[[Gah, sorry guys, didn't have time yesterday to do anything. Choir concert took all night.]]
Tiffany was about to answer the boy asking if she wanted to tag along when she saw a flash of paper with the name "Rebecca" penciled on it, then the two began to have a silent conversation, or at least inaudible to her so she waited, a bit transfixed with they way they communicated, then when they turned to leave she awoke from her fixation.
"Wait, sorry!" She said, and caught up to them. "My mind sort of went blank for a second." She blushed, then mentally cursed herself. "I'm Tiffany Mason, but call me Mason."

"hm?" Cory said as he heard a voice behind him and turned his head to see who it was, almost immediately after Rebecca had kissed his cheek. "Well then... nice to meet you Mason." he said to her and turned his head back around correctly and shrugged his shoulders. Cory had decided to just roll with it all.

Mason nodded slightly. "Likewise," she said, then bit her lip at the little bit of awkardness. It was just a tad obvious that they wanted to do their own thing, and they cetainly didn't need her butting in on their little escape. She fell behind, just a couple steps, and decided that if they didn't acknowledge her anymore, she would leave them to their original plans. It wasn't like she had to fit in with anyone on the first day of school. Hell, she could probably care less if she turned out to be a sort of outcast.

chivelry isnt dead Coy stood up quickly and followed Serena out of the gym. When he had finally caught up to her, at an arms length, he reached out and took her hand and spun her around so she was facing him. Coy put his arms around her in a tight embrace. "I admire you...." he said as he moved his head away so he could look her in the eyes. "You told your story... and that takes a lot of self control not to get so upset over. But it's a good thing in a way." he said and then loosened his arms around her. "I'm not always the best with explaining my words or my actions. But I just do what I feel... So... sorry if you don't like hugs." he said backing off a little.
"No... Please, don't let go..." she said softly, her eyes finally meeting his, almost wanting to flood over with tears, but she would hold them back. She was strong, wasn't she? She could be, and she would be... She would show Coy what she was capable of... " And to follow up with her words, she tightened the embrace, not enough to hurt him at all, but enough to show him that she wanted to be held... That she wanted to hold him... That she appreciated the hug, and maybe even, wanted more...
There were so many feelings that Serena wasn't aware of... Her heart beating fast, her mind racing through all possible occurrences, her emotions swimming around her body, making her want to fall over, her will keeping her knees strong... What was she doing? Maybe if she just stopped thinking altogether it would make sense... Maybe if Jason were still around, she would be able to ask him and he would give her the support she needed... After all, he had had his fair share of girlfriends, but he had always had time for her... Maybe he could have given her advice about all of this craziness...
'Just give into it, Rena..' a voice in her head said, and for a moment, she could have sworn Jason was standing right beside her, whispering into her ear, telling her to do it... She almost wanted to pull away from Coy for a moment to look around to see if he was there, but instead, she listened, closed her eyes, breathed out, and let go of all the pain in her body... Welcoming, instead, a new feeling... "Coy, thanks..." she said, her voice still soft as she held onto him, feeling a small raindrop hit her cheek...

Coy felt as if he had fianlly done something right with a girl. He could feel her breathing fast against his stomach and chest. Nodding as she told him to not let go he re-made his half of their shared hug and tightened his arms around her. Coy took a moment to think it all through. This girl was almost the same as kelly, he had been attracted to kelly... but now the feelings for kelly seemed to die away and new ones for Serena emerged in his heart as they stood there in the embrace. Coy heard her thank him,"yeah... anything for a girl like you.." he said softly into her ear and kissed her cheek. He had become so close to her in such a short time, it was unbelieveable how much he felt for a person he had met the year before once and now.

She felt his grip around her tighten and her breathing calmed a little... At least he didn't find her odd for wanting comfort from someone that she had only really just met. Strange concept, really. She had known Coy for so long from Chemistry class... They had been lab partners before... But never had she thoughts that they would be close like this... Close as in, holding each other in embrace like this...
And the sensation on her cheek when he kissed it made something in her tingle... Made her feel, for a moment, special, almost... Like, someone actually cared after her brother died... Did he really care for her? Surely, he wouldn't have kissed her if he didn't, right? But, at that moment, she didn't care whether it was out of pity or whether he really wanted it, she took it, felt it, wanted it, enjoyed it.
And in response, Serena got on her own tip-toes and kissed him, full on the lips, her heart, once again,racing, her mind, unable to think at all...

For a guy Coy was a very emotional person since kelly had passed. Before though he was strong and never let anything bother him, and now... the feeling of having to be strong for someone started to come back. Caught off guard by her kiss he widened his eyes, not pulling away, but now more relaxing into the kiss and had then started to kiss her back. His heart beat faster than ever before, he had kissed a girl not but twice before. And those had been from when he was in 1st and 2nd grade. So this made his first real kiss with a girl. It wasn't that he was bad looking or nerdy... But that he was shy and had been waiting. His waiting though, was his undoing with the girl dying. Not that he didn't want to kiss Serena, he did. But he knew that he'd have to get up the courage again to have the thought of kissing a girl again. He drifted a little and thought about her, he thought it was cute the way she had to get up on her tip toes just to kiss him.

Rebecca waved softly to the girl. She then made a motion as if telling her to come. She put a smile on her face then coughed softly, just to make a noise.

Cory smiled and looked to Rebecca he smiled and laughed a small laugh. Still feeling the warmth of her hand with his he sighed. He looked to his left to see if Mason was still going to come along with them. Cory didn't mind it if Mason came, but he thought about it now and knew he hadn't considered Rebecca's feelings about it.

[[Um, well, all the students have had a loss close to them, and they have all met in the gym and the principaltold them to share their stories. A few didn't like this idea and decided to bail, a few told their stories, though I don't think any of the characters liked the sharing part.]]
Mason smiled back at Rebecca and caught up, standing on the opposite side of her as Cory. She was silent, unsure if they heard her spiel about Brandt or not. Not that she ever really wanted to share with anyone unless they themselves knew Brandt, or they were her close friend.
She fell in step with them as they exited the building and approached the mall, in a silence, not awkward, but content.

Cory looked at them both. He opened the door to the mall to allow them both to walk through before himself. The silence seemed to be too quiet for him, so he decided that he'd find something to talk about.... eventually...

Mason walked into the mall following Rebecca and gawked at the size. It was a whole floor taller than the one in her hometown, and highe-quality stores. She had only lived here for a month, and hadn't really taken a chance to scope out the town. She walked up to the window of the first shop and stared at all the cute clothes. Then she moved along to the next store which happened to be a magazine store. She spotted the newspaper stand on one side of the counter and noticed a headline reading "Three Killed in Centennial High School Shootout" and looked away, her face flushed.

Rebecca sighed. "Well I'm gonna go to D-TOX." She said softly as she started to walk towards a very dark looking store. She walked inside and started to look at all the clothes around. She saw a dress she liked for the next school dance then went to the counter and paid, being really quick about it.
