Bianca took a breath in as she heard the news. "Someone died?" her eyes flickered in the misty air. Everyone she had been worried about was safe. Injured, but safe. Whom was it that had died?

"How far off at they? They need to get here as soon as possible."

Bianca nodded to Cirro politely. "Go ahead in. Once everyone's here we should all stay in the den for the night and discuss this. The Choosing can not happen tonight.

It was Mahora who answered this

"I think all Brindle wants is for us to be on alert. Everything is under control for now, so it would be best if you stayed here," he stated.

His voice was slightly slurred, the gashes in his cheek making speaking painful and his voice almost inaubible. He growled at himself in frustration and slight pain.

ooc;; Late post. ^^'' -edits-

bic;; Cirro stood beside the Hunter, fur bristling as he listened. Would more blood be shed? Cirro doubted it - or at least, he hoped it could be prevented. He did not speak, instead choosing to listen as the cats outside the den spoke. As Bianca granted him permission, the Clouded Leopard bent down and grabbed the neck of the deer between his strong jaws, his large fangs glinting. He dragged the carcass inside the den, placing it nearby, before darting back outside and grabbing the antelope. The larger deer's body was harder to move, but Cirro managed it despite this, leaving long gauge marks in the muddy earth as he brought it inside. He nodded at Sahari, flicking his tail, silently gesturing for the Den-Watcher second that they could eat.

Kiros nodded in affirmation of what Mahora had said. Kiros settled back down to his previous possitoin as he kept scouting out the ahead landscape outside the Den. He was looking for signs of the others return or any kind of threat. Kiros was now anxious but still able to keep his reserve and so he stayed silent.

Sahari stood up abruptly, leaving behind Daniel. He was now resting, and did not notice the commotion; the small Sand Cat's hackles bristled as she saw a shadow enter the den, but it was only Cirro, arriving with fresh kill. She shot a warning glance at the Hunter, before twitching her tail towards Jacqueline, Sahari's eyes bright as she glared at the tom. Her meaning was clear: Stay away from the ocelot cub.

But Cirro nodded, understanding. It was common knowledge that Jacqueline did not like males. Cirro would leave her undisturbed, steering clear of the she-cub and the apprentice as he made to sit by the entrance. The others were still outside in the rain, and his ears were angled to catch bits of their conversation over the downpour.

"Thanks for the kill," Sahari murmured quietly, nodding at the fresh-kill. The small feline stalked forward to drag the MUntjac deer over towards where Konya lay. "Here you go," she smiled at the Den-Watcher subordinate. "I'll go give some to Tami and Jacqueline." She bit off a chunk of the hind leg, before picking up the prey and bringing it to the Healer's apprentice and the small ocelot cub. The Sand Cat turned to Zephre, unsure. "Do you, uhm, want any prey?" she asked cautiously, not sure if the blind Healer could get some for himself, or not.

Jacqueline curled yet closer to Tami as Mahora entered, and when Cirro entered, she pulled her body into a tight not. She found herself only a spot on Tami's fur, curled up to closely to the older cat. The ocelot cub peered nervously at the two males, blue eyes afraid, but not petrified. Her fear of the older males could not be explained, because the cause of it had never been obvious. Her pink nose trembled slightly as Sahari walked over with the meat. She wouldn't move just yet.

Konya nodded a thanks to Cirro for the kill then smiled at Sahari. "Thank you." She got up and started to eat from the carcass, the cubs that were laying with started to play amongst them selves waiting for her to finish. One of the younger cubs followed Sahari to where Tami was laying and tackled her, he mewed at her wanting to play. More cubs joined the other one.

Tami continued to lick the furball that was Jacqueline, purring softly in an attempt to sooth her. She sighed as she was tackled, not really sure if she should play with them, or continue comforting the ocelet cub. "Zephre, do you want me to help Mahora, or are you?" she asked, glaring lightly at the cub who was balanced on her head, batting at her ears.
((I'm pretty sure they can, but if the big cats can't purr then I'll fix it. And, sorry about this, but tonight'll be my last night on until Wednesday or Thursday. Leaving for a mini-vacation. Unless I can figure out a way to get my characters out, just ghost them along please.))

((i thought they could purr in a way))
PostPosted: Sat Jul 26, 2008 5:04 pm

((As a rule, if the cat cannot roar, it can purr. The rp's getting away from me! Firstly I'd like to say that hunting in this thread is not as easy as one cat going out and automatically catching something, especially in rain like this. There is a hunting faction for a reason. The success rate of a pride of lions is only one in twelve, so no just killing something and bringing it back, unless it's really insignificant or your cat gets lucky. Two; no kills in the cubbing dens plz, most of the cubs would still be suckling and ats just gross anyway ><. Bianca, respect her, Mahora and Kiros should have received a sharp reprimand for not respecting one of the leaders of the pride. She is a den-watcher but she's still a ruler, and in charge of all of y'all. Lastly, nobody knows the second assassin's a tiger. Both sight and smell were practically erased in the conditions I created, there is a method to my madness, you'll see. Oh and Kikiama, Zephre said something to Bianca on...page six I think it was...he's still waiting on a reply ^^.))

Brindle fixed her second with a hard stare. "Well," she said finally; "You should go see Zephre anyway, even a scratch could get infected in a season like this. With that she began to lead the way back to the main den."Bianca's going to love this..."

Zephre tilted an ear towards Tami and the little Jaqueline. "You had better stay with your cub." He said teasingly, "as for injured and cats and those who are not den-watchers, I think we've caused Bianca enough worry and it's getting a little cramped in here. Out. I'll treat you outside."
Thanking the sky that the rain had let up at least a little Zephre grasped the bundle of leaves gently in his mouth and dipped his head to Bianca as he left the den.

Brindle shook herself again as she came upon the shorter grass around the den sight. She caught sight of Zephre chewing his healing leaves carefully into a paste.
"Another patient for you healer." She said quietly.
"Don't tell me you wound up in this fight as well?"
Brindle took a while to answer, "not quite. Calyn needs a look-over. And we need an inspection of the cat that was killed.
"Killed?"
"There was a murder Zephre."
"Great sky above, another assassination?"
"It was an assassin, or at least it was conditioned as those who took Kirros were."
"Then there is still someone in the pride who was involved but not caught."
Brindle nodded but said nothing more. It was a failure. She would never forgive those who slew the outrider head, and to think of at east one more still going about unpunished under her very nose made her furious. She growled her frustration savagely.

(( OoC:Sorry! I missed your edit, Griffin. Thanks! :]] ))

Despite Zephre's words earlier, and he was wise indeed, Bianca's nervous would not relax. Though they were her colleagues, each member of the pride was like a cub to her in her eyes. Not to say they were immature, heavens no. It was merely an instinctive feeling.

Mother of the Pride.

Bianca nodded to Zephre's exit, "Be careful." At least he knew of respect, and as she recieved, she gave two times over to Zephre.

She then saw Brindle and Calyn and breathed out again in relief. Bianca softened a little and hopped down the stoney wall (it was quicker) and met the three. "Are you two okay?" Bianca licked Calyn's forehead softly as a comforting action. A soft rumble echoed from Bianca's throat that she always did as a sign of safety to every cub many times when they had a nightmare or were fearful or something.

[That's what I thought, as far purring goes. And if I'm thinking right, all the big cats we are playing can roar, so they are not capable of purring. Except for the cheetah. So Mahora and Kyground's character can't roar, only purr. All the jaguars, lions, tigers, and leopards are only capable of roaring. And Griffen, Mahora was only referring to the leopard when he said assassin. He has no idea the tiger is an assassin, but merely guessed that the leopard might be one. But he wasn't one hundred percent sure, and his guess only came from what he felt, not what he smelt. And also Griffen, I explained it to Kiki already, but Mahora wasn't trying to be disrespectful. It's kind of hard to acknowledge your superiors, or the world around you, when you have a gaping wound in your cheek. ^.^ Just thought I'd clear some stuff up.]

Mahora nodded to Bianca slightly as he trailed after Zephre. He gazed past the huge lion when he heard Brindle's familiar voice. He went to sit next to Zephre, watching Brindle silently as the two conversed. He resisted the temptation to lick at his wound like a domestic house cat. The cheetah wasn't a big fan of showing weakness.

Calyn sighed, going after Brindle. She didn't want to cause any more trouble, but she couldn't think of a way out of this that didn't involve "Oh look, an elephant" and then bolting when Brindle looked away. And she had a feeling the huntress would catch her and literally drag her back. "Just my neck and then leg." she said quietly, keeping from wincing as she sat down before the tiger.

Tami nodded, unseating the cub with the motion. She sighed as the cub ran to Bianca, crying. She gave the den-watcher an apologetic look, she hadn't meant to do that. "Sorry..." she mumbled, the other cubs oblivious to what had befallen their companion as they continued to play ontop of Tami, still trying to get her to play with them.

((As said before, I'm gonna be gone until Wednesday. Sorry guys, just ghost me along please.))

Bianca's ears twitched as a cub's cry as it ran to find her. Her eyes wided slightly and she nodded tothe three before jumping up to the den opening and swiftly taking the cub between her paws and nuzzling her softly. "Shhhh... shhhh... You know better than to run out of the den... Shhhh..." Bianca licked the cub lightly before picking her up in her mouth and taking her back into the den.

She laid down and buried the cub in her fur. The night's damp, cool air was not safe for a cubs immune system. The cub shivered under Bianca's neck and she nuzzles her fur deeper. "It has been one heck of a night..."

((Sorry Griffin I wasn't aware of the hunting regulations wont happen again.))

Kiros snapped out of his trance like scan as the cats arrived. Kiros, as instructed by Zephre, removed himself from the den and looked at the ground alone as he approached Brindle. "We are going to start searching out the the culprit...aren't we....Huntress?" Kiros always was very carefull in adressing Brindle. He didn't look up as his sign of respect and giving honor to a cat. "I mean to say are we going to start immediatly?" He said revising his statement some. Brindle was one of the few that he become nervous around because he had so much respect for his leader.
