((First rp posting of the year =D)) After walking halfway through the night, Elise decided it was about time she summoned some light, she needed to find the "Burnt Grove." The forest was thinning and she wanted to make sure she was going the right way. For the past few hours, she had followed the coastline, not bothering to at the forest, simply concentrating on her feet, placing one foot in front of the other. She was hungry, her food provisions ran out yesterday. If Elise had to continue like this for another day or two, she would give up. With the purple orb of light in her hand, she looked at the trees. She looked to her right, sure enough, she saw the skeletons of evergreen trees. They didn't have any leaves on them. Elise made a few paces towards the trees, there trunks were black. She reached out a hand and touched the charred trunk, bits slowly fell onto the snow. This was the burnt grove. With a new-found hope, she quickened her pace and continued onwards.

The rain around Obsidian had stopped. Maria still sat with an open book while the trial continued.
---
It appeared as though Kirra might just be able to get back to working with the Organization. More and more people were voicing support. Ghoul was the one who truly broke the silence of supporters and silenced the opposing side. If a well known hater of vapires and werewolves was in support, then the didn't have much to stand with, since the veterans were clearly supportive of a comrade.

Dawn was breaking, as the sun rose over the cliffs that distinctly showed the border between the continent and the sea. Elise was exhausted, after passing the burnt grove. A few miles, ahead, she saw a series of canyons, and the looming Castle Obsidian A weak smile came upon her face, but there was no time to rest. She was worried that she had arrived too late, but continued on, biting her tongue and trying to ignore her empty stomach. ((Timeskip to early afternoon.)) Elise placed one foot onto the bridge and looked down into the canyon. It was a long way to fall and Elise didn't fancy dying after going through so much. She was scared but reassured herself that the rope bridge would hold and continued across it. Reaching the other side, Elise was filled with a sudden burst of energy that seemed out of place from her haggard appearance. She raced up the steps and reached the looming door and banged on the fancy lion knocker. The banging seemed to echo throughout the building.

She was greeted by a man who looked like the crypt keeper.
"Hello?" He said, peering out at her with yellowed eyes. The man was wearing gray, a retired Hunter.

Her hair was wild, going out in just about all directions and there were bags under Elise's eyes. She smiled a toothy grin, glad to get in reach of civilization at last. "Hey, I've been through the Whispershade... for the first test, and guess what, I'm standing right here!" She giggled like a crazy five-year-old, then Elise snapped back into her formal manner. "Please let me in, it wouldn't be nice to keep someone out in the cold." She said coldly.

"Well fine. Your next test, greenhorn, is to find the castle vampiress... I'll leave you just that information... What you do determines whether you pass..." He gave a grin and swung the door wide.

Elise groaned, she was prepared for another test, but not right now, when she was famished, but she badly wanted to join the Organization. "Fine," she grumbled, and swept past the senior hunter, mumbling about how much she missed a hot bath and some warm food.

The old man laughed and walked down a hall after the door shut with a large bang. The castle vampiress was Marie...

Luna smiled as hunter after hunter took their turn saying what they wanted and making a point. Even though it wasn't a trial for her she felt a surge of confidence for her race, if the good could be seperated from the bad, less would effect the outcome of death and destruction. She heard a small caw and then saw Merria, her falcon, swoop down and land in her lap. She always ame at the most inoportune moments... "What do you want?" She whispered, trying to listen to a hunter speak, this time against Kirra. She growled a small amount then looked at the bird. She tilted her head as if listening. "Oh, really? You couldn't wait to tell me that?" She rolled her eyes, someone new in the castle wasn't a big deal often. She stroked the bird for a moment.

Elise made her way to a staircase that led to the castle's vast basement. It was logical, vampires disliked sunlight and the basement received the least sunlight throughout Obsidian. She slowly walked down the staircase, admiring the intricate carving on the mahogany rail, roses and ivy vines intertwining with each other. The sound of her feet on the cold flagstones, echoed throughout the dimly lit basement and Elise continued down the hall.

The roar of a Drake echoed up the staircase. She was headed for the stalls...
---
Upstairs three floors was the library. Marie sat upon a bookself, reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Yes, it exists here...)

((20, 000 Leagues under the Sea - Jules Verne... too bad out where I'm at, they don't have it in English)) Elise froze when she heard the roar of the drake, she was terrified of them. Turning around, she fled up the stairs and slumped down when she got out of the basement. "You dolt!" shrieked a voice in her head, "How are you supposed to be able to battle vampires and werewolves if you're scared of something owned and controlled by the Organization." Elise gritted her teeth, arose and made her way to the staircase, that led to the second floor, defying logic. "Sorry, but I'm not that ready to check out the basement just yet."

On the second floor was a bustling hallway. this was the Hunter living areas, where most of the hunters lived. Also here was the Commons, the jury entrance into the courtroom, and the eatery, from which the smell of freshly baked bread wafted. However, the large amount of windows showed that this area didn't see much vampire travel.
