Nio giggled softly into Enoh's hair. "Baby, he's too young to protest. You dress him up in ridiculous costumes all the time and he's happy as a clam. Well, unless he can't get to his ears.." Nio murmured this last bit just as Aurion was, ironically, attempting to grab at one of his ears through the thick fabric of the grunny paw. The paw was winning.
He had to agree that the excitement of the holiday was contagious, and watching how happy it made the kids was his favorite part of any holiday. The stress of family life lifted when the group was together, sharing the joy and laughter of a day like today. His ear perked, and he heard an especially loud cry of "ASRAFEL PROMISED ME THIS PILE" resound over the rest of the shrieks and giggles going on downstairs.
Nio picked a lollipop out of his pocket and unwrapped it, sticking it in his mouth. Hey, daddy's are allowed some candy too!
"You want one? I may have snuck a few away from Donny. The last thing he needs is more candy."

"I know, and thats why I love it." Enoh stuck her tongue out, then went back to watching their little cabbit. She had to agree, costumes with headcoverings made it hard for Aurion to blister his ears. Hoolay!
Of course, Enoh also heard the yell, followed closely by "FINE BUT I WANT THAT ONE PIECE!" Followed by something that may or may not have been a trade offer. The shifter went back into giggles. "And its fun to listen to everyone fight over Candy...Donny sure does get into it, doesn't he?" She chuckled again through her purring.
"Sure, I'll have one." Reaching up, she took the one from Nio's mouth and popped it into her own, humming innocently the entire time, her silver ears swiveling back happily.

"Donny seems to get into everything, actually. That's why I took his candy. It was very likely someone elses before him." He snickered and shook his head, stopping in mid-shake when the lollipop was plucked from his lips. He blinked, and registered his loss, before a slow smirk crossed his face. He would have made to steal it back, but as he watched her suck on the lollipop he became distracted. After all, she was sucking on his lollipop. That was almost like kissing him. He thought it was pretty sexy. heart
"Very funny." He growled low against her neck after dipping into it. "I guess I'll just have to suck on this instead!" And, much like a vampire, he did just that.

"Good thing he didn't catch you..." Enoh said softly, almost sadly. Adonis had been very, very cold towards Nio since then...it would have made it worse if the tale found out his father was theiving his candy.
But then, of course, she stle his lollipop. Angry Donny thoughts were pushed aside in favor of teasing her husband. She was purring again, the noise momentarily pitching when he nuzzled into her neck; oh how her neck was her weak spot! "Oh no! Don't do thaaat~" She purposely whined out, trying her hardest to sound sarcastic. Then, of course, she tilted her head to the side to give him more room.
Some damsel in distress she was.

Her actions betrayed her feelings, Nio thought triumphantly as he nibbled mercilously upon her neck.
"No! Sorry, too late!" He managed to surface long enough to say that before burrowing back into her neck, making little gremlin sounds as though he were eating her up.
He paused for a moment to take a breath before diving back in, but stopped. He could hear little gremlin-like noises coming from somewhere else, without him doing it, and peered over at the crib. Someone was mimicing their father.
"Enoh," Nio paused, the amusement draining out of his face. "Do you think he knows? I mean.. I know he's just a baby, but.."
He sighed and rested his head against his wife's shoulder. He tried not to dwell on the past, and his lack of memory, but sometimes it just hit him hard in the face and it was impossible to ignore. Such a time was now, as he heard his son mimic him, a telltale sign that the boy knew his father's voice. It was a rare occasion nowadays that the boy would respond to him like he was now. Perhaps the excitement and happiness brought the best out in him, but something told Nio that it should be like this all the time.

Enoh was giggling almost ticklishly before Aurion started mimicing Nio's noises. Blinking, the shifter opened her crimson eyes to look over at the crib, where the gremlin noises had changed into fits of amused giggles.
"Knows? He's too young to know what---oh. Oh, that." Enoh cut herself off sheepishly before sighing sadly, moving her attention back to the crib. The litle cabbit thought it would be fun to stretch his legs out infront of him, and Enoh could just see the tips of his green booties over the edge of the crib, waving and twitching happily.
"I...I think he does know, and...I do think it bothers him. Babies are realy good at feeling emotions...he probably knows exactly what it is..." The shifter said bluntly, unable to hide the sadness in her voice. Nio remembered her, but he didn't remember their children aywhere past pictures and what she told him...and that, above all else, hurt. Especially since his biological son was erased from his memory.
"But..." She said softly, searching for his hands with her own, and grasping them once she found them....no matter how awkward the position was. "...But I also think he knows who you are, regardless if you know him. I think he's hopeful that you'll remember him completely one day." The woman nuzzled her head under her husband's chin then, her crimson eyes closed.
"I think that even though he's only a baby...if he didn't hope the you he was born to would come back, he wouldn't keep mimicking you like this. It'd be like when it first happened, when he shieked whenever you came around him." Things were getting better, and Aurion must know that, too...otherwise, like she said, the baby's personality regarding Nio wouldn't have changed from then until now.

Nio sat in silence as the woman who meant everything to him spoke. Her words sunk in, but they weren't surprising. He'd figured the same thing, and it did hurt. His eyes rested on a spot on the wall as he thought things through in quiet, heavy silence. His hands tightened around hers as she reached for him.
He, too, kept a strong hope that he would regain his memory, one day. With the help of his family, he was sure he could do it.
"Sometimes," Nio whispered quietly after a few minutes of silence, "I look at him and I can swear I remember him. But then I realize I'm remembering myself. As a baby." Those memories were still there, though they were short, and not as happy as the ones he had lost must have been. He would have traded the two for anything.
Another bout of silence brought him out of his thoughts. Silence? It was out of place. Nio snapped out of the reverie he'd been caught in, and both ears rose up fully, like satellite dishes. He could hear heavy breathing, but no laughter, no screams.
"Listen." He murmured, letting the silence fall for another minute before speaking again. "So quiet down there. Do you think they've gone to bed?" He didn't remember hearing them stomp up the stairs, but he had been lost in his own thoughts.. he may have missed it.

"...That makes sense, he looks so much like you..." Enoh replied softly, her crimson eyes still on Aurion, who was apparently getting sleepy; his little booted feet were slowly sinking back into the crib, a his giggles had been few and far between, in favor of the occasional, noisy yawn.
Then, Nio told her to listen; she did, her own silver ears perking out from her waves of purple locks. "Oh, you're right...it IS quiet. Perhaps they did go to bed..." She thought about it for a moment before speaking again. "I didn't hear anyone come upstairs at all..." She said softly, her ears swivelling back into her hair once more, disappearing into her hair like they had when she and Nio first met; when he was a cabbit and hugged to her chest..

Nio unwrapped himself from his wife and slowly stood up, taking her with him as he continued to hold her hands. He gave Aurion a quick look, a ghostly smile kissing his lips as he watched the boys eyelids become heavy with sleep.
"Come on," Nio whispered back to Enoh. "Let's go down and check on them."
Though he felt pretty sure they were fine, there was a hint of worry that perhaps Donny had convinced them all to go out trick or treating on their own. Oh, what a tremendous mess that would be, if it were true..
He led his wife out of the room, and gave a quick look down the hall. The doors were varied; some wide open, some closed, some ajar. They looked just as they had when they arrived. Listening for a moment, he heard nothing from them.
He then turned to the stairs, and slowly walked down them, stopping near the middle when he could see under the ceiling. There he found a pile of children flopped all over each other, in various stages of sleep. Some were snoring, others were shifting uncomfortably, and one or two were sleeptalking as they clutched their hoarde of candy protectively.
Okay, that was mostly just Donny.

Enoh nodded slowly. "Might as well...just incase." She said while she stood up, fixing her sweater before slowly and stealthily moving out of the room alongside her husband.
Once at the stairs, the shifter had to lean farther out to see the kids, and her free hand came up to her mouth to further silence her muffled chuckle. Piles of comfortable and uncomfortable worn out children everywhere! It was cute, so see all the various ages mingling together. Mieke and her Mate, Momo, had commandeered one corner of the couch, Momo sitting upright with his head bowed forward and Mieke curled up in a ball, using his legs as pillows. Their twin fawns were sprawled out awkwardly over Vidya, who was sprawled out awkwardly on the floor with a pillow under her lower back, all three of them snoring softly. As awkward as it was, they looked strangely comfortable.
It wasn't just them, everyone did!
Hell, even their resident Cherubs were out of it; the blue-haired Valen had found a sleeping place on top of their TV, and Van was snuggled contently in his little arms...and the pink-haired Ella was curled in a little ball by the window.
"Hah...that looks so uncomfortable...but they all look so comfy at the same time...!" Enoh whispered to Nio, resting her cheek against the side of his arm. "I don't want to wake them up after all this..."

Nio treasured the warmth of Enoh's cheek pressed against him. He reached over with his other hand and brushed his fingers through her hair in a loving gesture. "I don't want to either. But should we really leave them this way? I'd carry them to bed myself if I wasn't worried about waking them up.."
They looked adorable, strewn about haphazardly, and Nio couldn't decide if he thought it was better to leave them there, or take them to bed. Some might complain and fuss, and wake the others up.. others would complain tomorrow about aching backs and lack of sleep..
There was never a way to make everyone happy.
That's why he left all the decisions to his lovely and much smarter wife! Yup.
His eyes rested on the twins, flopped against Vidya. "Maybe just the babies, at least.." He resigned to whispering.

Enoh thought about the options for a moment. "You know...I think we should just leave them there, even the fawns. They are toddlers after all, they could sleep on a staircase and be happy about it." The shifter smiled fondly, then nuzzled her face into Nio's shoulder. "If they complain tomorrow it'll be their own fault anyway, they already had the option of going to bed." Some might call it tough love, others might call it lazy mother.
"They'll be alright, and they have tomorrow to recoup so...lets go back upstairs." She suggested softly, her tail, which was now more of a fuzzy silver devils tail, waved softly from side to side.

At Enoh's judgement, Nio decided that they would be fine. After all, mother always knows best. Nio knew this better than anyone. He nodded softly and took one last, lingering look, squishing his nose up at the cuteness of the scene. He turned heel and headed back up the stairs, never once letting go of his wife's hands until they once more reached the inside of their room. It was then that he let go, only to grab his camera from the side table, and tiptoe back down the stairs quickly. He turned on the camera, took off the lens, and snapped two shots of the pile. With a triumphant grin he turned the camera off, and returned to his room.
"There. Now I'm happy." He put the camera back down on the side table, and collected his wife back up into his arms.
"Well. Not completely happy." He purred into her cheek playfully. The tiny ball of fluff hidden well in the back of his pants wiggled like a happy puppy.

Enoh followed him back to their room, then looked thoroughly perplexed when he grabbed the camera and went back out of the room. The shifter stared at the empty doorway for a while, then shook her head with a little laugh of a sigh. Humming to herself, she toyed with some of her own hair as she waited for her dearest husband to return.
When he did, she shook her head like she had before, with that same little laugh of a sigh. "You'd better makes copies of that, for blackmail purposes." She teased, only happily melding into his arms and leaning against him.
"Oh?" She questioned, her voice pitching with innocence. "What would make you completely happy...?" She was teasing of course, but her voice still held that innocence.

Nio moved from her cheek to her neck, purring heavily into it. "Youyouyouyouyou." He murmured, before kissing the crook of her neck up to her jaw. His head popped up for a moment and he pointed directly at the now-still crib, holding a fast asleep baby within. "And possibly making more of those." He commented breezily, before an impish grin touched his lips. It was, after all, the process of creation that made it so fun and popular.
Every child in the house was asleep, and Iva was in her crib in the other room, as fast asleep as her baby brother was, and only too happy to let him share her room for the night. Everyone asleep? This was a rare occasion; Nio was not about to let it slip by without taking advantage.
