"This way," Serenity smiled, leading Trisha further up the path. "This is where the little brook is too, and we'll be passing by the pond on our way up there."
She brushed away a butterfly that landed on her shoulder and headed up the path.
Elnara laughed and led Lore outside. "I noticed," she grinned playfully at him. "It was so beautiful ..." She squeezed his hand. "You're always so thoughtful."
And she fidgeted with the ring on her finger, remembering the moment when he had given it to her.

Luthien smiled. "I'm glad you like it," she told Trisha warmly. "It's changed a great deal since Elnara first came back ... it was still young and the plants were not very large then. But it has been about forty years since then, so the plants have grown and we have gotten many more ..."
She laughed softly. "And that of course attracts more butterflies and the like ..."
Earendil grinned at Lin. "Excellent!" he said brightly. "Then I shall return shortly!"
And he disappeared once more.
Sir Valdemar smiled and leaned back in his chair. "While we're waiting for him to return," he said softly to Lin, "would you mind terribly if I asked you a few questions?"

Trisha chuckled at that, she had noted and these butterflies seemed to like people a great deal. She had no idea what the garden looked like back when it was young, so she could only imagine.
"Is it difficult to maintain a garden here?" she asked curiously.
She was told they were in the desert and she couldn't imagine that was where they were except it was very hot.

"I'm back you think so, to be honest I had no idea what I was doing," Lore admitted.
Even though ideally a person only got to propose once in their life time, they normally at least heard about the process before going into it. Lore had only paid lipservice to the books titled romance, but never had given it serious thought. Of course anthrpology gave him a unique outlook on it, but nothing very helpful.
"I guessed what I was doing."

Lin turned slighlty and grinned, she thought that was an awfuly silly question to ask. She padded over to her mentor and took a seat once more.
"I wouldn't mind, I ask you enough questions as it is," she told him with a smile.

Serenity passed the pond and brushed some of the branches of the tree to the side so that she could pass by without it swiping at her face. Just ahead now was the brook where she liked to do her drawing.
Elnara laughed at Lore. "Well, you did it all perfectly," she told him with a wide grin. "I honestly have no idea what would normally be done here either, but I can't imagine any better way."
She led him towards the flower garden, where roses in every colour imaginable were blooming, filling the air with their scent.

Luthien smiled at Trisha. "The gardeners make sure that it's kept freshly watered, so it's rare that they wilt - there's a water source high on the mountain that supplies the entire city with water. No one knows where it comes from or why it's there, but we've never had to worry about the water even though we're in the middle of a desert."
Sir Valdemar smiled back at Lin. "I was just wondering ... how is Lord Aldrich doing? It has been a while since I've heard anything about him ..."
He couldn't help but wonder if his old friend and Lord had gotten over his anger yet.

"So that's how..." Trisha wondered if it was an underground source of some type, "That would be interesting to see."
She looked around fondly at all of the flowers, it looked like spring, maybe it was spring. There were so many flowers in bloom, she was sure Yukiko would just love it here.
"It must be a lot of work... there's a garden back home, but it's no where near as hot."

"It always amazes me to see the colours in some of these roses," Lore commented motioning to them.
A part of him would wish to take the colours that didn't naturally come in Gaia back home with them. Blue especially was a lovely colour as well as the lavendar colour as well.
"Which reminds me with summer coming back home, the summer plants should be opening up by now."

Oh, now that was a good question, when was the last time since she talked about Aragost? She had a bit of trouble of calling him Lord Aldrich to be honest.
"He's doing okay," Lin replied, "He's probably still teaching Adan everything he knows, but one day Adan is going ot know what he needs to know. I think Ahren spends time with Aragost too, but not as much as Adan does."
It did seriously make her wonder though if anything was going to change between her and Aragost now that she was older. Not that she spent a lot of time with Aragost, except when she was spending time with Adan. Scratch that she spent quite a number of times learning from Aragost.
"It always gives the others a double take knowing us kids like being with him," she admitted, "Though he has his moments where he's good with adults too, just not in front of other adults and not often."

Elnara pursed her lips thoughtfully, running her hand over the top of the bushes.
"I ... have it quite the opposite," she admitted softly. "I am always amazed by the fact that they don't exist naturally in Gaia. Sure, you can find them artificially coloured ... but it's not quite the same ... and to me they should grow naturally in these colours."
She smiled over her shoulder at Lore. "I suppose you have it better," she murmured, "to be amazed at what I take for granted ..."

Luthien smiled softly. "Hot?" she repeated in a soft voice as they passed by the pond. "I suppose, if you're not used to it ... to me, this is spring, one of the cooler times of the year. The only time I have seen snow or ice was when your brothers made some for us when they first visited. I barely remember trees ..."
She led Trisha past some hedges and to where Serenity was waiting for them, already busy sketching. There was the small brook trickling through the garden, lined with small, white sparkling stones.
Sir Valdemar nodded thoughtfully. It didn't really tell him much, just about his relations with Adanedhel and vaguely with the other children.
"But what about his temperament?" he pressed. "Has he become ... more friendly, less friendly, angsty, irritable, happier ... what?"

Trisha looked around with great interest, what a serene place she thought to herself as she took a seat beside Serenity. She wasn't so fond of the snow, she liked the rain, especially the soothing spring rains back home.
"I'm not," Trisha admitted to Luthien, "It feels like summer here."
There was a rustling in the bushes, they weren't alone. Red eyes peered out hidden in of the hedges. There was a soft giggle along with that, that melted into a purr.

Lore chuckled at that, "Well... I'm sure there might be such a flower.... far away. It does seem strange that Gaia for all it's unique plant and animals wouldn't have other colour of roses."
He chuckled at the thought a bit.
"Which reminds me, it's time to start a garden back home too."

Lin tilted her head as if it was a foriegn time to question to ask, and in a way it was. She had taken for granted that Aragost just preferred to hide how he felt. Was he more friendly, she could argue yes, but the adults might beg to differ, since she knew he still liked to give the creepy scary aura that he had been so well known for. If he didn't around you... well... then you were special if you were an adult.
She scratched the back of her head thoughtfully, "Well... I mean... I think he's friendlier. He likes to spend time with his family.. well Arwen, Ahren and the rest..."
In other words those that had grown up with Aragost around.
"But he still gives the scary creepy aura that makes everyone be careful of him," she pointed out, "I think... it kind of depends on who you're talking to. I mean... adults.. he's that creepy person who doesn't talk a lot... and to other people he's the nicest person ever. Well he is the nicest person ever you just can tell if you were other people. You can ask Miyu, to her he's the nicest, sweetest person, and she would completely balk at the idea that he's scary."
The irony of her talking about that was that at the moment there was a knock at the door. She glanced over her shoulder a bit to see Yukito, Yue and Miyu there. Hiding behind Yue of course.
