"She's my slave, I do with her as I see fit." Oni said over his shoulder in a tone of annoyance. "I don't want her dead, she's quite useful. Getting information is a lot easier when the person you're talking to doesn't suspect you're a demon." he added.
As soon as they where out of earshot of Ipos, he turned his head to Rikku.
"It isn't in my nature to let innocents die if I have their life in my hands, especially women." he started in a quiet voice. "But, you should know, that I could easily have said 'screw this' and let him cut you to pieces. Of course, I wasn't going to do that."
He stopped, still looking at her. "I don't think you quite understand what a minigun can do. Do you know what tracer rounds are? They are bullets with a special tip that ignites when it enters contact with the air. The tip then lights up a bright orange, or any other color. Most soldiers put every 5 rounds a tracer, and minigun users often do that as well. When they do, do you have any idea what it looks like when fired? You see nothing but a stream of red. He could cut that tree over there..." Oni pointed to a dead tree in a planter on the side of the road. "In half in less than two seconds. He could have tossed a coin in the air, killed both of us, and gone back home before the coin was even half-way down again." He paused.
"I just saved your a**. A little thanks would be in order, but if you don't want to, no matter. I'm used to the cold shoulder treatment by now." Oni said it in a tone that wasn't asking for any sympathy, more of a statement of fact. He then looked ahead and started walking again.

"I am not giving you the cold shoulder, all I am saying is that you underestimate me." She said annoyed. "I am not completely innocent, and I could have gotten away... and other than this after noon don't ever call me a slave again..." She said with a tone that said she would kill you otherwise. "And I don't owe you anything, your kind has taken the two most important things in the world from me, and now, I didn't kill you, I trusted you even after everything that has happened, so I don't owe you a damned thanks at all, we are even." SHe said walking with him.

Surprisingly, Oni laughed.
"I thought I made this clear already..." he said, and grinned. "No? Alright, lemme reiterate. I. Am. Not. A. Bad. Demon." he said.
"I had no intention of calling you a slave from here on out. A simple ploy, and nothing more." he added, laughing again.
"I doubt it was me that took away those important things, whatever they where, but trust me, the demons aren't exactly friendly to their own kind either." Oni said after he calmed down a bit. "I lost my own important things to demon attacks. So, yes, in your words, we ARE even."
He continued to walk, hearing the sounds of faint fighting on the other side of town. As he did, he put the sling of his rifle over his shoulder, looking inside his jacket.
"In any case, I'll need to find more ammo." he said casually. "And somewhere to stay for the night." he looked to his side. "And you?"

SHe smiled. "Welll I like having company so I think I will just follow you around for a while, and there are alot of abandoned buildings that we can stay in, I don't know what to do for ammo, but We could stay in the old abandoned sky scraper, it is one of my favorite places to stay, or we could find somewhere slightly more secluded that way we wouldn't have to worry tooo much about being attacked." She stated thinking.

Oni nodded, grinning slightly. "This is the first time in ages a woman has invited me into her home." he said, laughing. "Don't worry, I'm not like that, just my sense of humor is." he added.
After a moment, he added: "Lead the way, I have no idea where we are going." he said, slowing down a bit.
He looked around as he walked, taking in the sights of the destroyed buildings. He faintly remembered the nukes that did this.
Shaking his head, he kept walking. "Just up ahead to the left is a black market type place I use." he said after a moment. "I'd like to stop there for a bit to resupply."

She let out a light laugh. "Well lead the way." She said Letting him lead them to the black market place. "I have never been in a place like this before... although my weapons don't need restocking..." She said calmly

Oni nodded, walking down the street.
At the end, he glanced around, slipping into an alley.
"Cliched, I know. These guys're not known for their creativity." he said quietly.
At the end of a dead end alley, he stopped, and knocked on the brick.
"Except at this point." he added.
A brick at about eye-level was pulled back, and nothing but shadow was seen on the other end.
"Oh." a voice said, and the brick wall slid back, revealing a small spiral staircase down. He led Rikku down the stairs.
"Gentlemen, do not be alarmed, she's with me." he said to the men sitting around a rickety wooden table, and two guards armed with shotguns.
"The usual, I suppose?" "Read me like a book. 5 magazines for an FN FAL, in case your memory needs jolting-" he cut off quickly, catching the first of five plastic magazines being tossed at him. One he stuck in his rifle, the others in compartements in his jacket.
"And now, I say adieux." Oni said, tossing a small roll of bills over his shoulder, landing it perfectly on the table as he walked up the stairs.

"That was wierd." She said after they had left. "It was so secretive.... odd... So where would you like to stay, I know this town very well, just give me some adjectives or a couple nouns and I will find the place that fits best." She smiled.

((Sorry I took awhile, for some reason my arms are super still after walking my dog, like my arms feel frozen, feel uncmfortable and almost sore to move lol ))

After the entire battle conflict Tomha's Demon book fell somewhere. Not to far from Oni was the glowing book. If it was activated by opening it, the people around it could be summoned to his mansion. Tomha was waiting in his room thinking they needed an escape route but nobody replied to the book.

Oni shrugged. "I didn't start it." he said casually. "And take your pick, I have no idea what's best around here." he added, nearly stumbling as he stepped on something.
"-The hell?" he said, looking down. He stopped, his hand an inch away.
"No..." he said, kicking the book over. Thankfully, it remained semi-closed, not opening very far. He was able to see the cover though.
"Let's get going. I don't like the place." Oni said, straightening up.

"What is it?" Rikku asked bending down and grabbing the book after it was kicked, she dusted it off lightly and then hesitated. "Maybe we should hold on to it... I kind of has a powerful aura about it." SHe said tucking the book under her arm as they walked she did not open the book. "Lets go to the little area I call home." She said walking towards on old sky scraper.. or atleast part of a sky scraper. "Well here we are." She said walking over to the elevator. "C'mon I can make it work dont worry, here hold this" She said reaching the book out to him but she stopped short and the book fell on the ground of the elavator, she wasn't sure if it fell open or not but she wasn't really concerned with it anyways. She placed her hand on the bottom of the elavater where there was a slight hole about the size of her hand and she let loose a beam of light, propelling them skyward.

"Why does it matter too you" Altair said, he had a bad feeling about this guy. He looked powerful, but Altair would rather avoid conflict for the moment, once everyone else was safe atleast.

"I like too know who I kill in single combat" Ira said. He brought his sword up and using a quarter of his strength swung it. He was just testing this human, and he hadn't had a good fight in awhile.

Altair reacted as fast as he could and raised his mace head and caught the blade on it.

One of the demons charged and raised it's jagged sword. Dimitri brought up his hammer and blocked it, he twisted his hammer sending the sword too the ground and sending the demon stumbling. Dimitri brought his hammer up and slammed the flat head into the back of the demon's head crushing it's skull in onto itself. and another charged with a pair of hatchets. Dimitri spun counter clockwise and slammed the spike of the hammer through the demon's chest.

"It's a book. A demon book, most likely for summoning. I advise you not to open it." Oni said seriously, following her, keeping his eye on the book the whole time.
To a passing observer, or out of the corner of someone's eye, it might have looked like he was staring at Rikku's a**. In fact, he was examining the book from afar, trying to figure out its trigger.
"If it IS a summoning book..." he said after a moment. "Then I guess it activates by opening, so be EXTREMELY careful. I doubt it activates by touch, because you've held it for a while. And I say activates because with all that energy radiating from it, it isn't just a book sitting around."
He stepped into the skyscrapper, looking around.
"If this was one of my buddies places, I would say it would need a woman's touch." he said casually, running a finger through a coating of dust on a filing cabinet that had fallen over. He stepped into the elevator, riding it up.
"Cool. But I could have done this a lot faster." Oni added, making his wings appear and scratching behind his head with one.

Eventually the book lost it's power, the chance for a summon was gone as Tomha canceled it. "Hmm I guess those two were able to fend for themselves. Doubt they killed him." He thought out loud as he began to prepare night time for him. To ensure his enemies don't find him or attack him while vulnerable he blocks the windows and doors with Metal so it was difficult to infiltrate. Due to his reputation and status Demons, Man, and father Xathom would make sure he was dead should he ever be found.

With the assault failed Xathom never showed his face in the battle. While his minions did die, he considered this as nothing, not even a loss. "Hmm maybe I should Use some of the work my son use to do. Surely they'll prove to be entertaining at least." He chuckled to himself as he walked aimlessly around.

Ira brought his sword back and swung again and again, each time increasing his strenght.

Dimitri held his ground and blocked the attacks with his mace. At each contact the clear clang of metal against metal rang and echoed throught the empty street, they stood on.

Dimitri spun slamming his hammer's head into the side of a Demon's face twisting it right around in a 180 degree circle. another came at him with a poleaxe that it swung vertically downwards. Dimitri sidestepped it and brought it down on the huntched demon's back. he demon hit the ground and bounced up. Dimitri spun and slammed his hammer into the demon's side sending it spinning through a second story window. all that was left was the Hunter. it stood taller then Dimitri at about 6'7, it had two sets of horns that curved out from two funnel looking growths that dimitri guessed were ears, the set above the ears curved upwards like a bulls, well the second curved downwards and stopped a inch before the corner of the lips. It's nose was flat like a pigs and shoved close too it's face. it's eyes looked human enough, except the iris was a puke yellow. "well arn't you just the ugliest little bugger..." Dimitri muttered.
