"Yeah well, my dad and I needed a clean slate. I think it's been about 6 years" Michelle explained. She then turned to Ian "So what exactly is Ian short for?"

"That's pretty cool Ian, we didn't have too many mellos at my old school, if I remember right I think we had four." Kale said while trying to carry-on a conversation with both Ian and Michelle at once which was a skill he never quite mastered/

"Ian's short for Ninian. But... Nin isn't my style. It sounds like a wimpy name for someone who has no backbone. And Ninian's too long. So I chose Ian. So... anybody seen the new band director yet?" She asks, glancing around for someone that was a new face that looked like they had some experience.

Cameron saw how Jeden and Marie didn't know the cadence, he had to teach it to them as quickly as possible.
it was excellent that Jaeden already had his drum strapped up, he simply just grabbed the Tennor sticks, and showed them the cadence. Seeing how the cadence for the Tennors' are the hardest its ever been, he had a little struggle on it, since he doesn't play the quads, or barely pays attention to Tennor sheet music. Cameron just gave a quick grin. "Something like that."
Cameron saw how Marie wanted to take a drum. He was happy a girl decided to take drums, so this drumline wasn't just guys. (xD)
"Which drum do you want to take," asked Cameron.

Coby grabbed his trombone and went into the instrument storage.
As he was putting away his trombone he heard moaning.
He turned around and saw two people making out.
He left the room quickly.

"Uhm..." Marie went to the percussion room and grabbed another tenor. This is kinda heavy... she whined to herself while akwardly shuffling into the main room.
"All right! I'm read-aw crap, I need to get sticks...." the girl grumbled. She took off the harness and returned to the smaller room for sticks.
"Okay..." she began while hoisting the tenor back on. "How's it go again?"

Cameron walks up ot Marie and plays the Tenor cadence with his own sticks.
"Can you try that," asked Cameron
He was bummed no one wanted to take Bass.

"Heyy, that's a little fast!" Marie protested while trying the cadence herself.
"Guess I should've gotten the bass drum. Like I could carry it," the girl sighed, refering to her height. All 5 feet of her.

"Dont worry about it,' asked Cameron as he went behind her, grabbed he hands lightly, and moved her hands around the drums, playing the cadence for her at a slower tempo.
"That's all you have to do, just turn in into triplets and 32nd notes," said Cameron as he smiled.

Jon looked around at the crowd that surrounded them. More students were coming in... lots of them were familiar, but every so often there were freshmen that he didn't recognize. It was pretty cool. That was one thing he liked about band... all sorts of kids were in it, not all were music majors like Leslie wanted to be.
Leslie also looked around at the crowd. She was unable to hide a smile. Taking a quick glance at Jon, she saw the reflective and pride he had looking at the developing marching band and she smiled in her usual, subtle manner.

Michelle noticed everyone was moving on to talk to other people so she pulled out her latest book and started reading.

Marie blushed a little as he took her hands. Doesn't matter, he's only teaching me the cadence...only the cadence.... she thought, then lost track of what she was doing.
"Damn, let's try this again...." she murmered, taking it half tempo. "One-ee-res-uh two-ee-res-uh three-trip-let four-trip-let one!" She said along with her drumming.
"How was that?" she asked, a little excited.

Cameron smiles as he saw Marie blush a little from holding her hand. He didn't let go as he tried it once again, in a slower tempo.
"So, basically that's all you need to do, just at a tempo of 160. it'll be real easier as you get to practice," said Cameron.

Jaeden smirked at Marie and Cameron having a moment.
"Geez, it's hot in here," Jaeden teased loudly. "Man... it's STEAMY in here! WOO! I need to go and get some fresh air, cause MAN, it's hot in here."
He walked out of the perc room and waited for the rehersal to begin.
