Kara entered, listened, and struggled to contain her disappointment; no Reapers in the immediate vicinity. Still, she couldn't help but pause for a moment, her eyes flicking over technology of a surprisingly advanced nature. Was this still earth tech? Maybe.... Maybe she should look around for a bit. She might find something that could help her combat the Reaper.

War Machine moved through the facility, moving cautiously. There weren't any people around, and there were some areas where it looked like a conflict had taken place.
His sensors picked up some kind of life form moving in the room next to his. He moved silently over and charged his lasers, ready to vaporize if the life was hostile. War Machine slid around the corner and raised his weapons.
"Halt!"

Kara froze, more out of surprise than anything else, and then cautiously turned her head to look at the speaker. A guy in a fancy suit was pointing a truly remarkable number of weapons at her. Unfortunately, she wasn't in the mood to play with him. "You didn't say 'please,'" she replied irritably, and continued walking.

On edge and not in the mood for games, War Machine shrugged and said, "Your funeral." before opening fire with all of his lasers, a few missile pods, and tossing in a flashbang at the end.

Kara waited for the smoke to clear, then glanced over her shoulder at him with a look that clearly said, 'Really?' and then kept walking. She was determined to at least check this facility out, and no freaking Power Rangers villain was going to stop her. Likely as not, she wouldn't even find anything useful...

War Machine stared in disbelief. "No way..."
His faceplate slid open as he looked at her back. "Hey! Just what the hell are you?" His helmet resealed itself as he followed her, moving at about the same pace. "And what are you doing in Stark Industries?"

"Alien from outer space," she said noncommittally, not turning around. This guy wasn't going to leave her alone, was he? She'd hoped that the ineffectiveness of his weaponry had scared him, but it obviously hadn't.

He took to the air, blasted over her, and landed in front. "Tell me what you want here. And hey, just what kind of alien are you? I don't have you in my suit's database."

Kara crossed her arms and glared. This was getting really annoying. "I'm window shopping, and I'm the kind of alien that doesn't like to be interrupted when she's in the middle of something." She floated up and over him, and then glided on down the hallway. "Feel free to put that in your database," she called back.

Hopelessly confused, War Machine followed. Deciding to try a different approach, he said, "All right, fine. Just know that in about 30 feet, some extremely powerful defenses are about to kick in. Like, stuff that makes my suit look like a toy. And we've got everything, from electromagnetics to that green stuff they found last year to nuclear, infrared, and radio waves."

Kara stopped dead in the air, then slowly turned to look at him. Green stuff... They couldn't have... No way... How the hell did everyone, even people who weren't from her freaking UNIVERSE, get their hands on... "Okay...?" she said, crossing her arms again. She knew she sounded like an immature teenager, but was too annoyed to correct it.

"Well? What's the matter, did I scare you?"
War Machine walked past her, past the line where the security systems kicked in. There was a loud buzz, then it quieted down.
"My suit transmits the signal that can disarm the systems, but only if I input the right code and only if I'm the only one in here. Now, tell me what you want, or you'll never get to it."

Kara gritted her teeth. "Fine. I'm looking for weapons. Or just useful technology. I'm trying to take care of a magic user who can duplicate, and I just..." This was hard to admit to someone who'd just out maneuvered her. "Can't do it. I'm looking for something that can give me an edge, and I don't have access to the For- To the place I usually go for this kind of thing." She glared. "Happy?"

She could almost tell that he was smiling smugly inside of his expressionless mask.
"That's much better. Now, what proof do I have that you're telling the truth? And how do I know you're the good guy in this instance?"

Kara rolled her eyes, exasperated. "You don't have any proof, and you know I'm the good guy because I haven't killed you yet. Most of the villains I know would have done it as soon as you came around the corner." She was starting to wonder if this was worth it. Maybe Batman could give her something useful... Yeah right. Besides, she had no idea where he was. "I really, really don't have time for this."
