Nam's ears perked at Kryxel's mention of New York, his home. Well, one of the parks in New York, anyway, one closer to the city. Nam sat, satisfied that nothing was likely to happen at the time.

The Duke frowned. "I have no need for your self-indulgent 'authorities,' Kryxel. Instead," he continued, "you are each here - as individuals - to play my game." The man squinted across the room, at Oliver. "Is that all of them? Are they all here?"
Oliver began counting heads.

Moonhera Alya nodded and smiled sliding into the seat next to Rosemary where she had patted. She looked happy and then frowned at her own clothes, they had been with her always being added to as she grew. She looked back at Rosemary and cocked her head slightly "Won't your daddy want me to help him?" ((*points at post*))

(haha, okay, yeah, I see. I'm already finished with dark elves, I moved onto humans now. I'll be with zombies soon and then vampires and then back to elves. I liked being an elf.)

((Alya is a little young for this sort of thing... there will be life-threatening things. She's only 11 - do you want her to be included in the Game? If not, she can always explore with Rosemary.))
Rosemary gave Alya an odd look. "Do you seriously want to help him?" She asked incredulously. "I certainly wouldn't want to!" The girl had been sure to whisper this.

((Well kind of make her slightly involved sometimes like Rosemary testing her or something)) Alya shook her head and then looked at the Duke "Not really" She said shyly "The game sounds like its really hard, so if he didn't want me .. why would he want to have me here?"

Duke Hoyles tapped his fingers together, grinning. "The kind of game... where you fight to stay alive."
The Duke let this register for a brief moment. "You see," he continued, raising his voice so all of the room could hear, "you are all guests in my house for one reason - I want to see how long you can survive. Escape is out of the question - if you try, you will with all likeliness perish."
"This house is typical by day - but by night, it becomes a house of horrors. You will each get your own room - or share, if you desire - and you will all stay here. Will you cower in fear, in your rooms, or will you venture out into the danger of the corridors? I am curious to see...."
"And, one more warning, let none of you venture outside. The obvious routes to freedom are sealed with danger - a creature resides in the manor grounds. I know not its nature, save that it is dangerous. It is a killing machine. I've lost thirty-eight servants already, all who've been fools to wander outside."
"And whatever you do," Hoyles finished with, "do not try and find the cause of any strange sounds at night. My wife tried to do so - we never found her body."
((Understand, now, guys? This is a game in which you will try to do whatever you want - escape, explore, survive. Your character's goals are entirely up to you. But the halls are dangerous at night. If you feel brave, try venturing through them during those times.))

Estelle looked up to the Duke with her misty blue eyes increduously. A game to stay alive? "How cruel....." She looked down and took a breath, trying not to get emotional and cry. But her eyes were watering though, her lids filling with tears, ready to fall from her pale yet rosey cheeks.

(Perfect for Halloween!)
Nam's nerves stood on end, and his voice raised to an all new decibel, "You sick b*****d!!" He sprung out of his chair, racing for Hoyles, though unsure of what he would do when he got there. A red haze infiltrated his mind, all reason disbanded. He grabbed Hoyles by the lappel, thinking in his mind about one of the very few books he'd ever read, Battle Royale ((By Koushun Takami, I highly reccomend it.)) and how it had ended.
It had not ended well

"any specific rules to this game...like 'dont use this key with the door?' or somthing like that?" kryxel said. (does this remind anyone else of saw?)

Nam's hair raised even higher and his eyes went mad as Kryxel spoke; how could any human being possibly take this in stride!? His thoughts then shifted again to Battle Royale, and to one of the characters in particular.
Kazuou Kiriyama.
And then he thought, No, of course there's no rule like that. It's life and death. The notion left a morbid, sick feeling lingering inside him.
((You guys might have to look this up to get what I'm talking about. Sorry ^^''))

The Duke's eyes widened as he was grabbed - his expression was a cross somewhere between shock and amusement. "My good sir-" the Duke exclaimed, but was cut off by an obscene remark by Rosemary. The girl had gotten up - just as fast - and had kicked Nam in the shin.
Leaving no time for reaction, the girl pushed Nam over, fleeing immediately through a door afterwards. The Duke just stood there, until finally his watering eyes bulged and he just laughed. Hysterically.
Oliver frowned, walking over to help Nam up - but keeping a good grip on him just in case the antics were not over. "Sir - please, the Duke is in a good mood... I beg you not to ruin it...." the old man said softly.
