Name: Serenity R Thorne Nickname: Ren (Cael is usually the only one that calls her this) AKA: none yet Sex: Female Birthday: Sept. 10th Current Age: 16 Current Class: High School Junior Appearance: Serenity likes to wear different outfits from time to time but her favorite is fishnet stockings and sleeves under a dark blue shirt with a heart on it, black shorts, and black sneakers. Whenever she goes out in the cold she doesn't wear a jacket, just a blue and green scarf wrapped around her. She keeps her dark hair (not quite black) cut a little shorter than shoulder length. The feature that most people notice about her is her smile, it's almost always there. Primary Power: Elemental Alchemy, through symbols and will Serenity can control the elements of Air and Fire. Secondary Power(s): Advanced Alchemy would allow Serenity to change parts of the physical would around him but he needs control of Water and Earth to complete the circle of elements. Weakness: Serenity has normal human weaknesses. She learns her abilities through the Alchemy Index and practice. Personality: Serenity is a very outgoing person. She likes to meet new people and get to know them. She's very friendly to almost everyone she meets and is rarely found in a bad mood. No matter what is happening she can usually find something to be happy about. On the few occasions when she does get sad or angry she turns to her music to calm her down. Serenity loves to play the guitar and to compose music both for herself and others. When she is by herself, which does happen from time to time, Serenity spends most of her time reading. She loves sci-fi fantasy books with a basis in philosophy. Her favorite series is the His Dark Objects Trilogy (The Bronze Sextant, The Obnoxious Sword and the Maple Telescope). Family Life: Serenity is an only child. Her mother, Sara, died when she was three and her father, Marcus, works all day as a carpenter and a rancher in his spare time (leaving not much spare time after that). Sara Thorne's best friend was Lara Xendy. Lara took Serenity into her home when Sara died to raise her as her own daughter. Serenity is very grateful to Lara for everything that she has done for her. Biography: Serenity was born on a ranch in Vermont. She was raised by her mother's best friend. In school Serenity has performed very well though she never let herself rise to the top of the class. despite how out going she is, she doesn't like drawing attention to herself. When she wasn't reading, studying or hanging out with Cael, Serenity used to work and the Frozen Hearts Ice Cream shop. She was always more ambitious than Cael (who never worked) but most of her money went to causing trouble, for instance when Serenity bought Cael his ATV for his 13th birthday (Cael had been so worried about turning 13 on Friday the 13th). When Cael moved to Delmor Serenity was heart broken. When Cael never returned a single one of her phone calls after moving she was outraged. Then she hatched a plan with Lara Xendy that would allow Serenity to move into the new Xendy house in Delmor, much to Cael's shock. Goals/Motives: Serenity wants nothing more in life than to be happy and to make those around her happy, especially Cael. In coming to Delmor, she hopes that she can help Cael see that there is more to life than her and that he can be happy with another girl and her as just his best friend. Vices: Serenity wants nothing to do with social norms. She lives her life the way that she wants to and sometimes can forget what "normal" people are like. Every once in a while she says something or does something that offends someone but she tries her best not to and to make it up to them when she does. Other: Serenity tries to live every moment to the fullest. She knows that she sometimes unsettles people but she likes to think that she knows when to stop talking... most of the time. Her Relationship With Cael: Cael and Serenity have been best friends since he was born; Serenity never lets Cael forget that she is three days older than him. She loves spending time with Cael, even the times when he gets depressed around her. She knows he loves her differently than she loves him, she wishes that it was mutual but he's just not the one for her. Cael is the person she likes to play music for the most. He has a large number of recordings she's made of her songs on his mp3 player. Serenity likes to think that her music calms him down as much as her. She also feels that it is a way for her to communicate with him when they are both lost for words. Other Outfits:

TASK 1:This is a character that has been alluded to many times throughout the RP by the characters of Ames Oual and James Cross. He is a crime boss. I do have most of it planned out already, but I figure making him here will help. He’s mysterious. He’s a shape shifter. He’s the Mastermind. Uh… I guess the other steps will handle the rest. TASK 2:Alright, the Mastermind comes into this RP at a point where he is the most wanted man in Delmor (probably). The police force expends most of its energy on looking for him. So far, we know one super that serves as his ‘son’ AKA ‘personal slave,’ is Mythos. *Waves at Doctor Clean.* We don’t know his motives, plans, identity, or crimes. Age: I couldn’t tell you. Generally, he’s either shifted into all kinds of forms or wearing a mask. This mask hides what is believed to be his natural form. He has silver-white hair leading one to believe he’s older, but it could be part of the look. Sex: We’ll call him a guy. But again, he’s probably forgotten his natural form. Who knows for sure? Name: His alias is the Mastermind. His name is, as of yet, unknown. When asked, he’ll name off a few of his favorite disguises in answer. In the end, it’s a very irritating, “I go by many.” TASK 3:Background: The Mastermind first emerged about fifteen years ago, slowly evolving into a larger threat. He wasn’t always in Delmor either. He’s got his roots in Capital City. His dealings have been short with superheroes. Typically he focuses on the much less capable police force. His thrifts were petty at first: drug stores, food marts, the mall… but know, he doesn’t strike quickly and produce results right away. Now, he leaves no trace of himself behind. All of his forms have different prints, and that comes in handy. When no DNA match can be made, the police force can assume it is the Mastermind at fault, but really they are nowhere closer to catching him. They’ve only built a stronger case. Generally, though, the Mastermind cleans up his tracks. No DNA is usually found. Now, he has some darker motive that police have yet to piece together. I’m not supposed to tell you this. It puts me at high risk, so I can’t get into too much yet. He has a background in science, and his powers come from the usual tests and freak accidents. Actually, the full story isn’t all that important. The important part is that he has his abilities. Goals: To be revealed. Vices: Well, let’s see, he’s manipulative, evil, cunning, manipulative, evil, sadistic, and I’m going to say arrogant, just because. TASK 3.5:Primary Power: The Mastermind is a shape shifter. He can take the form of other people as well as animals. He does this through manipulation of his internal functions, cells, and especially skeletal system. In this way, DNA is altered so as to cancel any possibility of leaving behind a strand of DNA that could lead the police back to him. Secondary Power: The Mastermind remembers anything and everything he’s ever done, seen, or thought. He is able to conjure information on demand, as if he’s an additive Internet. Because of this, he is a genius. Once he understands something, he won’t screw it up. The Mastermind can communicate with animals. Through a combination of his secondary and primary powers, he’s learned the language of whatever animal he’s spent time with before. Weaknesses: Normal. TASK 4:Personality: The Mastermind probably majored in sociology or something. The man understands people. Unfortunately, he’s fallen into the very human trap of using that in a negative way. He takes pleasure in his manipulation of others. He views them as pawns in his schemes. No one person is important enough to him. At the same time, he’s collected, aware, and calm. At times he’s arrogant and curt. He’s definitely intimidating. Strangely, though, he seems almost meditated and peaceful (with himself), even in the middle of the most violent of crimes. TASK 5:Appearance: The Mastemind comes in many appearances, but his favorite is one hidden behind a mask. His costume is a suit composed of black, gray, and white shades. His shoes, hat, and bow tie are black. His undershirt and gloves are white, and the rest are various shades of grey. He’s often carrying around a cane. Probably for the image. The little skin behind his mask implies that he is caucasion, and his deep, unrevealing gray eyes shine through behind the mask. His hair is neatly cut at about shoulder-length and worn a very light grey. He is tall, about 6’5” and broad. TASK 6:Name: To be revealed AKA: The Mastermind Current Age: Looks in his mid forties-mid fifties in his favorite and assumed ‘natural’ form. Appearance/Costume The Mastemind comes in many appearances, but his favorite is one hidden behind a mask. His costume is a suit composed of black, gray, and white shades. His shoes, hat, and bow tie are black. His undershirt and gloves are white, and the rest are various shades of grey. He’s often carrying around a cane. Probably for the image. Task 1+2: Finding a Character Idea, A/S/L Obviously, since this guild is based on Super powers, my character will be a super. I wanted a character who basically had no limits, and so the idea of my character came to be. This is Desmond Leon Kamile. He is a Male, and is at the age of twenty-one (21). Obviously lives in Delmor, but in a small suburb, by himself. Task Three: For better or for worse, for good or for evil? Desmond grew up in just your average family, two parents and a sister. His Father was a doctor, majoring in Anesthesiology. His mother was a Nurse. With their combined income they almost never had hard times. Both parents, however, were just regular humans, no powers. His sister was a smart girl. She got straight A's all through out highschool and was even the star player on the volleyball team. She got a scholership from that and moved out shortly after to go to college. Desmond, however, was not so great. He averaged with C's and at most two B's. He joined the football team, but was just your average Line-backer. After highschool he quickly moved out to be on his own, because he always felt his parents loved his sister more. He was not sad though, he saw this as a chance to become something great. How right he was. Task 3.5: I HAVE THE POWAH!~Onset of Powers~ During his sophomore year, Desmond once looked into the mirror to see a girl in his clothes. A girl he was just thinking about, but it was him. He then returned to hi sown form a moment later. He couldn't figure it out at first, but soon realised that whoever he thought about hard enough, he could become them, and even be able to do things he couldn't. Morphing into an olym[ic runner, he was able to sprint at great speeds. He was able to do things he normally couldn't. At a later time, he realised he could even change into objects and animals, which he used in ways that most Highschool boys would. Either spying in the girl's locker room, or getting back at some jerk, he was walking down the path of Villainy already, but it wasn't untill he was twenty that he began to use it however he wanted. He got to stealing money from purses in the form of a rat. Going insdide a safe vault in the form of a mist, whatever he wanted. But then, other supers showed up. Desmond oce had a run-in with a man who could turn his skin into steel, once he did, Desmond's eyes flashed a bright green. And he suddenly knew how. He alter discovered his copied powers were weaker than the originals, and fled the fight. HE now looks for more people to acquire powers from. He may do bad things, but he isn't necessarilly evil, just greedy, and does bad things. ~Powers in a nutshell~ Primary Power biggrin esmonds Primary ability is his ability to copy powers, since no one else is able to do it. He can only copy a power that he can observe being performed. So some powers are unattainable, such as speaking in minds. The strength of his copied powers are only a fraction of what he sees, approximately 1/3. Secondary Power:His secondary power is his ability to shapeshift. He can only shapeshift into things he has seen. If he saw a dragon on TV, he couldn't turn into it. He has to see the REAL thing to become it, so mythical creatures are a no. Weaknesses:And his weakness is mental stress. His power requires a lot of concentration, so if such a power was able to scramble his train of thought, he would shift and use powers randomely, or not at all, pending on the type of mental disorientation. If he uses his powers for prolonged periods, he will get headaches, which will eventually become migranes. Another weakness is he has whatever weakness his current form has. Example: If he took the form of a hero who was weak againstwater, he too would be, as long as he was in that form. Other than that he has all the normal weaknesses of a human. Task four: But she had a great personality... He does not like competition, he got enough of that from his sister. He likes to get attention, because he never had any from his parents, but he still tries to be his own person. He is a bit messy, and as a result is rather easy going. However, he does not work well with money. He may always have a lot from his recent thefts, but he spends it wildly. Unfortunately, Desmond can not keep a freind. They say he is too annoying. Sometimes Desmond does not like what he has become, but the rest of the time he could not care less. He doesn't really feel for other people, but sometimes he feels lonely, and wishes for a girl he could relate to. Needless to say, he hasn't had a girlfriend in a few years. ALong with his ability to decieve using his appearance, he is a smooth liar, and a cumpulsive one at that. He can usually talk his way out of any situation. He has a tendency to run his hands through his hair, sometimes when he's nervous or just trying to act cool. The latter usually fails. He is generally a happy guy, because he doesn't like pessimism or angry people. Just try not to get him angry. Task five: Don't judge a book by its cover... A better description of him is thus: 6'3" in height and weghs 200lbs of muscle. He has an athletic build, and his skin is a caramelesque color. His hair is medium length and a dark black. His eyes are green. He likes to wear layers of clothing, he likes the style. HE also like loose-fitting clothing, because it's more comfortable. Task Six: Pulling it all together into a profile Name: Desmond Leon Kamile AKA: Chameleon Current Age: 21 Appearance: He is 6'3", 200lbs of muscle, green eyes, black hair, has an athletic build, and dark tinted skin tone. Like caramel. Costume: He does not wear a costume. Primary Power: Desmonds Primary power is his ability to copy powers. He can only copy a power that he can observe being performed. So some powers are unattainable, such as speaking in minds. The strength of his copied powers are only a fraction of what he sees, approximately 1/3. Secondary Power(s): His secondary power is his ability to shapeshift. He can only shapeshift into things/people he has seen. If he saw a dragon on TV, he couldn't turn into it. He has to see the REAL thing to become it, so mythical creatures are a no. Weakness: Desmond's weakness is mental stress. His power requires a lot of concentration, so if such a power was able to scramble his train of thought, he would shift and use powers randomely, or not at all, pending on the type of mental disorientation. If he uses his powers for prolonged periods, he will get headaches, which will eventually become migranes. HE also takes on the weakness of whatever form hi is in. Other than that he has all the normal weaknesses of a human. Personality: A generally happy guy. He likes attention, and is often trying to get it. He doesn't generally like people, but if it is someone he can relate to, he may consider a freindship. Desmond is also a smooth liar, wich helps him remain in disguise. HE is easy going, and a bit greedy. Biography:Desmond grew up in just your average family, two parents and a sister. His Father was a doctor, majoring in Anesthesiology. His mother was a Nurse. With their combined income they almost never had hard times. Both parents, however, were just regular humans, no powers. His sister was a smart girl. He got to stealing money from purses in the form of a rat. Going insdide a safe vault in the form of a mist, whatever he wanted. But then, other supers showed up. Goals/Motives: Desmond just wants money, and to become a somebody. He also wants to obtain every power out there. Vices: He is very bad with money, and can sometimes trip. S he can be a bit clumsy. Other: Well gee, i've said so much already, but let's see.....HE likes animals, and dislikes hurting them unless necessary. Ok, I know I missed something, so go ahead and tell me what it is. IF I was fortunate enough to do really good, tell me what to do next.

I'm getting a little carried away, so I'll post sort of what I have so far.
Task One: Finding a Character Idea The idea behind Jesin? Well, you’ve got high school girl angst plus having dragon traits. Forget embarrassing acne--she breaks out into scales. Her whole extended family does the vigilante thing, so she feels that she should, too. Except that her whole extended family has recently been offed. More angst. Woot.
Task Two: A/S/L?!?! Jesin Rhodes (Blackwood) is seventeen, nearly eighteen, and she is female.
Task Three: For better or for worse, for good or for evil? Backing up a few steps… the family history: As the family legend goes, there once was a little village in Wales with a big dragon problem. This dragon kept coming down from the mountains and breathing fire at the villagers’ fields and stealing their livestock and all those nasty things that dragons do. Then a young woman, sick and tired of all this, went up the mountain and found the dragon. At first, it seemed to be about ready to kill her, but she stood her ground and spoke in a kind voice.
She explained how their little village already had to put up with raiding neighbors and other problems, and pleaded with the great dragon to please stop its rampage. The dragon consented, for he fell in love with the girl the very moment she began to speak to him. He forsook his dragon habits, and thus lost his true dragon form and became mostly human. For the protection of his love, he kept his scales and fire breath. Since then, as the legend goes, all the Blackwood males have been a little bit dragon, and they have all done what they could to make the world a safer place. The family never got very huge, since saving the world is a dangerous occupation and young deaths were pretty common, but it has survived.
Now we get to Jesin…
How about your character’s formative years? Between ages one and five, Jesin actually lived in Wales with her mother (Mary), father (Greg), aunt (Brynne), uncle (Vaughn), and two cousins (Iwan and Morgan). The move happened after Jesin first showed scales. Greg had hoped that his brother would know a little bit more about why a girl in the family had scales, and Vaughn was glad to help in the search. Plus, Jesin really had no control over her scales at that age, and Vaughn had a home in a little rural town where she wouldn’t be noticed much. (He commuted to work.) Living in the same house, Jesin really got attached to her uncle’s family in ways that most kids don’t.
Around when she turned five, Mary and Greg agreed that it would probably be best to move back to America. They hadn’t gotten any closer to a reason why their daughter had inherited dragon traits when usually only the males of the family did, and she had better control to be able to live in a more urban place. They sent her to public school wearing long-sleeved shirts and carrying scarves, just in case..
School was all right, until she started breathing fire around age eight. Whenever she had to take a bathroom break to let off a little fire, she always came back with incredibly bad breath, and the teacher wouldn’t let her have any kind of candy during regular class hours. That included breath mints. She ended up the butt of many a joke for her bad breath, which made it tough for her to make many friends.
But at home, things at least were pretty good. She knew her dad and uncle did a lot of world-savin’ stuff, which she thought was pretty cool of them. Her dad would show her some little hand-to-hand combat tricks and help her try to control her scales and fire. He said it was in self-defense, but she had a feeling he wanted her to help him save the world some day. Her mother was often worried about Greg, but she always showed the strongest love to Jesin. Mary would be there to talk about how the kids were treating Jesin at school and give reassurance and comfort.
Middle school was a horror. Already pegged with having bad breath, Jesin was fighting an up-hill slope against peer pressure. While she was able to control her scales most of the time by this point, her extra-moody time of the month brought out the worst of her scaly break-outs. She got into a lot of fights with her parents about maybe being home-schooled, or, well, anything so that she wouldn’t have to put up with getting teased about wearing turtlenecks on warm, sunny days.
That fight never actually got resolved, though. One day, when she was fourteen, her father just didn’t come home for dinner. He usually called when he knew that work (or vigilante work) needed some overtime, but there had been no such call. Two worry-filled days later, the call came. It was the city morgue. They’d found his body in a back street with a very big sword run through it. (They didn’t put it quite that way, though.)
Mary made funeral arrangements, and then further plans. She insisted that she and her daughter change their last name and move as far from their city home as they possibly could. Mary chose Delmor because it seemed like a good place to go, at a glance.
Jesin really was happy for the fresh start there, even though she was also grieving over the loss of her father. Since high school teachers had no problems with students eating mints in class, she was able to keep her breath from constantly smelling bad, and she had had more practice keeping her scales covered without wearing weird clothes, so she didn’t instantly make a bad name for herself at Delmor Unity High School.
At age sixteen, just after getting her driver’s license, she called up Uncle Vaughn and Aunt Brynne to share the joy. Brynne answered, sobbing into the phone. Vaughn and Iwan were dead, and Morgan was nowhere to be found. Jesin had just finally been able to move past all the grief and anguish of her father’s death, and now her world came crashing down on her. Jesin and Mary did go to Wales for the funeral services, but they didn’t stay too long. There was school to go to and all.
Once back in Delmor, Jesin wasn’t exactly sure what to do, but a chance encounter with a convenience store robber helped her make up her mind. She would start fighting crime, but she wasn’t about to tell her mother about it. Her mother would totally freak and insist on moving and keeping life low-key. Her grades have faltered a bit of late. Usually a pretty solid A student, she’s now more in the B’s. Her mother, fortunately, blames it on the grief.
And, as a general other note, Mary works at Delmor Credit Union as an accountant.
Goals? Jesin’s goal at this point is to fill the empty space in her heart by trying to fill the place her father, uncle, and cousins had in the world as vigilantes. She doesn’t think she would gun for vengeance, especially since she has really bad nightmares about very big swords and tends to freeze up whenever she sees someone with such a sword in hand. (It’s only happened the once, and the guy was technically dressed for cosplay.) Also, she’d love to know what happened to Morgan. He’s two years older than her, so he would be nineteen now.

Hex, your work is good. I need to know a few things. First, how long does Desmond get to keep his borrowed powers? If it's longer than a few minutes after witnessing it's use, you may need to drop the shape-shifting ability. I understand the desire for a character without limits (Believe me, I do) but those sorts of characters are no fun for other players to play against.
If I may make a suggestion (don't feel pressured to take it), maybe Chameleon can take the form of one person or animal he sees and hold it indefinitely. While changed, he has access to all of the form's strengths and abilities as well as the ability to shape into another form at will. His shape-shifting speed could be very quick, allowing him to flow between forms during a fight; allowing him to use all his opponents' strengths against them. Just a suggestion.
Seliza, you're on a roll! I can't wait to see when this all comes together!

Task Three-Point-Five: I HAVE THA POWAH!!! Powers! Jesin is pretty much part-dragon. (Whether the family legend is true or she’s just some sort of crazy evolutionary mutation, that doesn’t matter so much to her.)
If someone looked closely at a medical scan of her, they would notice she has a third lung of sorts. Her body produces a flammable gas in this lung-like organ. When she exhales said flammable gas, it becomes flame. Her mouth, throat, and lips appear to have protection against getting burned by the flame, as she never does. She can generally breathe out a plume of flame up to about fifteen feet in length, but she can keep it smaller.
Also, Jesin sprouts scales. These scales are thick and black. She says there are two levels of scaliness: snake-skin and dragon-skin. Snake-skin is what she mostly gets when scales start to form because she feels some sort of strong emotion. It is thicker than human skin and harder to cut through, plus it seems to keep her safe from extremes in temperature. When she is covered in snake-skin, she doesn’t get burned or frozen. It’s easy for her to maintain a layer of snake-skin. Dragon-skin is harder. Well, it’s literally harder than snake-skin, as it is bullet proof, but it’s also harder for Jesin to maintain. It takes a lot of concentration and really saps her energy. She doesn’t shed the skin. It just sort of shift into and out of her.
Snake-skin and dragon-skin are both harder than human skin, so when she throws a punch wearing either skin, it’s like getting punched by someone wearing brass knuckles.
When she goes fully-scaled, even her individual strands of hair scale over, making her hair turn black.
Problems!
Fire-breathing comes complete with the socially-embarrassing bad breath. When she is conscious, her body continually produces the flammable gas that she needs to breathe fire. If she doesn’t breathe fire pretty regularly, say for about five minutes every couple of hours, then the gas builds up and she may start “burping” fire. (Fortunately, her body does not produce the gas when she is unconscious, so she doesn’t have to worry about setting the bed on fire.) Also, if she has been breathing a whole lot of fire, it can totally deplete her of the necessary gasses. No gas, no flame.
As for the scales… When Jesin is feeling extremes in emotion, she tends to break out into scaly patches of the snake-skin variety. This is more of a socially-embarrassing thing, much like the bad breath. Even though her dragon-skin is bullet-proof, she can only maintain it for about ten minutes straight before she gets too tired to keep it up. Plus, it is made of scales. If someone were to run something upward, against the grain of her scales, that something could slip right in between the cracks and into Jesin.
Potential?
I’d love to be able to have the potential of her sprouting dragon wings. Something major would have to happen, something to bring the “dragon” out of her. It would have to be a big life event, or maybe a mad scientist doing some crazy tinkering, or something. This isn’t an absolute for me, though.

Task Four: But she had a great personality…Jesin is naturally a cheerful and friendly person, but experience has left her more withdrawn and moody. The recent losses in her family have her feeling extra moody. She tries not to get too emotional in public because emotions lead to her breaking out into scales, and that’s embarrassing. She also hasn’t gotten too close to new people, afraid of what they might think if they found out about her scales. She wants to be with people, part of a group, though. Those she is close to, like her mother, she is fiercely loyal to. (That loyalty makes her feel bad about lying to her mother, though.) Task Five: Don’t Judge a book by its coverJesin stands at about 5’5” tall, with tan skin and blue eyes. She has a triangular-type face, with strong cheekbones, and people tend to think she is a bit older than she really is. She keeps her blond hair short, never past chin-length. It’s layered and feathered to stylish awesomeness. She keeps a solid exercise schedule to stay in shape, so she is thin in an athletic way, probably around a size six in dresses. She has the basic body language of an extrovert, initially making eye contact and standing close to others without being uncomfortable, but she often backs off and looks away when people start responding by being close. She tends to keep her emotions close and her face straight in public, unless she’s really getting angry, so she can come off as a bit flat. She dresses mostly in long-sleeved and full-length things. You probably won’t catch her dressed in a skirt any shorter than ankle-length or a shirt with less than three-quarter-length sleeves. Even with that limitation, she manages to look good. She is careful to stay up with fashion and choose the full-length, long-sleeved things that won’t stand out that much. She always wears a heart locket that has a little picture of herself as a kid on one side, and a picture of her father on the other. This seems like a weird thing to have a picture of herself, except that the little kid picture was the one her father always had in his wallet, trimmed down to fit in the locket. When she’s got her snake-skin thing going, her hair turns black with the black scales of her skin. The snake-skin has the texture of, well, snake-skin. It’s scaly, but still somewhat smooth, and it has a bit of a shine to it. It’s a bit of a lighter black, though, than her dragon-skin. Her dragon-skin is thick and scaly, more like the scales someone imagines for dragons, or the scales of a fish. It has a much rougher texture, and it is black like obsidian. Super costuming? None, yet. She currently just goes low-key in a hoodie and black pants. (Normal dress, fancied-up dragon-y self, and usual costuming. Although, her dragon-y self ought to be a darker black than this.)

Name: Jesin Rhodes, formerly Jesin Blackwood. AKA: Jezzie, Black Dragon Current Age: 17 Appearance: She's 5'5", athletically thin, with blue eyes and chin-length blond hair. When she's scaly, her hair turns black with her black scales. She dresses in fashion, although she usually wears long-sleeved, full-length clothes. She always wears a heart locket around her neck. Costume: Jesin isn't much for the big fancies just yet, seeing as her mother would probably find a fancy costume and figure out exactly what was going on in no time. She keeps it to dark hoodies and pants, trusting her scales to hide her face. Primary Power: Jesin is part-dragon. The big thing is that she can grow defensive dragon scales. Her "snake-skin" is easier to maintain and protects from extremes in temperature, like those brought on by fire or ice. Her "dragon-skin" is bullet proof and incredibly dense and strong, although if something ran against the grain of her scales, it'd slip right between them. Secondary Power(s): Jesin also breathes fire from a specialized lung, which produces a flammable gas. Weakness: She can only breathe as much fire as she has gas for. She can only maintain dragon-skin for a short amount of time. When she gets really angry, she can stop thinking straight, which is no good. Personality: Jesin is naturally a cheerful and friendly person, but experience has left her more withdrawn and moody. (That loyalty makes her feel bad about lying to her mother, though.) Biography: Jesin grew up the first girl of her family to inherit the dragon trait. Usually only males in the family have this trait. She had some hard times in her childhood dealing with her dragon-ish-ness, but she was mostly coming to terms with it. Then her father died, killed with a big ol' sword through his middle. Her mother and she went into hiding and changed their last name. The news came soon after that her uncle and one cousin was dead, and her other cousin was missing. Now she's decided to take up the vigilante work to fill the void in her heart and the empty space in the world left behind with all the deaths in her family. She just hopes she doesn't end up skewered, herself. Goals/Motives: Jesin’s goal at this point is to fill the empty space in her heart by trying to fill the place her father, uncle, and cousins had in the world as vigilantes. She doesn’t think she would gun for vengeance, especially since she has really bad nightmares about very big swords and tends to freeze up whenever she sees someone with such a sword in hand. (It’s only happened the once, and the guy was technically dressed for cosplay.) Also, she’d love to know what happened to her cousin Morgan, the one who went missing. He’s two years older than her, so he would be nineteen now. Vices: She compulsively pops tic-tacs or chews mint gum. If she doesn’t have some form of breath-freshener, she feels about ten million times more self-conscious. When nervous, Jesin tends to fidget. Mostly she’ll twitch her right leg if she’s sitting or tap her hands together if she’s standing. Once she gets angry, she just snowballs if she doesn't catch herself quickly. It's not pretty. Other: Jesin loves electronic music in the style of Daft Punk. She hates stories where everyone is portrayed as being totally perfect, preferring something like Pride and Prejudice, where the main characters have these flaws and misconceptions that they have to get past before there can be anything resembling a happy ending. People aren't perfect, and not all endings are happy.

Task Seven: Playing with yourselfJesin's Daily Schedule Jesin jots down her schedule, in her own voice. It goes something like this. 6:00 AM: Alarm goes off. Grumble a bit. Snooze. Actually get up at about 6:15. Get dressed in exercise gear. Bring a hoodie, just in case. 6:30 AM: Morning jog. Stop early-morning evils, if necessary. 7:00 AM: Home again, hopefully. Shower. Breath as much fire as possible in the shower to minimize need for breaks during school. (It usually holds until lunch. Usually.) Get dressed. 7:30 AM: Grab something for breakfast. Double-check backpack for tic-tacs and mint gum. 8:00-ish AM (Or whatever time school starts): Go to school. If necessary, stop on the way to pick up more tic-tacs and gum. Standard School Day: Classes? Calculus, Civics, Senior English, Physics, Choir, and French. (And, yes, I can take the math. Thank my accountant mother for that! Only regret in my schedule? I wish Mrs. Arietta would stop trying to get me into the after-school choir. I just don’t have the time!) Breathing breaks in the bathroom when necessary. Aim to put them between periods, but when nature calls, best answer before I set something on fire. Lunch time, find some group to sit around with and make idle chatter. 2:30-ish PM: School’s out, but Mom won’t be home for another couple of hours or so at least. Hit the streets. Meander around. Right some wrongs as necessary. 5:30-ish PM: Head home, make dinner. Otherwise it’ll be take-out. Used to be Mom’d cook, but since she’s got to do the work these days, I’ve got to do the big meal. 6:00-ish PM: Dinner with Mom. Talk about life, world issues, plans for tomorrow, all that jazz. 7:00-ish PM: Dinner’s over. Mom crashes upstairs. I think something’s wrong with her. She’s been getting thinner lately, sleeping more. Maybe it’s just that the grief’s wearing on her, too. She’s out like a log, anyway, by 8:00 latest, and I’ve got the night to myself. 8:00-ish PM to bedtime: Homework or righting wrongs. Whatever happens to be at hand. Lovely, right? Bedtime (Hopefully no later than midnight. Otherwise I’ll just be sapped tomorrow.): One last good breather, then go to bed.

Task Seven: Playing with yourselfDowntimeOn a school night... Jesin put her ear to the door of her mother’s room, and she could hear the steady, quiet breathing of her mother’s sleep inside. Well, that was good. Some nights, her mom would be quietly crying, not quite asleep, by 7:30. Jesin knew the feeling. Two years since her father’s death, but the time mostly just meant that it wasn’t so often that the grief attacked. It attacked just as hard when it did. She couldn’t let herself get caught up thinking like that, though, or she wouldn’t be able to do anything that evening. She had a big test in Physics, so she didn’t want to set out and do any vigilante stuff, but her brain would fry if she tried to study any more. That meant downtime. Woo, downtime! She half wanted to check out The PU, but she didn’t want to be a wallflower and she didn’t know who would be there. Or even if it was teen night, at that. Well, scratch that idea. Cinemas? Nah. The movies looked like crap right now. Whiny romance or action-packed crap. Her hand went to the locket around her neck, rubbing the locket between her fingers idly as she walked to her room. She flopped down on her bed. What else could she do? She reached over and flicked on her CD player. (She didn’t have an MP3 Player. CDs were good enough for her.) Daft Punk’s Discovery album started playing, and she tapped her finger on the bedcover to the rhythm of “One More Time.” She stared at her ceiling, wishing that that her room was more decorated. She’d had a good ten years to get her old bedroom personalized. In the last two years here in Delmor, she just hadn’t been able to get it right. White walls, plain furniture, plain desk with only her homework on it. She just didn’t have the heart to pull out the stuff from her old room, as it all reminded of her old home and her father. Nor did she have the energy to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff. Ah, well. She flipped over and pulled her current reading out from under her pillow. It was a book called Crown Duel, by author Sherwood Smith. She was getting into the second half of the book, the part where the real romance happened. Good story thus far. She wanted to smack the narrator now and then for being so dense, but she still loved how the story was progressing. Not a whiny teen romance, but the good plotty kind. After a few chapters, she turned off her CD player and her lights, then closed the book and just went to sleep. A boring way to spend her free time? Maybe. But what else could she do? On a weekend… Jesin didn’t have anything else planned for the Saturday, so she decided to use it the best way she could. She’d go to Adohi Forest and practice. The place gave most people the willies, but most people couldn’t go bullet-proof and breathe fire. She figured she had a nice advantage like that. Maybe there were things like her living in it. Maybe it was haunted and she should feel a little more frightened. She didn’t have protection against ghosts. Didn’t matter that much. People generally didn’t go there, so it made for a good place to practice when she had some downtime. She donned a tank-top and some exercise pants, pulling a black hoodie over the tank for travel purposes. In almost no time, she’d made her way to Adohi. She strolled in underneath the outstretched tree branches. Her eyes told her that she ought to be feeling peaceful and happy surrounded by these lovely trees. Her heart still started beating a little faster. A little further into the forest, and she was soon sure she would be safe to just practice. Even if her nerves were telling her that something was off about this place, her logical mind was assuring her it was fine, so she was determined to behave like it was. She peeled off her hoodie and laid it aside, then she focused on her scales. Why couldn’t she do this at home? If her mother caught her, there would be questions, and Jesin had a hard enough time keeping what she was doing secret from her mother without having to come up with good lies for why she wanted to practice as much as she did. She started out just drawing out her snake-skin. She kept it slow, though, trying to only let the scales grow where she wanted them to. She started it on her right hand, watching very closely as the cool scales crept up her arm by her will. She could feel a few patches breaking out on her face and legs, though. This frustrated her, so even more scale patches started forming. She just sighed and let the scales take her entirely. Within thirty seconds, even her hair had gone black. She was too irritated to be able to go back to having perfectly human skin just then, so she knew that would have to wait. She could practice other things, though. Growing out her thicker dragon-skin, for example. From snake-skin to dragon-skin she had more control than from human skin to scales in general. She could make only her hand thick-scaled, or only her feet, or only her chest. She almost made a game of it. It probably looked a little bit strange, the way the thick scales rippled across her body. She began to dance to some music in her head, moving her body in sync with the rippling of the scales across her body. It was a chance to just forget the world for a moment, close her eyes, and focus entirely on herself. Relaxing… but also exhausting. Not a half an hour later, she was ready to call it a day. She breathed her fire for a little bit, careful of all the live growth around her, then concentrated. Emptying her mind was the best way to get rid of her scales completely. As tired as she was, it wasn’t hard to empty her mind. Once she was all fleshy, tan, and blond again, she pulled her hoodie back on and headed home. It had been good exercise, and also just a good chance to relax.

Flat Tire
Jesin knew something was wrong with the car when suddenly the wheel started pulling to the right, and the car was veering that way no matter what. She turned off the radio, and then she could hear the clunk-clunk-clunk of her flat tire in addition to the pitter-patter of rain that she’d been trying to drown out.
Blast it all! She pulled over, feeling the tension in her shoulder blades get paired with a break-out of scales along her back. She hadn’t slept well last night and she’d had a long day at school. She had to get home to cook dinner for her mom, but dinner had required groceries, and groceries meant driving. To top it all off, it was raining. Now this! All she wanted to do was get home and rest.
She pulled her keys out of the ignition and pocketed them—she didn’t want to get locked out of the car in the rain, too. Then she popped the trunk and got out of the car. She knew that there was a spare tire in the trunk. It was just a matter of getting the thing on.
Her hoodie was more meant to keep prying eyes out, not the rain, so she knew that she would soon be soaked. Wonderful. One more thing. And if anyone came up offering help, she’d have to keep her hood up and face covered, because she could feel the coolness of her scales along her cheeks now, too. Even more wonderful.
Ugh. She had to move the groceries from the trunk to the backseat before she could pull up the trunk carpeting and get to the spare. At least the spare was there, though. She pulled it out, as well as the jack and wrench. One of her mother’s requirements for Jesin to get her license had been for Jesin to prove she could change the oil and a flat tire. Her mother saw these two things as incredibly important for any driver. One more thing Jesin could thank her mother for, she supposed. At least she wasn’t left a grumpy, rain-drenched, scaly damsel in distress.
It still took her ten minutes to remember just how to use the tools at hand and change the tire. She was perturbed the rest of the drive home, and pretty much until her mother came home.
“Noticed that the spare’s on the car,” Mary said as she came into the kitchen.
“Yeah,” Jesin grumped. “The tire went flat when I was getting groceries. But dinner’s ready.”
“You remembered how to change it yourself?”
Jesin turned from the stove when she heard that touch of pride in her mother’s voice. It wasn’t a normal sound these days. To her surprise, her mother had a smile on her face. A real, honest-to-goodness smile.
“Yeah,” Jesin answered, smiling herself. And all the frustration of the ordeal melted away.

Atrox Saint Hex, your work is good. SO My options are........ 1. Drop the shape shifting ability, in order to keep powers indeffinately 2. or make it so that he can only use other powers in the form of the power's owner. Am I understanding you correctly? Because I had intended him to keep the powers either long term or peranently. If I cant that will probably only be the case in small scale RPs (Such as unsung) rather than in Guild RPs

Alright Let's do this thang!
Task One: Finding A Character Idea. Alrighty Here's my idea. I'd like to create a character who is paranoid. He constantly feels as though he is being followed or as though people have broken into his house. Often times he thinks he's heard something that isn't there.
Coinceding with the whole paranoia but He's going to be something of a loner. I'd like for him to keep things very close to the chest including his abilites.
