plastic-metal door. Pulling out a vial and a pill, Shadow popped the pill into her mouth and quickly drained the vial. Shivering from head to toe, Shadow felt herself materialize. She took her normal form and headed out of the bathroom.
Just for kicks, Shadow walked over to the girl. Sitting down, Shadow grimaced as she felt the wet seat under her newly-solidified butt.
"How are you?"
"b***h I don't play fo yo team," said the girl. Shadow frowned and blinked her eyes. They were a shade of deep scarlet red. The girl caught sight of her eyes, whimpered slightly, and hurried out of the bar. Shadow smiled. Then she decided to go get a drink.
Shadow walked over to the stairs that led to the VIP room. Which is fancy-talk for non-human bar. The bouncer, a human in Kudzu named Christopher, smiled as he saw her approach.
"Hey, Shadow-baby," he said.
"Sup, Chris. You gonna lemme in or you still uptight?"
"Still gotta check, Shad. You never know..." He leaned close to her ear. "They might have a really good shapeshifter on their side nowadays," he whispered. Shadow sighed and walked up a few stairs. Christopher's eyes followed her. She melted into a shadow-puddle. She made herself flow down the stairs to surround Christopher's feet. Concentrating very hard, Shadow gave him a quick jolt of her energy. She knew that it would give him temporary sight into her world. Not enough to drive him mad, but the initial shock would be enough to prove her identity.
"Go on up," he said, rubbing his eyes and shuddering.
Shadow lost her puddle-form and became Shadow-with-a-body Shadow again. Walking up the stairs, Shadow opened the heavy iron door. Reapers didn't know that a big magic circle was on the other side of the door. A witch, Caroline ((pronounced care-oh-leen)), had put the circle there using her own blood. Caroline was now the second barista that worked upstairs. As long as she was in the room, she'd be alerted to whoever touched the door and would be able to see into their hearts as long as they touched it. That was thier main defense to Reapers. Christopher was just the muscle.
"Hey! Shadow!" Shadow was greeted by a good friend, Vladimir. Vlad is from Russia. He is a vampire. Born sometime in the fifteenth century. He doesn't know that Shadow knows that he has a big crush on her.
"Sup, Vlady?"
"Don't call me that," he said, frowning. He took a sip from his glass and licked his lips. Vodka spiked with human blood. Vlad's favorite.
"Hey! It's Shadow! I swear, girl, I thought you ran out of pills. You're usually in here every day, all day."
"Hey Caroline," Shadow said. "I didn't run out of pills. Just met some new people."
"Nice. They headed on over here?"
"Of course."
"Then I'm sure you'd like me to place a little spell on the floorboards inside the door to the main bar."
"One that will alert any non-human who enters that 'Shadow is upstairs. Prove your non-humanness to the big guy.'"
"Of course." Caroline pulled out a knife and slit her wrist. A little puddle of blood formed on the bar. She whispered the spell to it and the blood puddle took off. It slid through the floorboards and headed to its destination.
"Hey, while you've got that open..."
"Of course. But don't you dare even think about biting me." Caroline offered Shadow her wrist. Shadow licked her lips and indulged.

Attimasc looked at Tanis, and odd expression on his face, "So, friend, Shall we brave the unknown?" smiling, he slicked back his hair and opened the door. Sensing the spell on the ground, he looked at Tanis and nodded towards the stairs, "She's up there," he said to his companion, Before heading off as unobtrusivley as he could. Unfortunatley, his form when solid was about as far from unobtrusive as you could get. Standing 6'3", with white-blond hair, and mismatched eyes, one blue and one green.

(sorry I haven't been on in a while, got grounded)
(wow, this sounds like the start of a joke, 3 non-humans walk into a bar...)

Tanis walked into the tavern, and suddenly a thought entered his mind
Shadow's upstairs, prove you're not human to the big-guy
He then looked over at Attimasc, "Did the same thought just enter YOUR mind as well?"
PostPosted: Sun Feb 01, 2009 1:09 am

((what's it with you and jokes today?))
Attimasc smiled slyly, "Depends," he said, "Did yours involve cake, marshmallows, and a woman in a skimpy outfit?" He knocked on the door at the top of the stairs, "If so, get your mind out of the gutter! If not, then yes, I did,"

Kaminari sighed, standing. This was getting stressful; she didn't like stress. It made her mind weaker and unravel. She stood and walked to her couters, and changed into a long black skirt and a long sleeved black shirt, she kept her hair the same. She put on a dark red sash and put her bag that held her journal and watch on there as well. She didn't bother with shoes.

Kaminari entered the bar, her dark eyes brightened up, seeing all the humans. One thought entered her mind, though, and she sighed. One of them knows a witch, how delightful. But she walked gracefully over to Chris, smiling.

"Kammy, haven't seen you in a long while. Why'd you stop?" Chris smiled, but sighed, "You know the drill." he said. Kaminari sighed, pulling out her watch and hitting the small button at the watch. Everything froze but for Chris and herself. She crossed her arms, and pressed the button again. Life resumed like nothing happened. "Go on up." he smirked.

"You're welcome for that extra second of life. And most of the fun are the humans, silly." she said, smiling before going up the stairs, seeing the Dragon and the Water Boy. She sighed, and slid herself between them, trying not to touch the dragon. She opened the door, and stepped onto the spell she knew was there. Shadow was there, with a vampire she didn't know very well. The witch looked up and smiled, Kaminari smiled back and looked back at the two. "I understand you guys can't open doors now?" she asked walking to the bar and sitting down. Whispering for some rum with a mix of dragon's bone, she turned to look at the Dragon, a new smirk on her face, before taking a sip of her drink.
