Anna gave small smile. "A thing for magicians, I guess you could say it was something like that." Harold came back in and place the cake on the counter.
"Triple chocolate, just the way you like it Anna."
"Thanks, Harold," Anna said taking up a fork. "I must warn you, Hotaru, this cake has magical properties. No matter what mood you're in, this cake always makes you feel a thousand times better."

"Oh? Guess I should be a little careful then" He smirked. "Thanks Harold, looks delicious!" He picked up a fork and took a bite. "And it is!!" He proclaimed, mouth slightly full of cake.

Anna laughed. "You know it's okay to swallow before you speak," she said smiling. She took a bite and then looked at the cake smiling, her eyes looking very far away, like traveling back to a memory.

He nodded. "Oh I know, but there a some things that just have to be done immediately, and I try to never miss an opportunity to do so."

He put the fork down beside his slice of cake. "Of course it is. But wisdom and experience are two separate things. I prefer to experience life to fullest, even if it means I learn things the hard way." He smiled softly at her. "Good or bad, it's how I've decided to live my life. No matter what happens at least I'll be able to look back and know I've left no regrets, no moments I wish I has seized instead of thinking and letting them pass me by."

He shrugged. "I don't think I'm lucky. I've just decided how I'm going to live my life, and that just means I get to make the most of everything that happens every day." He reached over, and placed his hand over hers. "Regrets are something that can either break you, or make you stronger. Either way is your choice...."

Anna looked at his hand over hers and then at him. "Despite if you grow from them or not, they're still regrets and you still think if you did just did one thing different, maybe you wouldn't have to life with such a stupid mistake," she said, her eyes beginning to wetten.

Hotaru nodded. "Yeah, I know that feeling....but you can't let it consume you. Mistakes happen every day, and it's always the stupid ones that cost us the most. But if you learn from them, you don't have to repeat the process. And the best thing is, you aren't ever alone." He gripped her hand lightly. "I'm here for you, whenever. No matter how much of a jackass I am. No matter what happens. I'm on your side."

"Trust me, I won't ever repeat it," she whispered so silently, she barley heard it. She sighed deeply then smiled, "Thank you, Hotaru. That means more than you know."

"I'm sure it does." He looked at her, eyes soft. "Now I'm glad we're here. You look like you could use some of that cakes magic abilities." He smiled lightly.

She smiled. "Yes, yes I could," she said picking up her fork and eating some cake. "Never fails," she said smiling, some of the dark cake still stuck to her teeth.

Hotaru laughed lightly. "Hate to break it to you, but...." He picked up his fork, ready to take a bite from his own slice. "You've got some cake on your teeth. Not to bad though. You look cute when you let go some." He quickly shoved the bite into his mouth, ready to move back if he thought he was going to get hit.

She tried to look down at her mouth, of course failing in the effort. She closed her mouth and slid her tongue over her teeth, in hopes to clear the mess. She looked at Hotaru very seriously and then smiled. She took a dab of frosting and quickly smeared in on his nose. "Now you can look cute too," she said triumphantly.
