Serena's head tilted to the side curiously, her eyes shrouded in shadows that her hood cast. "Do not hold that walking stick defensively. We are not dangerous folk unless provoked," she joked in a way, a strange smile coming to her face. She put her hands up, as if in surrender as she walked closer to the girl, her eyes keeping track of every slight movement. She didn't like when people got defensive against her. Yes, her brother was an Abomination.... So they called them, but he was a good guy, and he did no wrong to anyone. Being defensive against them, therefore, was insulting to Serena. People judged what they did not know... And it was that, that truly ticked her off.

"Come, now. She is standing before a group of people who are already somewhat ticked off. I would be defensive no matter who the people before me were." Erik could tell the annoyance laced into Serena's voice. "As long as she doesn't attack anyone here, I am perfectly fine with her defensive stance."

Serena glanced momentarily over toward Erik. "Eh. I still don't think she should be defensive. It just makes me feel I should be defensive too... And I'm already on edge from everything..." she said with a shaking of her head.
Turning back to the girl, she smirked a little now, advancing on her quickly, coming close enough to the girl so that even she would be able to see the golden eyes beneath the hood. "We mean you no harm, love," she said softly as she reached up, brushing her fingertips against the girl's face in a strangely playful, yet affectionate manner.

Serena heard Erki's comment and laughed a little. Truly, they were all being hunted. They all needed to be on guard, right? She sighed and nodded, averting her eyes away from the girl. "Yeah, you're right. We should get going... It's getting to a late hour..." she said softly as she looked to her brother and motioned for him to lead the way.
Nathan, who had otherwise been quite quiet, standing beside Paania, saw his sister's motion and nodded to her in understanding. "Ah, yes... To our place then. We'll have dinner there and get some rest. In the morning, we'll figure out where we shall go from there," he said with a small smile on his face before turning, grabbing onto Paania's hand in a strange sort of habit. It just felt strangely right for him to be holding on top her. In a strange way, he felt he needed to watch over the girl... "This way!" he called over his shoulder.

Erik did a quick silent prayer that they weren't leading him into a trap, and then followed along. "I could use a good meal. Been living off field rations for God knows how long." Then he spotted Nathan holding Paania's hand. Erik smiled, his face obscured by his hood, and said nothing.

Nathan's hand was warm around hers. Paania smiled inwardly at the thought of getting smaller. It seemed that way, since her entire hand fit in his. Then again, she was a midget. Ah, well. Time time time is on our side...yes it is... Or something else? Damn, she couldn't remember at all...
Marina, thankful to have the attention shifted away from her, stood, turned, and walked off in the opposite direction with a smile and a small wave to them. They were nice, even though they swarmed around her and managed to freak her out. Well, she might see them again. It was fairly probable, that was.

Erik thought it would be funny to be an a** right now and point out Nathan and Paaania in a mean way, but decided against it. Erik just kept walking.

A few moments later, they had reached the outskirts of town, and she darted, suddenly, off the path and into the forest, walking along a trail that was barely noticeable. "This way!" she said as she continued to walk up the pathway, almost seemingly disappearing from the way she was dressed.
Nathan hadn't realized before, but they had a really eerie path to get to their house. And it seemed rather suspicious. He smiled apologetically to both Erik and Paania, and the other, whose name he did not know. "Sorry about the eerie-ness of our place. We found it better to build a shelter that was off the beaten path. It makes for a much better hideout," he said with a nod as he continued. From here on, it would only be a while longer til they reached their cottage.

Nathan smiled at Paania, nodding. "Eh, if you say so," he said. The path began to curve a little to the left, and to the right, sloping up for a bit before hitting flat ground once more. "Here we are," he said, motioning over to a nicely built cottage with a very dim light strung outside... It was enough to reveal it, but not enough to give it away unless one knew where the cottage was.
Serena stepped up, reaching into her cloak, and brought out a ring of numerous keys, with which she began to unlock the door with. When she had finished, the pushed the door open and ushered everyone in, looking curiously about before shutting the door behind them and locking up once more. Inside it was a cool temperature, despite the lack of open windows. Lights were on, amazing, as they couldn't be seen from outside, but she and Nathan had gotten black-out curtains for that reason. "Is anyone hungry?" she asked, pulling down her hood, finally, and revealing a very pretty, human face, with cascading blue hair and golden eyes.
