"And... we get a large place to live to begin with," Lore added with a chuckle.
Even though most of htier children would be living in other places, but that was just as well. He let go of her hand and wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her into a hug.
"Everything," he murmured to her, "Will be fine, better than fine."

Elnara gasped softly with surprise as Lore pulled her into a hug, but she hugged him back tightly, laying her head against his chest.
"With you with me," she murmured with a soft giggle, "it can only be so."

Suddenly the door behind them opened and Ulrich stepped out, walking backwards and calling back to someone inside the house.
"I thought you said they were going-"
He broke off suddenly as he turned around and saw Lore and Elnara, and he broke into a boyish grin, his eyes sparkling mischievously.
"Now, now," he chuckled, "I thought Arwen said she had brought you to your house already. The bedroom's there, not here."

The sound of Ulrich's voice broke the 'bubble' the two were in. Lore turned his head to see Ulrich standing there and he could feel his cheeks heat up as he turned a wonderful shade of red.
"Ah..."
He was also struck speechless.

Elnara jumped, startled at the sound of Ulrich's voice, and in a moment of panic her eyes began to change colours - but then she brought herself under control and turned to face Ulrich, her entire face as dark as an apple. She had no idea what to say, no comeback for the comment - a comment which had struck closer to home than he might have realized when he'd made it, thanks to the conversation that she had been having with Lore right up until that moment.

Ulrich laughed again, and suddenly Ulani's voice drifted out of the house behind him.
"Ulrich, what are you ..."
She appeared behind him suddenly, and seeing Lore and Elnara she broke into a wide smile. "You made it!" she said brightly. "Welcome!"
Seeing how darkly both of them were blushing, she turned to her husband. "Ulrich," she said slowly, her tone full of accusation, "what did you say to them?"
Ulrich chuckled. "I think they would prefer if I didn't repeat it," he laughed, "though I have to admit, I didn't think they would react quite this badly."

Lore coughed for a moment and tried to fight the blushing feeling. If he was the sort of person he perhaps would have glared at Ulrich, but he couldn't bring himself to do that. He was far too embarassed at the moment.
"You should not sneak up on people with comments like that," Lore told Ulrich.

Elnara was still trying to melt into Lore's side - or at least so it seemed - but at Ulrich's comment to Ulani she only blushed more, not less.
"And don't you go telling her later," she told him darkly. "Honestly, if you were anyone else ..."

Ulrich chuckled. "Threats will get you nowhere, Elnara, my dear. I've seen too much of this world to be afraid of you."
Ulani raised one eyebrow at her husband, then raised one hand and whacked him upside the head so hard that he nearly fell over.
"That's enough," she told him shortly. "They're our guests for a year, and you'd better start behaving, or else it's me you're going to have to fear."
Then she turned back to Lore and Elnara and smiled warmly at them. "Why don't you come in," she invited them, "and we can visit for a while. Ulrich was just on his way out," she added, glaring at her husband pointedly, "so it will be a peaceful visit."

Whatever was left of his embarassment was gone as he blinked at the old couple. That had been quite the whack upside the head, and very unexpected. Though if he had been aware of how regular this was, he would have realized this wasn't unusual actually. This was very, very normal indeed.
"Uhmm..." he glanced at Ulrich, "Thank you very much."

Elnara allowed herself to smile at Ulani and nodded gratefully.
"That would be very nice, thank you," she said softly, detaching herself from Lore and stepped forward slowly, taking Lore's hand once more.

Ulani smiled at Lore and Elnara, ignoring Ulrich as he glared up at her, and stepped aside to let them into the house.
"Come on in," she told them warmly. "Make yourselves comfortable. After all, you're not strangers here by any means."
Ulrich sighed and rose slowly to his feet, then jammed his hands deep into his pockets and headed off towards the woods without a glance back.

Lore nodded stepping into the house taking a look around briefly.
"And how have the two of you been doing?" he asked with a smile, "Haradhel has been telling us about the cows... and chickens."
Or rather how the place had been turning into a farm.

Elnara followed Lore into the house and moved to sit on the couch, smoothing out her skirt before smiling up at Ulani.
"Ulrich is going to be all right, isn't he?" she asked softly, worriedly. "I mean ... he wasn't being awful, just ..."

Ulani followed the two of them inside and closed the door behind them, then headed towards a chair and took a seat.
"We've been doing wonderfully," she beamed. "A bit lonely now that it's just the two of us again, but such is life. And don't worry about Ulrich, Elnara, he's used to it. Valar know he needs it almost daily."
She laughed softly, then turned back to Lore, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Ah, yes ... the animals are housed on the far side of Aliya and Amdir's house, where they're out of the way ... and where their smell doesn't bother us as much." She chuckled softly. "Adonijah loves them ... he spends all of his time with them, when he isn't with Tao."
